Here in the north I definitely use that tab on the collar! I have the BR N1 jacket, which has been great except every button on the front has pulled off over time, so I lost patience and replaced them by sewing on slotted buttons a la Canadian military parka style. Much better.
Great jacket and great fit. Perfect for the cold winter months. Interesting to me that the Alpaca and wool blend lining is really versatile and has a large range of temperatures (my experience 10°-60° F). Great score on ebay!
I am very fortunate to have the Iron Heart N1in khaki and the A2 in olive and I love them both. My only issue is, though certainly not a deal breaker, because I am going to get an olive N1 is the alpaca/wool lining can be a bit itchy on my skin.
@@ynysvon yeah that has been my experience with a variety of alpaca linings- some are more itchy than others. It doesn’t bother me but I know for some it’s annoying
Great fit. I own two of these by Buzz Ricksons, the one in navy and the khaki. I love them, they’re great for the cold. I’m curious as to how they’ll come out of the wash once I do wash them. I’ve seen the vintage khaki ones get a kind of marbley patina with time, amd I wonder if that’s due to washing among other things. I do like the blue on blue colour by the way. Very sailorish. I usuall wear both of mine with off-white woolens.
I got the Cockpit USA version of this jacket. It’s mostly fine, but boy does it run big! I ordered the Large, but I’m swimming in it. I wish I’d ordered the Medium.
Not super high. I have bigger arms relative to my size and I tried it with a sweater (briefly 😅). It fit comfortably. Also, if you do end up buying, would be great if you don’t mind following one of my links! Helps keep the RUclips lights on!
No prob. I’m 5’9” 175 pounds and just over 40” chest. This is a medium. I wear a large in the UHF western. Are you planning to buy in person or online? Most online retailers I can share an affiliate link for you to use, if you wouldn’t mind. It’s a big help

Beautiful jacket, I have mine for few years now and it's my daily driver, enjoy

Good point! Will probably have a few days or weeks where that tab will make sense, just not there right now
why didnt you roll up the collar?
Great jacket and it looks like it fits you perfectly.
Cheers!
@@shmac96 I was so hot 😂 Did it last night and it was great

Thanks man! Wore it today for a short hike with the fam, in the 50s and chilly in the shade. Was great just over a long sleeve tee!
Got one in Olive, great jacket! Love Deck jackets! Trophy Clothing have one that is great also, got one in navy.
Nice! Yes it seems like there are quite a few makers to choose from

Nice! Yes I’m not sure but it’s possible this one was washed? The alpaca lining kinda looks like it. Or it could have just been worn a fair bit

Oh dang. Yeah that kind of sizing mishap is super annoying
Great jacket ! Nice to see a doxa too, don't see many of those too often.
@@YashGupta0502 thanks! My buddy was looking at the Doxa selection so got it to have a shared piece!
I have the same color but alpaca lining, great fitting jacket also bought thrifted in japan for about $224 Iron heart ihm-29 in small🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
This is great! I was wondering how high are the armpits? Thinking to get one, but if it's fitted too slim, might not work for me :(

Hope you live in a cold area that gets real winters. That thing is heavy duty.
Hey Skeeter! I’m now in North Carolina…chilly enough for me considering I’m from south Louisiana which is sub tropical 😂
