One of my favorite Numan songs. Sort of a mash up of his first 4 albums in one song. Well done here with subtle differences from the original but still a classic Numan sound.
I was into Tubewy Army and Gary Numan back in the day and recently heard the Karen Hunter cover (for the Ced bursary) which iead me to your excellent RUclips channel, absolutely brilliant covers and original tracks. 👍👍👍
Bit late to the party on this but bless you V.C. One of my favourite tracks from the Replicas era. This is sublime and takes it to another level. Just gorgeous music. Both Chris and yourself are to be congratulated - Chilled with the Ghost are a magnificent phenomenon. Your keyboards come from within mate and they're glorious. BTW, I see you're about to crack 1K subs. Congrats ! 👍
Thanks as always for taking the time to listen to this stuff and for your lovely comments. Makes doing these worthwhile. If not before - best wishes for the season to you and yours James. Take care Sir, VC.
I always envisioned this song as a surveillance state satire with a 'The Prisoner' vibe to it along the lines of the video to 'The Dream Police', albeit set in somewhere resembling Portmeirion. Numan had been inspired by J G Ballard and Phill K. Dick, so not too difficult to see the paranoia, 'Big Brother' element of 'The Village' creeping into this. Fits in with the Grey men concept as well. Somebody really needs to make the concept of 'Replicas' (and associated songs) into a single, coherent narrative of vignettes set in the same City, with different locations, The Park, Zoms Zoms, The tubeway, Glow at night skyscrapers, poulated by various Grey Men, Machmen (bar pupils and all) 'Friends' and of course 'Crazies' and a hero broken in the corner.

Super cover. As good if not better than the original in my opinion! Well done.
