Can’t believe that I hadn’t come across your videos sooner. Been bush crafting for some time. More from a prepping standpoint. Love the forest. It’s hard to come home but the wife says I need to. Enjoying your videos. You have a great attitude. 🙏
Thank you Luke, for a person with disability wishing to explore outdoors but can’t, your videos are a joy to watch. PTL. Keep up your great work, I hope companies will pay you for all the free advertising your doing!
luke i thank you from the bottom of my heart i have been following your videos i have learned so much i have used the advice you put on your channel to good use its nice to go out for an overnight adventure myself and with my wife so luke thanks for everything you do strength and honor my friend
Just discovered your videos! they are almost therapeutic for me as I don't have the means to go camping as much as I like.. but keep up the good work I've learned a lot by watching!
Great overnight adventure, definitely with the coyotes "laughing" all over the forest. If i was there in your place... i think my hearth would have pump up a lil bit at that point. But , that's the buzz of the trip. Great videos on your channel , keep up with the good stuff. Such a lucky guy to live near all that beautiful landscapes, forests etc.
been rocking your videos today , this one was a lot of fun . I love stealth camping , and the lay out you used is first class , I like using cheap sleeping bags and make the warmer by putting a water proof cover , and two bed sheets inside the bag they hold your body heat better . i do it this way because I have had to stealth camp before and i was always low on bucks and had to go with what ever i could get my hands on , using stuff like leaf bags to stay dry lol , so after that i started doing some very strange load outs in an old over night bag made into a back pack lol , some did not work out so well , but others worked out really good , fun stuff to play with and learn the important's of thinking on the fly . Great video Bro keep them coming
I completely understand my friend. Campsites and real life camping are two very different things. Thank you for watching and commenting my friend. Be well. Enjoy the quality time with your daughter.
Another great vid Luke! It doesn't get much better than stealth camping. That's about the only way I can get out in the woods here in Eastern North Carolina. Unless I wanna go to a "campsite" which is not my idea of camping. My daughter and I usually go to Uwharrie when we wanna do an all weekend camp-out. That's prob close to where you're located. Very nice area to go must say. Well..really enjoy the vids and the reviews. Take care....Mike from Wilmington, NC area.
You just stirred a thought...I wonder if dog whistles would alert wildlife of your presence without humans detecting? There is an Ap, I believe, that generates a dog whistle from your phone. Bells are not a good idea for Stealth, but perhaps that would be a good alternative. Love the channel, bro.
I am new to your channels. I love, love this one. I took the Sierra Club Wilderness Travel course...many years ago but I leaned so much. I am a remote camper now using my Ford 150 and look forward to getting back to more back packing. You are awesome. What I love about this video and time in your life (10 yrs ago) is the adventure in your presentation...and mostly...in your eyes and spirit. Thank you!
Hey Luke, when I was a youngster I would do this exact thing, sneak around the woods and just explore. I use to run off into the wild every chance I got, the thing is I never once worried about ticks. That was in the early 2000’s so I guess something changed, because you may have heard about someone getting a tick, but that was very rare. Now I can take a leak near the tree line with out getting a tick on my clothes. I live north of WV about an hour from Morgan town in PA. It’s a real shame because I don’t like letting my daughter play in the woods, Lyme disease is a real threat, my wife got it and she’s a total house cat, be well my friend Jon
