How funny you would suggest that. I was looking at one of the songs. I'm all over the place here. I feel like a kid in a candy store! I've only played guitar a couple of times. Once when I was in high school I was picking out some tunes in band class on a friends guitar. The other time was my son talked me into trying on my husband's guitar. My husband and my two sons all play. Anyway, I was learning some songs the first day I picked it up and I could tell my husband was a bit challenged I was learning so fast. I didn't want him to feel bad. I'm kind of one of those people that usually picks up an instrument fairly quickly. I played coronet/trumpet, altonium, and french horn in the band for many years. I started playing coronet at about 9 years of age. My teacher would come in to teach me something new and find that I had already gone ahead a lesson or two. I am hoping I am still a quick learn. I've picked out by ear amazing grace on my polka-lay-lee and on the Diddley bow I built. I am excited you have all these lessons so I can learn really quickly. You're an excellent teacher.

Ukulele as stringed instruments go can be cheap, compared to mandolins. Maybe it's because of the 4 more strings.

Yes! 4 Strings made of nylon means the neck needs no truss rod, smaller so less wood is required, a lot less metal parts, and the demand is a lot less than guitars. This means that one can buy a pretty good one relatively cheap.
