- It's my first visit to Olympic National Park in Washington. I get up real early and see how far I get on the High Divide trail (trail running and hiking). I don't bring enough alpine snow gear to feel comfortable doing the whole loop, but I get to summit the highest point on High Divide, Bogachiel Peak. I also get a glimpse of the heavily glaciated Mt. Olympus. It ends up being a great introduction to one of America's prettiest, most famous national parks.
If you are interested in trail running, hiking, scrambling, and just adventuring in nature, you might like this video and others on my channel!
I’ve done this one twice. It was my first overnight backpacking trip. Excellent hike.
Nice video. The views are awesome. I enjoyed watching it. Thanks for sharing. 👍10
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed
Great video! Do you know what pace you set and how long your trip took? (strava link? or some other hiking app record it?)
Thanks! The trip took about 6 hours total. I didn't Strava this one, but I believe it was a bit less than 16 miles round trip, which puts me at just below 3 mph. A lot of that was snow navigation and summit time and just dinking around
I was thinking of heading up there to do the loop -- when did you do this?
I did it two days ago! Still pretty snowy up high, but if you get an early start and bring crampons (and maybe an ice axe), I bet you could do the whole thing.
@@caseyparked Thanks for the reply. It's a great loop -- I did it a couple of years ago in the summer. I think that I'll give it go in the next week or two.
I'm going to guess that you are a Capricorn.
I'm not, but I can see why you would think that
