  • The time has come for me to put away the scaffolding in my bases and replace them with honest-to-goodness working elevators like any civilized turn-of-the-twentieth century landowning gentleman. This is my first time working with the elevator functionality of the Create mod, but I suspect they will have made it relatively quick and easy for me to get the hang of it. It's what they do and I appreciate it very much.

Love how the elevator looks and I like how you used the stairs for your floors! Sometimes I wish you content was a bit more longer-formed, but I'm getting used to this kind of format. I was gonna suggest using steam as the power source (I'm not sure whether it's in the main mod or it's in other Create add-ons, but I'm certain I've seen someone used them. I don't use Create myself so I have no idea) but then you come in with the bucket of blood as a source, lol. Very fitting for the Nether! I know the chances are very slim that your elevator wounds up exploding, but just in case, is there is an emergency stairs/scaffolding nearby to traverse the levels?

Yes! The Create mod itself has steam engines and that part of the process is in episode 11, which will release on March 11th. I won't tell you what happens though... you will need to watch to find out.
However, there is no chance of an industrial accident with the power sources... but that does not mean that I shouldn't bother. Back when I played only vanilla, my "elevator" was a stack of scaffolding encased in a stone brick casing... and there was a staircase that wound around that. That was because I could not go down in the scaffolding while on horseback (I would dismount instead), so I had to keep the stairs in there so that I could go up and down while mounted.
That was a thing because I could not ride a minecart mounted, and with a good horse, I could go faster than the minecart anyway, so I often wound up ignoring the minecarts and using my subways for fast and direct travel by horse.
I was originally thinking of doing that again here, but with the inclusion of proper trains, I figured that it made more sense to leave horses and wagons at the station and board the trains without them.
