We bought a maroon coloured Favorit LX in March 1990. It was a great little car that served us well. This takes me back and I'd have another with the carburetor tomorrow. It was more fun to drive than the Bosch monotronic injection that came later. We did over 100,000 miles in our little Fav.
Using the unwarranted search of a vehicle as the theme to introduce a Czech car was an ironic choice, given that's something Eastern Bloc police were famous for doing.
I had two of these as family run arounds - my kids learned to drive in them They were snobby about the car at first, but several of their mates were impressed with the Skoda compared to their old Corsas and Fiesta. Great little cars.
Bought 1989 low mileage favorit 2 years ago from my friends grandad... Will try to get new paint and some work done and will keep it... Take it out on Sunday for nice steady drive...😁
Im goona buy it too for a very low money but needs some work into it mine will be 1991-1992,i also buy a manual book of Skoda Favorit in my language to learn more about it
I remember beening shown this video with other senior distributors, then they took use to the car and the specification where totally different there was 136lx and 136LS They came with a brown interior and brown and beige dash Not what was shown sunroof only on LS The LS came with a different seat material it was a begin square velour pattern with different shaped seat and padded head rests all round plus 60 /40 folding rear seat and carpeted boot lx came with steel wheel and black plastic hub trim . Ls got rev counter lx got a clock Ls got front fog lights No rear wash wipe on lx but stalk and wiring was in place plus the whole was in the body work with black rubber gromit see skoda GB removed the rear wash wipe then sold it as an add on did not go down well with dealer and was change within a few weeks. Sunroof was skoda GB item fitted 8n kings lynn not factory. As a distributor we offered a better aftermarket roof than skoda and cheaper. those side stripes only on ls not lx . The launch was a shambles ls would arrive with different interior trims seats head rest basically it was pot luck. The door pockets where made of very cheap plastic it was embarrassing as skoda gb had ramped the prices up to vauxhall and Ford but quality was toy town 50mpg not on your life at steady 55mph u got 30 mpg Take it to 70 25mpg it's was not good. Later fuel injection made things better within 6 months the car had go through so many update . Then vw took over. Quality shot up over night.

love my old Skoda Felicia 16years old and still runs perfectly the only problem is Rust it's so bad it's eaten the rear wings and is coming into the car so sadly an Mot failure no amount of welding can fix
I loved these and the previous estelle especially 130 coupe. 1300 ohv engine was like old Ford ohvs last forever if maintained. I wish we could still buy base level cars like these. I am getting on and have had many cars and your needs change as you age and the congested shite quality roads we have suit these cars. Over the years my favourite cars were renault 4 and 6. Skodas and would buy a renault 6 tomorrow. Currently drive mk1 petrol berlingo a proper do it all car. Not fast neither slow.
Jo no, sedačky základní verze L, ten měl tyhle obyčejný. Pak jim ty sedačky angláni zkritizovali (a teda oprávněně, v našem Favoritu už jsme je taky měnili za novější) a začali tam dodávat sedačky jako v modelu LS/GLX, kde jsou opěrky tlustší; a látkový

What a good video, and a tribute to the advanced engineering of Skoda cars
Good old Skoda and their toolkit :)

I absolutely love my little Favorit!
It came from a VHS tape that is owned by an ex-Skoda employee.
Skoda UK promo film for the Favorit with a road test by Steve Rider.
my grandad had a favorit 136 lx on a G reg it was such a reliable vehicle and very comfortable all round
A workmate bought one of these new and it never gave him a days bother.Skoda never looked back, look at them now,not cheap
How the Brits used to ridicule Skoda and now they can’t get enough of them. I always liked them, good no nonsense affordable cars back then.
żaden samochód nie ma w sobie takiego czaru jak favorit
Looks like this one has not been on the road since 1996
i like this pub about Skoda UK ...... and the radio K7 equipment lovely 80' !:)

This must have cost Skoda UK a huge part of their promotional budget.
The car in the video wasn't taxed after 1996...is it still lurking in someone's garage, or has it gone to the great car park in the sky?

Is the taller cop wearing an eyeliner?!?! :-D
Still taxed this Favorit was Registered January 1989
The favorit was the turning point for skoda, leading to VW's interest and dramatic sales expansion, whilst silencing those idiotic so-called comedians
The spanners in the tool kit were no good they would brake
ty opěrky hlavy dost odbyli