I love watching your video's, it's almost like being there myself. I really enjoying exploring new areas that I've never been in before and watching this one is the same as exploring around here...
Hi Luke great video mate, just found your channel and I love it love your enthusiasm everything is brilliant, and yes I yawned every time you did. keep up the great work mate cheers Warren
Thanks for this video you always make it like we are walking right with you keep up the overnights it's fun to watch when you go out with your wife too stay safe and healthy God Bless you
Thanks for responding Luke, I really appreciate it! You have an outstanding attitude my friend and your vids are some of the best on here. Look forward to many more from you. Take care brother.
This journey was epic man, the coyotes and thunderheads with all the other scenery while being a stealhike/camp is just awesome. And no, none of your yawns got to me, haha.
You were joking? I thought you were talking about that dark shape over Luke’s shoulder and down the hill around 1:50-2:10. I wasn’t sure if that was a person watching or a weird-looking stump. Hmm.
this was so far your best overnight adventure. i think you should do more videos like this one. i really enjoyed this, a lot. in fact i use to do what you do, except i didnt make the videos. ive done it since i was 4, all by myself. watching this video reminded me how much i miss doin this stuff. the environment is very much like northern ohio. very enjoyable, very nice
Thank you for watching and writing in my friend. Greatly appreciated. As for the Trangia/Esbit Stove, I know exactly what you are talking about and I actually have one. I will have to do a video.... As far as alcohol stove kits go I think it's one of the best bundles out there. I got mine from the Clymb for $20 during one of their sales.
Just awesome. Your vids are some of the best camping series. The coyotes audio was awesome. Just curious, what type of camera gear do you use? I'm a huge photo geek.
OMG. That picture of the cloud formation! Wowsers. Will remember your advice on camping under pines with the problem of pine sap getting on everything. No. I didn't yawn when you did. Fully awake!
great video luke, now thats how you stealth camp for real. Im going to give it a try once the temps cool a bit here in eastern nc. highs in the 90's nite lows in the 70's. keep the vids coming i really enjoy each one.
Thank you very much my friend. About Crocs, everyone I talk to loves them but I've never tried them out. If I'm crossing water and have to get wet I will simple do it barefoot. Of course each location is different though.
Also wanted to say that the marpat field tarp looks awesome! Been shopping around for one, but can't find a brand new 1 at a decent price. Don't trust ordering a used one. Prob order one straight from ORC, Industries eventually. Just seems to be a more durable tarp than what I currently have. Also, that bivy is a great bit of kit. I have the woodland MSS and it's prob 1 of the best purchases I've made thus far. Can't go wrong with Military gear for the most part. Thanks again/great vids! Mike
Awesome video. I've never tried stealth camping looks like fun and where you are a heck of a lot of exercise. Here where I live the biggest problem with coyote's is the have been known to take pet's and you need to be careful with small children. When we were kids we tried some heated dog food, not bad but when we looked at the ingredients well... Thanks for sharing your experience's.
I have always been taught that you should NOT heat your food directly in the can. Unless the can is made out of steel. It have been proved that some brands of cans can leak metal into the food if heated. Just wanted to tell you. Love your videos and stay safe. :)
if you have to have a fire while stealth camping use the dekoda fire hole. there is lots of videos on how to make one. you still have some smoke but you can have a fire that is not seen from far away and you can leave no trace that there was a fire there.
