Fun. gained notoriety while opening up for Janelle Monae, so the whole thing has been full circle. I think that Janelle and Fun. are both great artist and both deserving of awards.
Janelle Monae had some fans even back in 2012 they started cheering for her in the middle of the song when she first came on stage. Gahhh. ❤️❤️ Also, thank you FUN band for such a classic timeless song!
Seems to me his vocals somehow relaxed and got naturally smooth after Janelle's cameo. Definitely the anthem of the year.

Nate has an amazing fucking voice. One in a generation. His tone is amazing. You would know his voice out of a million. His tone is truly unique.

Why didn't Janelle join in the harmonies like she usually does?
Saw them love at the Myth here in Minnesota. Shit was crazy. And yes, he can hit those notes, he sounds just as good live as he does in the studio, they are truly incredible. All the greatest vocalists have had vocal problems at one point. Steve Perry, Freddy Mercury, Don Henley, all of them, but they are still regarded as some of the greatest vocalists of all time.
I love how you truly mentioned great vocalists. Not just ppl who are hot this moment. But voices on songs that we will always listen to.
