  • We climb Mt. Oberlin in Glacier National Park, Montana, USA. It is the easiest off-trail scramble in the park, with a lot of bang for your buck. The views are sensational--you can see all of Logan Pass and the Hidden Lake Trail, St. Mary Lake, the Highline Trail, the Loop on the Going-to-the-Sun Road, the entire Livingston Range, the tallest peak in the park, Mt. Cleveland, and all the way up into Canada. Plus, you can see three surviving (but melting) Glaciers.
Also, we see three mountain goats on the route! We try not to scare them as we ascend the ridge. We also see a golden mantled ground squirrel and a marmot on the summit. And I get some cool shots of the famous geology in the park, including the colorful sedimentary rock and some ancient Precambrian seafloor ripples.
    Thanks for watching!