I own a Photography studio north of Chicago and contractual obligations often preclude my ability to get away for any meaningful back country excursions. Stealth camping in local forest preserves for a night or two is what I most frequently do for my sanity. I simply use satellite view on my smart phone to locate water sources and avoid housing & commercial development. While I dislike hiking when the temps are above 70...I'm heading out in about an hour for a one-nighter.
Cool trip, my kind of little adventure. My question is, if you want to be truly 'stealth', why warm up the soup at all? In that kind of weather it should be fine. Not the biggest deal, I'm just curious. Looked like a fun time, keep 'em comin'!
I found your videos while cruising RUclips using Roku on my TV. At first I found your style kind of annoying and excessively "perky" but after looking at other videos it became clear that you are doing a first rate job of conveying both information and excitement about the outdoors and the adventures. I'm still not sure I'd like to hike & camp with you if you really are this chatty when the camera is off but - I'm hooked! Your enthusiasm has me thinking about getting back out there again. Haven't been able to for many reasons which have lasted years now but I sure have a lot to think about. BTW- I figured out where you passed thru on your way to this camp spot. I don't know where you camped but some of the views you shared are pretty unique. (Google Earth is not your friend!) I too have the question about whether you are concerned with being captured on a trail cam. And finally, walking out in the open in the cleared areas while hoping to remain undetected probably isn't the best technique. And your clothing choice appears to be more oriented toward detecting ticks than being undetected (white pants). But in the final analysis - you're out there DOING IT ! (while I'm sitting on my butt wishing I were out there doing it) Rock on!
S&H. I like. My Harley is named Spartan. I enjoy your vids and figured I reach out to you. I carry the FILBE assault pack, it fits wonderfully as we are near same hieght but I have more weight. I cannot find your loadout vid for this Coyote stealth camp. I would like see more of your loadouts. I have been on trail for 30 (40?)ish years. Keep the core values coming and keep up those adventures. I am 50 now, still climb towers, still taking the back trails. Respect and est to you and the family. As for the haters and couch 'taters, get up, ruck up and do it. BoJereicho
I've got tablets, drops, steripen but no filters. In my area the water we have doesn't really call for that sort of care. Most that I know that carry the Katadyn end up selling them. I have one friend who threw his away. It takes too much work. It's heavy (especially when wet).
Just came across your vid on the what to watch feed on the homepage and when I seen that UV light for water purification I was thinking "Oh god, he isn't gonna trust that is he?" but knowing it didn't make you sick is just mind blowing....could be quite the addition to my kit....definitely going to check out your other vid on it!
I use a Sony RX100 pocket camera as of late. I also use a Nikon D600 when I feel like attempting a good photo now and then. I always wanted a 5D MK for their excellent video capabilities.
Love your videos bro. You know how to make the people watching your video feel like we are actually right there with you on your adventure. That is pretty hard to do, but you pull it off as natural as can be. I did want to just give you my personal opinion on the soup you heated up. Campbell's Chunky is awesome soup, but Progresso soups are just so much better. They are the same price, but have more actual meats, veggies, potatoes, etc. and are just more heartier meals for the money and the flavor is a lot more rich and full. Give one of your favorite soups a try with the Progresso brand and you be the judge. I believe you will be pleasantly surprised. Thanks again for the videos you make and post. I really enjoy watching your adventures. Good luck and your next journey, Cheers
I love how the southern woods and mountains have such a different feel than their northern cousins. I wonder if those were red wolves instead of coyotes !? I sometimes watch a cam from a wolf center in NY. The red wolves have a very unique howl. ? In August they wood have busy yappy youngsters in tow. 🤔
