I'm obsessed with the beautiful flute solos, and omg that BRASS. Proud alumni from the 80s, here. It's so amazing to see the "House that Jack Built" (IYKYK) thrive like this. Wow.
10 years ago, we would’ve never dreamed of making it to BOA. We were always the school to just “host”. So proud of what the band has become. I graduated in 2012 with the clarinet 🫶🏼 miss these days!
Much love from the Elkins Knights! Pearland's music sounds like the evil band protaganists that everyone is afraid of. They should be. ur show is soooooo coooool.
I was lucky enough to be on the field for this performance, as the band going after Pearland. This was absolutely mental to see, especially up close! Amazing job
@@izzy_da_crocs_pookie ooh, I actually can't remember, maybe low-70s to mid-80s? we're a small school with almost no money (arts departments here don't get a lot, lol), so even that was a surprise! It was also the highest score our shows have ever received at BoA :) (63.65, if I recall)
@@transangelic_asylum at least you made BOA Grand Nats! My high school band has never been to grand nats but we have been to UIL State and did pretty decent this year :)
Amazing skill on behalf of the kids (way to go middle school band directors!!!); amazing design both musically and visually, and an "all-in" approach to performing. Exemplary.
@@Sk-bt9fn thank you, I'm seeing A LOT of bands (seemingly more each year) that are choosing to forgo using shakos. Their excuses range from "they hide the emotions on our faces" to "it's what DCI is doing" to "they prevent us from being able to dance" to "it makes it more difficult to pick out marching errors". It's sad, really, and I commend you all for not falling in line with this silliness. I was in the Harrison County (Cynthiana, KY) program in the late 1980's.
@@atlantic_love yeah I love our uniforms and how we keep them traditional, the modern style of movement in our shows is kinda hard to implement butttt we make it work.
First ever Grand nats appearance, and they are representing Pearland well! Much love from Dawson High school.

Performed with the Marching Hundred and we were warming up behind them prior to their performance, and omg that brass is sick 🔥

Such an elegant, beautiful show.
