What a trip down memory lane. My buddy had a 409 bored 40 thousandths and aligned bored by Luther Costales in Houston Texas including Howard's aluminum rods, Jahn's power-slot pistons and a Chevrolet mystery cam ? (Z-11 ) I don't remember but that A-Stock street Impala SS would run 12'5 s @ Green Valley, Yello Belly, Little River and many, many street races against 406's, 348's, 426's,383's, 390's, the most surprising one's were the 300 HP Chevy 327's, what fun back in the day.
@@scootergeorge9576 the only history I grew up with was the release of the iphone, I always wonder what it was like to grow up in a time when it was the norm to have a v8 coupe the size of a european town
Sweet Rides love the Coronet and the 409 Chevys the 60's was a awesome time to be alive I wish I was alive then but I was born in 79 when the fun was long gone and muscle cars were the thing of the past
I recall seeing some of these drag cars in match races at Vargo Dragway near Quakertown, PA in the early, mid-sixties. This video is really nostalgic. Thanx.
I’m a steel press worker if you are forming 18-20 gauge steel in dies and switch to 24 gauge steel in the same dies you will not get a good form, that’s the reason for the wrinkles.
A friend of mine inherited a 62 Impala 409 with double four barrel carbs . He never would want to sell it to me . When he sold it he avoided me for a year because he knew how much I wanted it . Never understood why he kept it from me . I think it was a power trip . “ I have it and you don’t “ kind of thing .
Saw that and was all like, "He going to do a 90s Japanese super car?!?." Maybe someday. But I don't see why that can't be now. They're classic exotics!
yea, but have YOU NOT seen this show before!!!!!!!!!!... I mean were you even alive in the 90's!!!!!!!!!. this show started in 1996, this is what the show does!!!!!!!!!. So TF are you complaining about!?!?!?!?
"That engine just sounds so strong"- All I hear is some canned psuedo-surf bed music. WHY do You Tube video and car channels think we want to hear someone's background music when the CARS THEMSELVES make all the music we want to hear?
@@samhaines8228 yeah, alot of those old muscle cars (and even some new ones)Sound just as great as a Led Zeppelin concert (and that's really saying something!!!!).
Any? Be serious! I owned a 1964 Plymouth Valiant convertible with the 225 slant 6 and push button automatic. Nice car but not competing with a 409. on the other hand, my '67 GTX, 440, 4 speed, 4.10 posi and headers would handle a "W Motor" 409.
this guy just likes driving other peoples cars LOL and really this other guy has a nice collection but really what about us homegrown people that have some kick ass cars? we dont get noticed ? we might not be millionaires but we still have the same hot rod blood running through our veins. Maybe I will start a youtube show called " Whats in your garage "
If you watch more "My classic car" episodes, you will find that he goes to many car shows, speaks to different owners (not all rich folks) and drives other peoples cars so we get to see what its like to drive them instead of the owners driving themselves. He goes to rich folks homes/museums to show cars we would otherwise never get to see. He also owns a few really nice old fords. Dennis is kinda corny (sorry Dennis) but he grows on you,
I wish Dennis was a REAL car guy. He is totally clueless about the cars he features and is not at all comfortable around them. His comments and questions are amateurish. Definitely not a gear head.
@@MyClassicCarTV wrong asshole. I owned two Plymouth Roadrunners and was racing them in the Sixties. I knew the answers to all of the questions you asked. 11 SECONDS?! Thats fast even by today's standarts! Like, it should gap almost everything in today's streets 💪😎
My absolute favorite Chevrolet....409 Bel Air... The Coronet is another amazing machine... I remember them when they were new !
I used to go to the Plymouth dealer while in high school and look at the new Plymouth Roadrunners. 1968-69

Grand Spalding Dodge. If you lived around Chicago in that era you new that name!

The black '62 bubbletop Bel Air - too gorgeous.
426 Hemi super stock. Feel the thunder ....
That's a sweet ride 🔥 American muscle 👍
so much art and history here, great video
He's got a Toyota in his garage...LOL.😂🤣😁

Ford Thunderbolt would take that Dodge out anytime.
Fun fun fun.
Hey Dennis Gage, that is a MoPar Cross-Ram intake. This time you could have said it and been right...lol
Omggg that sexy supra but the other cars are special too

Anyone see the girl with the baby? She may as well had been looking at a Toyota Camry.
May as well had been?
SWEET CARS.
Awesome
Remember my challenger R/T 440 was able to do 65 1st gear and not redline 145 was 4800 rpm still had till 7500in 4ththat was orange then 8500 red
Now you can get a 9 second grocery getter like a Tesla or Demon.

He’s got a supra too
It's his wife's. ...and she daily drives it.
That's the story I'm going with. Girl's got taste.
Original funny car
Chrysler manual steering boxes were always aluminum regardless of the car.
I thought so too
Best collection ever
i like the variety, but jay leno has by far the most insan collection id say lol
13:1 compression pump gas or nah?
Pleat Bros.
Lightweight... Thats funny. Most peopoe couldn't even drive one them cars on the street or strip now
Uh, “lightweight” refers to the fact that weight has been removed so that it weighs less and therefore goes even faster.🙄
Strickler and grumpy
In 65 , grumpy drove a mopar 😬
Dyno Don!!!
Look like tin foil front inner fenders!
Any mopar will clean up on that 409 mopar or no car

The latter is the champion. Really neat car 426 car.
I watch this too much, No, I don't!!
How about old paint that has led in it and that is going on the grass and to the ground when doing that dustless blasting?
Snl
LMAO!! Oh no we are all going to die lol
A lot of weight lost with an alloy steering box,, a lot of strength too!
It really only needs to go straight. 😬
@@MyClassicCarTV - You are correct, Sir!
Only 425 horsepower @ idle...........
that paint has to go somewhere, right