Old video, but still good. That growth on the tree was a Burl. like an unfinished growth, or some say tree cancer. However cut them off and they make awesome kuksa's or bowls when carved.
Why did it take me so long to sub! Want to be a Nomad? Covet thy worth! My motto of the month! "My theological consideration maintains that I conceive my authority. Otherwise, none exists..." .It's just a belief in my opinion. Check out my channel. What do you believe?
Hi Luke, I know this video is almost a year old, I just stumbled across it, I like the MARPAT tarp because of the amount of exposed dirt in that area, but if you're in an area with more ground cover or conifer (which I don't usually see much of in your area) you might want to consider a CADPAT digital tarp, it's very good for bright green foliage and dense undergrowth (Yay Canada!). I love your videos bro, keep it up. I'm Canadian and I love the CADPAT stuff for around here, I lost a couple pieces of kit because it works so good. ha ha. Take Care brother!
Excellent video. I bet that 2nd water bottle came in handy in that sun. The esbit folding stove would hold those food cans pretty nicely if you did not know already, but the rocks worked nicely and cost less! The cheaper fuel cubes smell MUCH worse. How many miles did you log on this trip? There was a rare coyote attack recently in colorado.
Hey Luke I know that you love your country style baked beans ( In Germany you only get the baked beans with tomato sauce :-( ), but it's not healthy to heat up the tin cans directly on a fire. The inner surface of most modern tin cans is lined with a plastic coating.
Hey there Dennis, how are you brother? Beans with Tomato Sauce.....how is that? In regards to heating up tin cans, this is how I look at it; In the United States most can are made of steel while beverage cans are usually made out of aluminum. Chromium and nickel can find their way out of steel, but the amounts will be almost nothing. Aluminum is completely different though as it has been linked to nervous system disorders and other health problems. Concerning the liner of the can; some companies are moving to baked-on, BPA-free enamel lining derived from plant oils and resins. Does that make it safer; well no one knows for sure. Heating food in the can is a common practice with campers, hikers and bushcrafters and I have never heard of any issues personally. Long term...who knows. When I do it, I heat it slowly and make sure not to burn the liner and the contents. For anyone that is concerned about this, use a pot. ;)
TheOutdoorGearReview Thanks for your reply Luke. I think the baked beans you can get here are british style baked beans. They taste ok but the next days I'll try to mix my beans here with some BBQ sauce finding out how your country style beans taste. Back to the tin cans. The food tin cans here in Germany have all coating (with or without bpa, I don't know) and so I think I'll take a pot to eat them. :-) You can try to heat them slowly on a fire but I don't want something of the coating in my food. When you take a look on the flame of a candle, there are temperatures of 600 to 1200 °C ( 1112 °F to 2192 °F). I think one good way to heat them up is to put the tin can in a water filled cook pot and then on the fire.
Man, I'll never get used to how the sun behaves where you live and hike, Luke. Over here in the middle of South America, you already have bright direct sunlight come 6:00AM, and at about 5:30PM, you can't see jack anymore without an artificial light source. Dem coyotes must've been on a contest for who would be the new poster cub for the channel! Tell us, which one impressed you more? Did it get the job? lol
My wife got the Lyme and truly it was a pain in the bum, we prayed and she got healed after spending thousands of dollars and not been able to heal her with the modern medicine.
Can’t believe that I hadn’t come across your videos sooner. Been bush crafting for some time. More from a prepping standpoint. Love the forest. It’s hard to come home but the wife says I need to. Enjoying your videos. You have a great attitude. 🙏

