Thanks for the informative video and congrats on 1M! I'll be waiting to see the experience of others using Windows 11 on unsupported devices, so guys tell me how it goes! Definitely will come back to this video later :P
The stupidest part is Microsoft now "supporting" some gen 7 intel processors, but not others. Like, they did add the i5 7640X to the list of "supported" processors but not the i7 7700K, which not only has more cache, but also has more threads. It would be a lot better if we could get some exact words behind their reasoning as to why some processors are supported and others aren't. Why would the i5 7640X (Which should be noted is found on the Microsoft Surface Studio 2 Laptop) be supported and not the i7 7700K? It is the same generation after all and both of those CPU's have almost the exact same features.. This also raises the question a lot of people may have: If Microsoft were so strict about their hardware requirements, stating that you could outright damage your computer if it wasn't supported, why have they opened up the support for previous "unsupported hardware? Microsofts latest update have also been applied to unsupported hardware, so what exactly is happening here. Do you REALLY need to meet all of their requirements to have a smooth experience on WIndows 11?
The exact reasoning is simple, make money, sell more devices. Even if Microsoft does not make the device they make money from charging OEMs for windows licences on new computers.
I was able to install it on a msi gt72 dragon edition and the ge72vr both with the i7 7700 with the bypass and windows 11 runs very stable on the i7 7700HQ, But the bypass wouldn't let me install it on a msi gs70 stealth pro. for some reason it wouldn't pass the TPM 2.0 check on the gs70. The gs70 is my brothers laptop I was trying to help him update. And I just sold my old ge72 to my mother for 300 dollars, as I have the gt72 and i have a ge75 here as well but it's supported without issues.

Hi Kevin. Thank you for your awesome video tutorials, they're great. I learn a lot from them. I'm struggling to find a reliable way to use a whiteboard with my online lessons. Using my mouse isn't the best way to write on my computer. Is there a way where I can use my tablet as the writing device?
PSA: the blocked updates pertain only to TPM (vulnerability patches etc). OS level updates are not blocked. Don't bother trying to force these updates or install them if you don't have TPM, it would be like installing drivers or updates for a sound card you don't even own (same principle). BONUS: The boys at MSDN were discussing desktop alerts down the line (amber/presidential/emergency alerts) which suggests a direct connection to some Govt agency that would be pushing these alerts. I am personally going to avoid Win11 and just continue running Win10 in a VM (FreeBSD as a daily driver is grand!)
Microsoft: You will never need another Windows version now you have Windows 10, we will just keep updating it for you. Forever. Me: Yeah right, we'll see. I bet pigs will fly before that happens.
@DST_inD lol. In my mind, I had made the update (you know how it goes😅). Everything is smooth. I haven't faced any challenges so far. All the drivers I regularly make use of are working well, and I'm getting updates. Even my WSL is stable. In a nutshell, I'm happy I made the switch to Windows 11.
It worked for me if that helps anyone, i was upgrading from a win 10, my pc specs are intel i3-230m (2nd gen) 8 gb ram, it even updated with no issue, i even checked the update history to confirm , it runs smooth, i have no issues at all , 100% recomend this video
Oddly enough, I have an older Latitude e7250 that I keep around for the odd time I need a second Windows machine. It installed Windows 11 fresh without a problem once I turned on secure boot and turned on TPM in the bios. The chip is an Atmel, version 66.5 and is TPM 1.2. During the install, there was no mention of incompatibility. I did not perform the registry hacks. This is an older i7-5600U processor, so absolutely should not take Windows 11, but it did and runs pretty good, to be honest.
Also runs very well on my 2007 Dell Inspiron 1520, I gained some noticeable performance over Windows 10, but I had a hard time with the drivers (also this thing doesn’t even support UEFI) I am not worried about security updates, if Microsoft stops providing them there will be some workarounds as neither TPM 2.0 or UEFI and secure boot are real hardware requirements. Weird that Microsoft let you install Windows 11 out of the box. In my case I just modify the ISO.
My fear is if Microsoft stops providing security updates after a while. I have retired many Android phones because they stopped receiving updates after 2 years. I would have loved to used them longer but it's a pain knowing other phones are upto date on security while mine's a sitting duck. How long has Microsoft claimed to support Windows 10 systems in terms of security updates?
Thanks for this.. It worked first time. you can't beat seeing how to do it rather than reading instructions.. I have Winn 11 working on a Lenovo Yoga 520 with Pentium Gold CPU just fine! Admittedly it has a 256Gb NVMe SSD but still...
What about the the Windows serial key, does that need to be entered when using the ISO? Also can you just download a windows 10 ISO and clear your drive to go back with your old key?

