Climbing the EASIEST Mountain In Glacier National Park (Mt. Oberlin)
We climb Mt. Oberlin in Glacier National Park, Montana, USA. It is the easiest off-trail scramble in the park, with a lot of bang for your buck. The views are sensational--you can see all of Logan Pass and the Hidden Lake Trail, St. Mary Lake, the Highline Trail, the Loop on the Going-to-the-Sun Road, the entire Livingston Range, the tallest peak in the park, Mt. Cleveland, and all the way up into Canada. Plus, you can see three surviving (but melting) Glaciers.
Also, we see three mountain goats on the route! We try not to scare them as we ascend the ridge. We also see a golden mantled ground squirrel and a marmot on the summit. And I get some cool shots of the famous geology in the park, ...

I Ran Down A Mountain In Glacier National Park
Просмотров 57221 час назад
I just climbed Reynolds Mountain in Glacier National Park, Montana. The sun is setting, and now I need to get down and back to the car before it gets dark (there's grizzly bears in Glacier). To expedite the process, I run most of the way, sliding down loose rock (scree) and snow (glissading). It's really fun and I get beautiful alpine views of the most amazing place on Earth (in my opinion). Th...
Climbing Reynolds Mountain in Glacier National Park (SKETCHY)
Просмотров 489День назад
I park at Logan Pass in Glacier National Park, Montana for an evening July ascent of Reynolds Mountain. I choose to traverse the north face of the mountain via the famous goat trail. The exposure is quite intense, and there is still some snow on the trail that I have to circumnavigate. I slip and slide along the trail thanks the Glacier's infamous loose sedimentary rock as I scramble my way to ...
Summer Skiing in Glacier National Park
Просмотров 2,3 тыс.21 день назад
I head up to the park for a quick early summer ski down the Lunch Creek couloir below Pollock Mountain. It gets a bit cold, so I don't stay up there for sunset, but I enjoy some nice turns and get to see some spectacular sunset views on the drive down the Going-to-the-Sun Road on the west side of Logan Pass. It's a fun little outing. Thanks for watching! Follow me on Instagram: @caseyschneiderp...
Trail Running to Blanca Lake (North Cascades)
Просмотров 18821 день назад
I have fun recreating in the North Cascades. Specifically, I'm headed to Blanca Lake, one of the most spectacular lakes and a hidden gem in the state of Washington. It does not disappoint, especially with it all to myself! I enjoy the solitude and looking at (but not swimming in) the turquoise glacial water that is not covered in ice. It's the perfect early summer trail run/hike, even with some...
Braving the High Divide (Olympic National Park)
Просмотров 434Месяц назад
It's my first visit to Olympic National Park in Washington. I get up real early and see how far I get on the High Divide trail (trail running and hiking). I don't bring enough alpine snow gear to feel comfortable doing the whole loop, but I get to summit the highest point on High Divide, Bogachiel Peak. I also get a glimpse of the heavily glaciated Mt. Olympus. It ends up being a great introduc...
Climbing Mt. Hood for the First Time (SKETCHY Conditions)
Просмотров 272Месяц назад
This was my first time climbing Mt. Hood. It was also my first time using an ice axe and crampons. The conditions were absolutely atrocious. I had to dodge a ton of icefall on the way down as well because we got going too late (2 PM instead of 1 PM) and the mountain started to melt in the sun. But I survived. I'm bummed I didn't film at all on the way down Old Chute because it got pretty exciti...
Wow ❤😮
Nice, thanks for sharing. Subbed 🙌
Subscribed ...Good luck
Goofy ahhh trailer 😂
Yes go watch the full video 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hell yeah you should try the garden wall but the very top of it. I got close but chickened out towards the top. Didn’t feel safe trying to find a way down. 😂
Are you talking about the arete to the north of Mount Gould? People call the Garden Wall different things.
@@caseyparked yes that one. That would make a badass video
Epic video!!
14 times I summited that peak.... My favorite climb anywhere. The views are the most spectacular of any I've seen in my 35 years hiking and climbing Glacier Park. Retired now. Living in Ecuador. But great memories of Mt. Reynolds Thanks for the video
It is a beautiful mountain and beautiful place. Thanks for watching and I hope you're enjoying your retirement
I am stunned to see you.😮
How scary is it climbing down?
Boy do I have the video for you: ruclips.net/video/Lq_3xm76Pmw/видео.htmlsi=o50dW6FB4ygqP5Kh Essentially there is an easier way down you can opt for
What time did you start? Looks like it was pretty late! Lucky for those eternal Montana dusks...
Yeah I started at 6 PM. You don’t need a reservation for the road after 3, but there’s a big line then, so I tried to time it for minimal traffic. If you’re quick, most of the peaks around Logan Pass are doable in a few hours
What class hike is this? Class 3?
The route I did was, yes. Class 2 and 3
The rock was part of the ocean because the whole world was once underwater 4,500 years ago when God destroyed the world with a great flood…plate tectonics shifted and created the mountains and land masses we see today. Following the flood a great ice age followed covering the higher latitudes with millions of tons of snow and ice carving the majestic mountains and valleys we see in the Rocky Mountains today
Gotcha
So cool!! 😎🔥 Great work on the edit.
Thank you!
Wow, didn’t know that Lunch Creek had that much snow / rideable vert. Much better than the patches around Reynolds and Clements, plus fewer tourists. Far out 🤙
this is so sick. thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed
what a legend
It’s glacier NATIONAL park.
Hell yeah it is
Totally awesome
Sure wish I had your abilities. In
"its got some texture" hahaha love it man
Reminds me of those rock slides in uncharted 4. Still looks painful
It's only painful if you fall
@@caseyparked I’ll try it if I get a chance 👍
Thanks for showing this gem off
There don't seem to be any glaciers left.
There’s a few but they’re small and going fast
Underrated🔥 here before you get famous
How dangerous did that feel? Falling is a top 3 or 4 cause of death at glacier. Very cool tho.
Thanks! I grew up doing this stuff so it was right on the edge of my comfort zone. I can usually mentally deal with exposure if the climbing isn't that technical
Nice video quality - that scree looks very un-fun.
Thanks--it's definitely an acquired taste
Nice video. The views are awesome. I enjoyed watching it. Thanks for sharing. 👍10
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed
Awesome dude, love to see others getting after it this summer!! I respect the Ice axe and no gloves steeze. 🤙 Great editing btw, very watchable - just gotta angle that gopro up a lil bit on the skiing, so hard to get that angle right.
Yeah I was bummed when I saw the angle of the footage, but it is what it is. Glad you enjoyed it regardless!
so sick
hoping to visit soon 🙌
I’ve done this one twice. It was my first overnight backpacking trip. Excellent hike.
Woah cool
Ur gonna make it big dude. I’m calling and will return at a later date!
Great video! Do you know what pace you set and how long your trip took? (strava link? or some other hiking app record it?)
Thanks! The trip took about 6 hours total. I didn't Strava this one, but I believe it was a bit less than 16 miles round trip, which puts me at just below 3 mph. A lot of that was snow navigation and summit time and just dinking around
I'm going to guess that you are a Capricorn.
I'm not, but I can see why you would think that
I was thinking of heading up there to do the loop -- when did you do this?
I did it two days ago! Still pretty snowy up high, but if you get an early start and bring crampons (and maybe an ice axe), I bet you could do the whole thing.
@@caseyparked Thanks for the reply. It's a great loop -- I did it a couple of years ago in the summer. I think that I'll give it go in the next week or two.
