  • I had a chick hatch completely on it's own without absorbing it's yolk... I'm so grateful that I was right there, recording the hatch to spring into action. Here's what I did to save the chick! Before baby chicks hatch, they absorb the yolk inside the egg for nutrients to support them for the first few days of their lives. If they don't absorb the yolk, the chick can sometimes not make it. This chick LIVED!

I'm doing my first hatch. I've had 11 eggs in for 3 days. What temp and humidity setting do you use? I'm using factory settings. Thank you.

      100 degrees ...
70 percent humidity until three days before the 21st day then 80 percent humidity after so the eggs stay soft and spray them with warm water

Hello my chick hatched, it's cord is still attched to the egg. What concerns be is there's bit of blood around the abdomin. Has my chick herniated? Is the blood normal? My chick is reactive, doesn't seem lethargic but again the blood worries me. I read you can snip the cord, but other people say let if fall off on it's own, but does this apply to to my situation seeing that there is blood? I've never delt with this before. Any information would be great thanks so much for sharing your video!
