Yes he has his uses, thanks for the compliment. I like to think they are improving, the programme I'm using has many tutorials on RUclips which helps a lot. ATB Steve.

Nice one Steve. I'm going to attempt a small walk today (5 miles ), so as long as I can remember how to use my equipment, I might have a video out soon. ATB

Interesting stuff, always thought it was USAF base, but now realise was only used by them and was in fact RAF base!
Im a Yarmouth lad myself but used to work rackheath industrial estate and generally know the area well!
On an explore in that area some years ago i stumbled across an unusual "opening" into the ground, circular in shape but clearly not a well given its position!
It is well hidden in a group of trees on road nearby and often woundered if linked to ex air base etc!?
Do you know of any similar type openings that there may have been, or perhaps completely unrelated!?
    Many thanks!

Hi norfolknchance, as far as I know US bases even today are still MOD property the yanks just lease them (i worked at Mildenhall for 27 years).Your hole in the ground could be several things, if it was a concrete circle with a small square in the middle it could have been a Picket Hamilton fort. There was normally 3 of them for airfield defence. I can't think what else it could be, was it deep? Possibly an air raid shelter! The day we went the weather was crap, so a return maybe necessary for a deeper explore when the foliage dies down a bit. If you can remember the location can you let me know via email, my address is the description (I think). Thanks for commenting there will be more old airbases coming soon. ATB Steve.

@@Invictaman-62 I do indeed know exactly where it is but it could be a little hard to explain exactly where, as it is a pretty non descript stretch of road really, but would do my best and will do later in email!
It is an open brick structure and "looks like" a well, but I'm sure it isn't for many reasons as I'm sure you would agree once you saw it, it is a little away from muck lane but not as crow flies, anyway will try my best to explain in email when I can!
      Thanks.

So im either really thick or missing something!?
I would love to have a look to tell me its either a relic of the base or rubbish and nothing to do with it!
I look forward to establishing a way to get the info to you!
    Thanks, Ray.
