Earpad replacement on Sony WH-CH500 (How to DIY)

whats going to blow you mind is that [1:26] right by your thumb is a slot that you insert the lip of the pad. once in you rotate then ear pad in a circle. this installs perfect everytime

instead of placing your thumb and holding the pad, you can clearly see the cutout for easy replacement at the beginning where you start the process. you were supposed to place the lip trough that cutout and just rotate the pad and that's it. 😅😅

Other way It’s very easy to put the lip on the cut and rotate the cusion 360 degrees.

I can't do this. I was messing around with my headphones and accidentally pulled off the cushion. I tried putting the lip thing into the crack like you did, but it just doesn't work. At best I can get about half of the cushion into the crack, but with the other half in I have to stretch the cushion and if I too hard the first half comes out, but if I stretch it too little it doesn't go into the crack. This is very tedious to do and I'm wondering if there's an easier way to do this? Or at least is there something I'm doing wrong? Your video makes it look so easy, but I've spent an hour trying to do it and it just doesn't work

Also I just noticed that the lip of the replacement cushion you're using seems to be about double the size of the lip of the cushion that the headphones come with, so I'm wondering of it's even possible

Hi, you could try to warm up the lip a little with a blow dryer. The lip should become more flexible then.

A total pain to replace these ear pads. Not your fault but shame on sony. My old pair started to flake small pieces of fake leather in my ears and everywhere. The problem with replacing these is that sometimes you'll get 40% through and the entire pad pops off. lousy :(
