Okay... Joey has so many beautiful, venomous snakes that can take him out... So why does it feel like this is the one that will send him to the hospital? 😅
When I was about 8 years old I was fascinated by the stiletto snake found locally here in KwaZulu-Natal and one day my house worker came inside shouting that she had seen a snake, I went outside to find my older brother already free handling a fully grown specimen claiming "wow this house snake I so dark and has no pattern"... he was bitten on the index finger and was lucky to not loose the finger but he did spend a week in hospital.

@AsdfGhjkl-bd5mh but it still seems as though defense animals, known for being ambush predators, would get stressed from being out in the open that long, with hundreds of people walking by, whether they handled it or not.
It’s mostly for easy shipment. When people get animals at reptile shows, they go home asap. Having them in these temporary containers is the easiest way to take them if on a car ride. If shipping across a state or country, they would be bagged and put in boxes secured with many additional items (there’s videos on this if needed).
@AsdfGhjkl-bd5mh I guess you weren’t watching around 01:34 when the cobra in the plastic container was casually tapped and picked up by a guy, who I’m assuming bought it. Those ones were not behind the mesh. The mesh seemed to have smaller baby snakes behind it, or more valuable ones at least, while most of the ones out in the open were either grown or more common… such as that cobra, mangrove snakes, various rattlesnakes, and puff adders, among others… but clearly there was no wire or mesh over them.
My friend’s daughter in Zimbabwe sat down on some grass outside and got bitten by a Stiletto snake. She managed to catch the snake so her parents could identify it and treat her appropriately. Her mom was calm and kept her daughter calm. They nursed the bite as her hand and arm swelled up. She pulled through and made a full recovery without any amputation or any significant scarring. Later the daughter released the snake into the wild.
