This song was featured on Rock Video Monthly, a VHS sent to your home quarterly. My little brothers and I played it over and over and over again. It was my lifeline in small town Ponder Texas.
One of the best shows I ever saw.. Boston at the Paradise. Bought my first concert tshirt with the CW EMBROIDERED on the front. Yes I am that old, and yes they were that good!!! I would do almost anything to get that shirt back
Loved the Chrome CD back in the day and still love it now! Never saw the videos, but thanks to the magic of RUclips, I can years after the fact. AWESOME! Thanks for posting!
When I think of the golden era of early 90s Indie rock, this song is one of the first that comes to mind. This, Soul Coughing's "Super Bon Bon", Liz Phair's "Supernova", Sugar's "Your Favorite Thing"... good times :)
It's almost ALWAYS the case, that great bands like this go unrecognized, while the amount of bullshit on the airwaves continues to pile up. These guys are GREAT !!!
+Steve Labuski No, these guys were great for two albums---"Ferment" and "Chrome"---and were only marginally great after that (and NIN and Coldplay ARE great bands).
+S.A. Hogan Adam and Eve was their best album. Then again, I wouldn't expect someone who thinks Coldplay is a "great band" to know what they're talking about.
OK, I know when I'm beat by superior logic: I'm sure most CW fans agree "Adam & Eve" ("Wishville" running a VERY CLOSE 2nd) is a far, FAR better album than either "Ferment" or "Chrome"; what the HELL was I smoking, anyway? And those 600 MILLION hits for COLDPLAY's "Paradise" vid? Why, EVERY ONE of these people must be a frickin' idiot! Thank you, JO, for keeping things REAL.
S.A. Hogan - we've all got our own opinions, but outside of Ferment and Chrome, which, agreed, are excellent albums, there's also Happy Days, which had the awesome " Heal ", Adam and Eve ( Here Comes the Fat Controller ), and Like Cats and Dogs, which admittedly was a collection of demos and B sides, but contained probably the best cover of " Wish You Were Here " that could ever be done. Also on Happy Days, " Judy Staring At the Sun " with Tanya Donnelly, which, me being a recovering junkie, I think is one of the best songs about heroin addiction ever. Anyway, we both think they're a really good band, so I guess that's something.
Mary. The hands of mary maybe? I interpret it as just caring loving and music can bring that. The world's full of negativity always has been. But won't always will be..

I had that same tape. I believe it had The Breeders, Urge Overkill, Matthew Sweet, The Lemonheads, Radiohead, and INXS on it as well.
this song make me smile in such a contagious way. it's like being in love, with a sound.
One of my favorite bands of all time !!!!!
One of best and underrated uk band ever.
❤ such a great song
I have no idea how this popped up on my youtube, i was sleeping but this is gold. Better than anything of today.
I think we should start a campaign to reform Catherine Wheel. Excellent band, great songs. Come back lads.
All bets are on for 2023 ✌️

I agree. These guys had an incredible sound and I get major flashbacks of good times through the power of their songs
One of my fave bands... thanks for posting!

Oh, and "Saturday" by the Judybats :)

I can remember the late 90s .... searching cd bins and remembering this
i love this song so much. one of my favorites. gonna do it in Spanish.

+Steve Labuski They were pretty well damn known internationally in the 90s

Love the hairy ches Rob! Great tune major thumbs up to the great catherine wheel.
i never knew they made a video for this song!

My favorite Husker Du song that isn't a Husker Du song...

Such great musicians and songwriters. Rob Dickinson's solo album is amazing BUT nothing would beat a CW reunion....hell screw reunion and just reform.
underrated =(
What's really sad is we will never hear this song live...
toofdr3 Why? Not even in England? Not even in Lowestoft? Why did he die? God damn it, why not live, you must tell me!
greeneking77 Well, for one, the Wheel is still 'parked". AND, they weren't playing it live on either the
"Adam & Eve" and "Wishville" tours.
+toofdr3 Yeah, FORGET the situation with the Syrian refugees; THIS is really sad.
@@toofdr3 I saw them in Toronto, I think it was the Adam & Eve tour, and they ended with Show Me Mary. It was *amazing*.
This is special.
You're a G for posting this.
hey hey hey hey!
They are in New Orleans for this video.
The opening sounds almost identical to Wembley, by The Candy Skins, which was released the same year.
it would sound pretty fresh.;)
OK, I may be crazy, but look at how often this video focuses on people's hands.
+0mink0 O.K., NOT crazy that you noticed it, MIGHT be crazy depending on the MEANING you derive from it.

This was essentially an REM cover.
i was just thinking that 3b years later. i feel like making this song spanish

Great song. Talk about a video that has nothing to do with the song meaning. I guess there are plenty of other sites for that.
Catherine Wheel - Still “Parked” 🙁
That might change in 2023 .
what
are they in new orleans ?