Thanks for the informative video and congrats on 1M! I'll be waiting to see the experience of others using Windows 11 on unsupported devices, so guys tell me how it goes! Definitely will come back to this video later :P
its two motnhs'
Hi. I give you a subscription. Not for Windows 11 and the trick to bypass the fucking requirements of Misrosoft, but because you make great videos..
You're not a cocky youngster, you're just yourself and I like that about you..
Please excuse my bad english, I used google translate. I'm just an elderly guy and I'm from the fucking Czech Republic. 🙂
that's the easiest tutorial i ever watched thanks a lot
Thanks for this. I was so frustrated to learn my laptop was compliant except for the CPU, which is a 7th gen Intel I5. (has TPM 2.0)
Many thanks worked a treat and updates work as well. For now anyway.. Thanks. From the UK
So happy to see him touching the 1M milestone so soon. ❤️
Now should we all select "DWORD (32-bit) Value" even on 64-bit processors?
yes
Thank you so much man! It actually worked!
do you get to keep your stuff? or it deletes them all?
hello kevin. I've followed everything step by step but I'm still getting the error message display TBM & this pc must support secure boot. any idea what could be causing this message to display please. thank you

Hi Kevin. Thank you for your awesome video tutorials, they're great. I learn a lot from them. I'm struggling to find a reliable way to use a whiteboard with my online lessons. Using my mouse isn't the best way to write on my computer. Is there a way where I can use my tablet as the writing device?
WOW Easy clear instuctions and i like how its not like the other videos that beg for subscribers for 3 minutes of the video
If you can't get a new pc install Linux. Problem solved.
I haven't bothered to get windows 11 yet. Who here has and what are your thoughts?
Microsoft: You will never need another Windows version now you have Windows 10, we will just keep updating it for you. Forever.
Me: Yeah right, we'll see. I bet pigs will fly before that happens.
Tried this one my i5 7th gen. Will let you know how it goes within the next 10 days. Thanks Kev
Will be waiting.
Were waiting brian.

Finally my old laptop is ready for an adventure
mine is tagging along xD
It still said that i dont meet the requirements after ive done everything
Yeah man same did you find any solution?
Also runs very well on my 2007 Dell Inspiron 1520, I gained some noticeable performance over Windows 10, but I had a hard time with the drivers (also this thing doesn’t even support UEFI)
I am not worried about security updates, if Microsoft stops providing them there will be some workarounds as neither TPM 2.0 or UEFI and secure boot are real hardware requirements.
Did you have to make Registry hack shown in this video or is it unnecessary?
In my case, it's showing does not meet requirement after setup process
Thanks for this.. It worked first time. you can't beat seeing how to do it rather than reading instructions.. I have Winn 11 working on a Lenovo Yoga 520 with Pentium Gold CPU just fine! Admittedly it has a 256Gb NVMe SSD but still...
What about the the Windows serial key, does that need to be entered when using the ISO? Also can you just download a windows 10 ISO and clear your drive to go back with your old key?
If your Windows is activated it will still be after updating, no need to enter the key anywhere :)
Didn't work on my PC. :(
Your video are absolutely blow mind .EASY TO FOLLOW extremely well done and the language used is not annoying at all.I wish everyone making video was good as you, because sometimes is very painful to find very good video can give you straight to the point solution like this one
Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the tips.
Just installed Win 11 from the .iso file last night after adding the line in the Registry. It works Thanks!
I have a question on the Win 11 Start Menu. After adding several links (shared LAN folders) to the Start Menu. I was able to move two of the links to the top row so they are visible in the App menu. However when I removed some of the Apps I don’t need from the App menu (e.g. Spotify, TikTok, WhatsApp) I could no longer see other links I added previously on the Start Menu. How can I make them visible? Is this a bug on Win 11?
Thanks
Jason

Please ignore the above. Everything works fine after the system was rebooted.
All items show up on the Start Menu and I can rearrange them.

Looks like it is working on my Dell XPS. Thanks for taking the time to post.
just want to say thanks your the best . you made it so easy and I have now got windows 11 on my old Dell pc
Kevin you are the best! You have become my Go-To Guru for all thing computer!! 😁
I did this method last night with keeping my files. It ran VERY smoothly. Even more smooth than windows 10. Mind you my pc has a i5 7200u that only has 2 cores with hyper threading. For better performance I installed 16GB ram and a NVME ssd. Runs like a dream for everyday simple tasks
My laptop only has an unsupported CPU and I am more than certain that it's capable of running Windows 11, however, I feel scared to take this risk because I do not want to incur any problems with software updates and patches. If I install Windows 11, I want it to update regularly to the latest version. I do not want to be cut off from software updates.
What do you say about this?
