You are, by far, THE BEST teacher! Clear, concise, easy-paced videos--all free! Thank you sooooo much for instructions how to make pattern in any size! Wish I lived "down under" so I could meet you in person & patronize your shop!
Well said! I watch Christine all the time. would say almost every day. I am so very pleased To have found her site. I am 75 years old and have been sewing for 70 years. I still learn something every day. I’m very blessed. THANKS CHRISTINE ‼️‼️👍🏻
When I make a pattern from a RUclips channel I make axnote on the pattern, what it is, the channel name and the date the episode came out. This way if I don't get around to it right away and not sure about the directions I can go back and watch the video again.
I had to stop the video 3/4 of the way through. Why? Your fabric selection. 😳 OMG, I’m gobsmacked! The primary green and white, hard geometric angles juxtaposed with the soft, pastel shades of soft orange hues in soft curved lines. When you opened the partially constructed bag and revealed the fabric combination, it just blew my mind. I was a graphic designer in my younger years and, without a doubt, I can say this combination is pure genius. Oh, and thank you SO much for providing an alterable pattern for this bag. Your generosity knows no bounds. ❤
I’m so glad yt recommended this to me. I house/pet sit anywhere from 1 week to 30 or 40 days. I need a larger one so I can take everything. Thanks so much!
Your instructions are so good you could teach a 4 year old to sew.! So much patience. Steps are in order. I have been sewing for many years and being a perfectionist, I can finally say I have met my twin!. Thank you
Absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much for sharing. You are a wonderful teacher and give instructions with ease and understanding. Thank you again Christine
I made this for a trip by plane with the idea of using it for cosmetics. At the last minute I decided to use it for my golf shoes, glove, sun screen and cap. It worked perfectly.
How you figure measurements never ceases to amaze me! This looks quite daunting until you broke it down into short bits of sewing. It's actually quite large when the zip is all the way open. I was thinking about a lunch bag, but things may get jumbled. Makeup would be perfect for this. In the States we use a product called Kn R Foam. It's almost spongy, easy to sew through, but sometimes feels like you're wrestling with an anaconda. It's made to take abuse and bounce right back. Some of the intersecting points, you would need to cut the foam smaller, out of those intersections. This looks fun to make. My ex-husband sent home 3 boxes of yardage from a friend's mother's stash. I was able to save a whole box. One box went straight to the garbage. I opened it up and bugs were running everywhere! The top pieces looked like eggs were laid. If I had a garage and laundry st hand I would have tried. Right now, in an apartment, I couldn't take a chance of infestation. It was beautiful fabric, unttit began moving! 😊 Thanks again for the pattern. That reminded me... I promised a toddler apron for painting, cooking, whatever they want to wear it for. 😊
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs Good thing we have two great mousers. We have the sweetest Bengals. They are like Labrador retrievers...busy and a bit large, and both rescues. One was on death row. I worked with her for months. She learns something everyday. I've socialized, trained, and placed hundreds of dogs and cats. I go through the same process with both. Yes, cats can be trained. Ours come when called, sit when asked, walk on a leash. When I place them, I have turned people away. I've never accepted money for any baby I've placed. People think it's difficult to let go of them after nursing them, and caring for them. When people send photos of their new family member, you see how easy it is. I also tell them to bring them back if they don't work. Never had one returned. Oddly, I've had people call and ask if I have any babies for adoption.
As always your tutorials are so very precise, thorough and easy to follow. Thank you for your generosity in sharing along the way. You are a true blessing Christine!! Thank you. 💗🙏💗
I would like to make a 3" or 4" bag, how do I figure out the length of zipper for that? Love this pattern. Just found you- I'll be back!!! Thank you so much - love being able to make different sizes.
Great pattern design instruction and information, another useful tutorial thank you. It would turn our nicely with foam as well for stability and shape. As always stay safe🤗
I love it!!! So much easier than the traditional train case. Giving this one a try. Going to use peltex to make it a little stiffer. Thank you for your generosity in sharing this pattern.
I love it! I agree that a stiffer stabilizer would make this bag better. I have some plastic crosshatch that is flexible but stiff that I think will work well with this and still keep it washable. Thank you for another excellent video. I am so glad that I found your channel.
You are a wonderful teacher. Thank you so very much, I have understood almost exactly what to do. I am a tad confused when you do the last stitching where you put the bag together...but I shall watch this video several times so that I get the hang of it. is it okay to use it without a gusset on the sides? Love this bag
That is a lovely item,I love the pattern, and you have made it easy to follow.I was given some Lego material so I am going to make one for my grandson’s Lego people which are always getting lost, one with lips on the material for granddaughter make up and one for my pens. What a lovely gift it would be at Xmas going to look around for lovely materials.Thank you so much, you never fail to bring lovely items to make.I am sure they will sell well in your shop.
Another great tutorial!! Looking forward to giving it a try. I think I'd like the stiffer stabilizer as you suggested. I like the way it opens way up.👍
Thanks Linda. My table is only adjustable in that when you assemble it, you can set the height to suit. After that it stays fixed as the foot controller, knee lift, and cutter are all connected to the frame and machine 😃
I have a question for you about shaving kit bags: how do you make the ridged edges on a kit bag? This kit bag that I have has big , solid, heavy, zipper and the sides are black with hard plastic rim around the edges. The plackets by the zipper are blue, the rest of the bag and handle are black. It's made of a duck-like canvas, really heavy fabric. How would you do something like that?

Just completed the bag. Word of advice: DO NOT USE peltex pellon 71 extra firm. It was impossible to manipulate the bag. However after a few try’s it came out beautiful! Any suggestions for a firm stabilizer that you would suggest? Thank you again for a great tutorial.
Keri, I usually do ¼ to ½ inch seam allowance on my items, but mostly leave it up to the individual unless it's critical to measure one way or the other 🙂
Thank you for a great tutorial . I‘ve seen this demonstrated by a RUclipsr, but was somewhat confused. Thank you for sharing your drafting skills. God’s Blessings.
I found this to be an extremely difficult pattern! I guess everything went smoothly until it got to the end where enclosing the sides. I had to take it out several times! Once done, it is a cute container. However I think it needs more stabilizer than fusible fleece.
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs thanks for replying. Unfortunately that is no longer available from that seller any other suggestions is appreciated. Also I don’t need the zipper just the sliders.
I made this twice ..once with very stiff interfacing …I couldn’t do it. The next bag was soft and I still can’t close the zipper end …seems like there is too much fabric. Help. I measured everything I can’t fix it and this fabric was so lovely….hate to throw it out.
I ended up tossing it out …I love your site and have made other bags that were perfect…sadly not these two. Well it’s a learning curve. Everything went together as shown except for the last instructions…boxing the bottom and sewing all layers together. There was to much fabric in this area and with my fleece interfacing it would not come together without big pleats. I cut it apart and saved a few scraps to add to a quilt. Thank you Christine for responding and I do still love your site.
