People may call this approach in many different ways: digital laryngeal massage techniques, vocal massage techniques, circumlaryngeal massage, larynx massage, throat massage, self massage techniques, vocal massage, vocal cord massage, self massage neck, and more. But the truth is that this technique is not for everyone. Laryngeal massage voice therapy is commonly used to reduce vocal tension or throat tension. I always say that only do what feels comfortable for you. Never force anything. Even though most people can achieve relaxed throat muscles, laryngeal massage for speakers and singers is not a magical cure for everything. If you want to try this approach, click the link above. Also, get your laryngeal massage handout on the link above.

You are so very kind! I am not sure I am glowing. I really don't do much with my skin. Maybe it's the lighting? I really appreciate your kind words.

Thank you madam. Is there any specific voice exercises for spasmodic dysphonia?

No. There are no specific exercises for any specific diagnosis. We are all different and each person requires exercises that best suit their goals and current vocal needs.

    Hi, Katarina,
I have a somewhat undiagnosed case or MTD since forever! I'm a choirs conductor, and I've been a vocal coach for 10 years, helping people develop their voices, and I've never seen a case as tough as my own! I've came up with methods to develop mix voice and belting that has worked on pretty much all my trainees (often from the 1st lesson), but my own voice still cracks too easily when I try to sing in a mix.
I'd think I knew enough to be able to sing, but despite all my efforts and years of experience helping others do it, I myself can either do m1 below passaggio (chest voice), or m2 (falsetto), but the middle range, and especially Mix Voice is still a total mess (more voicecracks than actual phonation)!, and even thought it's better than some years ago, it still feels like I'm far from being able to sing.
It's frustrating and depressing, but now, thanks to videos like yours I've started to do more laryngeal massagges and to be more conscious about tension.
    Are you receiving clients?
Still looking forward to get an actual diagnosis.
Love your videos, BTW, they give me hope and it's a good place to start.
    Thank you!

Hi, thank you for sharing your story and for your kind words. I am sorry to hear that you are dealing with vocal issues, especially when you need your voice for work. Laryngeal massage is one of many thing you could do to release tension. I definitely recommend seeing a laryngologist. I would go to a specialized centre in your city where they work with voice professionals like you. They may have the knowledge to help you and navigate your voice journey.
I run a group coaching program for people with tension, strain or pain. You can find more information on my website: www.vocalfreedomsystem.com I wish you all the best! If you have any questions, just let me know.

Thank you for your answer and advice! I will.
It usually gets ignored or overlooked because my speaking voice is okay as long as I don't speak loudly, yell, or sing high notes, but I'll keep trying to find a good specialist.
I'll have a look into your program anyway, I have a lot to learn about this. Thank you very much!

I have seen some of your videos and felt like you can help me with my voice betterment.
Since my childhood I never noticed sudden change in my voice but as I grew people started pointing my voice like Iam having some issue... lately I went to check up and found to have dhysphonia and I was advised to take advance level voice therapy.
Can you help me in any way if possible?

I would follow your doctor's suggestion and find a local voice therapist. I have a group coaching program for people with muscle tension related voice issues but because you never had any voice therapy, I suggest that you start with individual therapy to address your voice problem. I wish you all the best.

Hi Ma'am katarina,,,When i sing a higher note my throat or neck harden but i know that i can rich that note but i found it so hard that i struggle when i sing high notes and sometimes when i sing in the morning my voice shakes and sounds more vibrating😢,, What can i do ma'am, i really hope i can sing again like i do back then.

I am not sure what happened that you cannot sing high notes any more. It would be important to know to help you. I suggest that you either work with a voice therapist (if you had voice issue) or voice teacher who can help you navigate the upper register more efficiently.
