Grim Beard is actually a 57-year-old Japanese businessman that roleplays as a teenage schoolgirl, who is in-turn larping online as a man in his mid-thirties from California that makes deep dive game videos for RUclips. It's all very complicated, but that's what it takes to get a middle-aged Japanese schoolgirl businessman off these days.

Grim Beard going out of his way to maintain the same quality editing that he does in his proper reviews for an over 2 hour Q&A video really just goes to show the love and effort that he puts into every piece of his content. The fact that this dude hasn't been able to achieve 100k subs is a travesty.

how so? its just going to the more dumb or seemingly dumb negative-reviews (ultra low hanging fruit, in some ways) and poking fun at them. that's not even close to original, and I was happy to see it go - seem kind fanboyish, and other such words.

It was original in that he is the only guy I've seen have such a section in a review, and he brought his excellent comedic wit to it.
Also, there's nothing wrong with being a fan of something.
Disagree - they were funny and insightful, but Grim's got enough wit he doesn't need to make fun of random people on the internet for being wrong. If I'm reading about games, I intentionally avoid reading comments like those - they never add anything to my experience. And though I loved Grim's take on them, I always kinda felt like I should skip those segments for the same reason. I was glad to see them go.
I came across your channel when you posted Planscape review and I have watched every single one of your videos since then. I'm not goth and don't particularly enjoy playing horror games but your sense of humour, high production value and general tightly veiled wholesomeness really resonates with me. For the record your narrative stuff does have big value even if sequential context is lost. It's like watching a TV show out of order. Not having to follow the plot but still witnessing its progress is comforting in a disembodied way that I appreciate

I thought 86K AMA was the name of some crazy japanese game I've never heard of, lol.
So for practicing some automation, some time ago I wrote a script that would call the RUclips API and record the dates of the published darkened stream videos. It would then take your average output and find out how long it would take to finish the series at the current average pace. If I recall, it generally hovered around 9-10 years to reach the end of season 15 by going one episode at a time.
Man that VP mimic AI made me feel like we are soul kindred. Love you man.

The part about Stranger Things made so much sense to me. I definitely watched the first series and went like "well that was good... anyway moving on" and I've never come back to watch the later seasons, or felt any need to.
Also I thought I should let you know my internet has been shit and has been making youtube buffer like every 30 mins and so trying to watch the full 2 hours has been like a all day thing... so I guess that shows how great of a video maker dude you are thank you.

Jesus christ. I can't beleive you also has the Lost curse numbers as a tattoo. I watched the show a lot with my older brother after he returned from the military after 5 years. We watched the whole series as fast as we could to catch up with the last season. I got the curse numbers on my arm mostly to commemorate the good times we had watching together but also because I dont think theres been any show quite like it since then, for better or worse.
I could seriously listen to you talk forever about media that I had no idea existed lol. Just wanted to say that a Kingdom Hearts video would be super sick and I'd love to see one from you. Also, it really seems that the Jak and Daxter series (specifically Jak 2) would be something you'd enjoy. Cyberpunk GTA, early 2000's edge, vampire-esque transformation button, and the first game has rats in it (though they are enemies). Love your work mate :)

I'm surprised to hear Grim doesn't like his older videos and wants to redo them. I went back and watched a few of them after watching this one and thought that they were just as entertaining now as they were back then. I think he's being too hard on himself.

Mizurna Falls was my first Grimbeard experience and I've literally consumed whatever else I could find ever since, including signing up as a Patreon for the first and only time hitherto. I'm here to say that working back through the catalogue was as satisfying as anticipating and enjoying every new release since, however you might look back on those earlier videos. The seasons of Grim have all had their charm and impact, man - you bring that human experience shit to the fore... The stuff that helps people through hard times and keeps them humble during the good, all the while with that nuanced wit and heartbreaking regard for 'little guys' mixed up with looming establishments. 🐀

You mentioned not wanting to make a bunch of vinyl and then not be able to sell it all. Just wanted to share, that would be *perfect* for Kickstarter-esque crowdfunding dude. You get to find out up front what the demand is and get the money at the start. Totally hear you if the stress of making it all happen isn't worth it for you, but if you were ever keen, worth considering.

Skyrim has a mod called Enderal that's polished and different enough to give you the feeling of exploring skyrim again. Much more story focused. Unravelling mysterious murders, plague, ancient histories, new magic, metaphorically rifling through the belongings of a whole new world... Seems like it'd be your jam.
It's a continuation of the world/story they made for their oblivion mod Nehrim. (also a very good, totally transforms gameplay but exclusively german dubbed (eng sub))