Double thumbs up for this video Luke. Please keep them coming ... Thanks for another great awesome vid that you had shared. Take care and stay well.
Luke! You should look into incorporating some kind of small mini map in the corner of the screen. How cool would that be!?
And an ammo counter
I completely understand my friend. Campsites and real life camping are two very different things.
Thank you for watching and commenting my friend. Be well. Enjoy the quality time with your daughter.

Truly the most bad ass trip you've done so far. This was cool as hell!!!

LOL! Good one!

I like this guy's positive attitude. Makes the video entertaining and makes me want to get back out hiking again.
***** Thank you very much.
It's time to get back into it.

Hi Luke great video mate, just found your channel and I love it love your enthusiasm everything is brilliant, and yes I yawned every time you did. keep up the great work mate cheers

Stealth camp videos are my crack! keep up the great content, Luke!
I really love these vids where people show their whole camping trip. Awesome man, keep it up!
Thanks for this video you always make it like we are walking right with you keep up the overnights it's fun to watch when you go out with your wife too stay safe and healthy God Bless you
I sure did Chris. I believe in not leaving a trace.
Thanks for responding Luke, I really appreciate it! You have an outstanding attitude my friend and your vids are some of the best on here. Look forward to many more from you. Take care brother.
They definitely were! Thanks Nate.
Your ninjaing abilities are impressive Luke, may the force be with you.
Lancelot Xavier are you his father?
That’s Jedi Powers to you!😂
Thank you so much my friend.
This journey was epic man, the coyotes and thunderheads with all the other scenery while being a stealhike/camp is just awesome. And no, none of your yawns got to me, haha.
OMG that guy standing watching you when you were in camp was spooky as hell !!!!!!
+Kris Douglas Where in the video was that Kris? - Luke
+TheOutdoorGearReview hi Luke just teasing ;)
time to pack some heat!
Sure thing brother. Thank you for watching.
Just awesome. Your vids are some of the best camping series. The coyotes audio was awesome. Just curious, what type of camera gear do you use? I'm a huge photo geek.
That trail cut in the forrest reminds me of something out of a Thomas Kincad painting......what an amazing area
OMG. That picture of the cloud formation! Wowsers. Will remember your advice on camping under pines with the problem of pine sap getting on everything. No. I didn't yawn when you did. Fully awake!
You're a brave man for trusting only the Steripen brother. Love your videos btw. Keep 'em coming.
Keep "Luking" ahead.
I love your channel sir. Each episode is amazing.
Thank you!
I'll be honest my friend, at first I was pretty concerned about it but over the years it has earned a place in my kit. No doubt about it.
great video luke, now thats how you stealth camp for real.
I thought of that too but it didn't look right to me. I might have to venture back up there and find that tree. Might make a video out it. :)
The part at the end with the coyotes was pretty cool.
My dog loves the opening scene. He is looking everywhere for coyotes!
Haha What type of dog do you have?
Be well mate.
- Luke
I have a German Shepherd. He knows some of the local fauna. We live in coyote/fox/mtn lion country up in the Rocky Mountains of CO @ 8850 ft.
Love your videos man. I love hiking so much and this is a perfect way to see how you do it. I subbed :)
I have never backpacked so I'm watching your channel. I always learn some thing.
Thank you my friend.
Thank you so much mdli04!
This brought me back to 1986 reminded me of our drinking spot
On Top of the hill at Chestnut Ridge Middle School .
Have you been to Dolly Sods Wilderness in NE West Virginia? It's a bit of a drive, but it is worth it.
Super funny when you run along the side of the field and knowing that you have to come back for your camera! Haha
Also wanted to say that the marpat field tarp looks awesome! Been shopping around for one, but can't find a brand new 1 at a decent price. Don't trust ordering a used one. Canon or Nikon?
Using your smartphone and the satellite view is a great idea!!!
if you have to have a fire while stealth camping use the dekoda fire hole. there is lots of videos on how to make one. you still have some smoke but you can have a fire that is not seen from far away and you can leave no trace that there was a fire there.
That's very true! Where I was it would have been difficult to dig one. So many roots and rocks.
Great suggestion though.

Jiggity1982 Thank you brother for the suggestion. I'm going to do a little searching for some CADPAT.
Cheers my friend.

Thanks Alan. Be well brother.
Awesome! Keep the videos coming, better than cable tv!
I do like your usmc bivy. Its nice to have that bug net to seal u into the bivy
It's definitely a great bivy but I do wish it was bigger though.

That is still a bit warm to be in a tent at night. I personally don't like temps to be over 60 if i can help it.
Thanks for watching mate.
Wow, Great Video! This looks exciting. Using Google Earth before going out could be useful.
Your music has gotten so much better! Lol. Still, great vid as always.
+NewHampshire Bound Good deal!

Absolutely Mike! If I come across a tarp in a good condition I will let you know.
Take care brother.
Thank you so much. Means a lot.
Awesome! Haha I appreciate that amigo.
I see you have been busy making vids, I have a lot to catch up on ! Great to see you active
Another COOL video Luke:) thanks for sharing :)
Man there were active! That is what I heard all night long. haha
Some funky music going on there Luke. It took me back to the past.
For anyone that is concerned about this, use a pot. ;)

Thanks for your reply Luke.
Awesome vid !
love the cloud timelapse !!!
Thanks JD.
Take care.

Thank you so much. :)
The inside of cans are coated with plastic spray. It's most likely not "that" bad for you, but, now you know.
Just got my mid spring camping location idea.... somewhere southern indiana
Great video
Sounds awesome brother. Have a great time.
Did it get the job? lol
Gunner193 Hahaha The 3rd Coyote in the group won! haha
Thank you my friend.
