I would be more hyped if the last 2 albums weren't total trash. This single isn't too bad tho other than the bad lyrics so I'm slightly hopeful
Saw this on Bruce's spoken tour - he played it during intermission. The concert hall we were in has fantastic acoustics and well over 100 of the BEST speakers money can buy. The sound, incredibly loud, was crystal clear. It literally went THROUGH you. Worth the price of admission alone.
I experienced the same thing when I attended Bruce's tour! I just got into the animation field, and seeing two of my greatest passions - Iron Maiden and animation - coming together in this epic song was an electrifying experience!
Personally, I like this version more because of the sound effects. It just feels more real.
Love how maiden has never sold out. They stay true to the metal and continue to out due themselves for the love of music. Keep rocking!

This is easily their best music video ever, so awesome to see these guys just killing it at this stage in their career. No one else does it like Maiden.

I consider this to be one of THE sickest animated music videos ever. Hits a lot of the stuff I loved as a kid/teenager watching cartoons and anime. And of course the amazing music.
This whole part feels like a scene from an awesome movie I saw as a kid, as soon as the protagonist is cornered by the villains, the four badass characters arrive just in time to kick ass and save the day.

"The Writing on the Wall" is a fantastic composition by the duo Bruce and Adrian. It's a dark country or gotic western, if you like. It's a mix of styles ranging from blues rock to hard rock, passing through southern and folk music. Maiden worked their magic and transformed the style in their own way with the use of twin guitars, which is one of their essential and intrinsic compositional characteristics.

Been a fan since 1982....Maiden just keeps getting better with age. Bruce's voice is still amazing both live and recorded.

Just when I thought this song couldn’t be anymore awesome they release the SFX version and it’s totally amazing. The story is incredible but enhanced by the extra effects, the song still shines through and never fails to get me to singalong. (Sorry Bruce).

Dear Iron Maiden, I think everyone here will agree with me when I say your video for "Writing on the wall" takes music videos to a level no one else EVER has or WILL.
This is PURE art and story telling. Even without the music, and just the sound effects, this would be award winning.
Simply superb and magical to watch as a viewer. And the message? It says what all of us as HUMAN BEINGS think and feel. Regardless of where we come from we ARE BROTHERS & SISTERS of the same family. The human race family.
And we HAVE ALREADY created our own personal hell on this beautiful planet called Earth.
But it's not too late. We can create a paradise on Earth. All we have to do is listen and open our minds and hearts to each other.
We have SO MUCH to gain and so much to lose.
Our choice. Our story. We are the ones who write it. It can either be a story where evil wins or a story of being our own angels saving us.
