Thank you for the tones man! I just got this amp and absolutely love it. It flubs out a bit at high volumes like the speakers can't handle it but that's ok. It does so many things right. I simply lower it a bit and rock on... I subscribed on the spot!
thanks for your videos! I play a Takamine EF341 acoustic guitar with the THR 30 and I was wondering if you had some preset tips specifically for acoustic guitars. i have not found anything on the internet about this so far.
This was great. I just got my THR30II (in black) & I love it. I agree 100% = prefer the Classic Clean Amp. It Sounds more Fender Princeton Reverb-ish. I also-have a Professional (10 pedal) Pedalboard, and haven't used it since the THR arrived. oNe LovE from NYC
Sadly, I sold the K7 a while ago! Playing Kiesel these days. You really can't go wrong with any Japanese made Ibanez, highest quality guitars in the world imo. Cheers brotha!
Nice video dude your production is slick i like how you put up the screen capture of the app working, you're the first person i've seen give a detailed guide on how to program it. one major thing ive discovered is how much the attack can vary using the guitar input as a maser volume and the volume as a prescence knob or vice versa it really changes the character as much as the cab emulation or model selection. thanks for sharing.
Love the Fusion Solo tone. I tried dialling this in and it sounds a very different to what it sounds like in the video. I'm using an Ibanez AZ2402. Any ideas why I'm not getting a similar sound?
Hey Nathan, thanks for checking out the video. My guess is that you're getting a different sound because we have different pickups on our guitars. There's several other factors that may be in play as well. Try changing the speaker cabinet, I think that effects the tone the most. It's almost like having a different "filter" on your guitar tone. Hope that helps, have a great day man!
Great video ! Great sounds! And what's special about it is that you can see and hear the THR30. What use are all these demos of THR30 to me if I don't also find out how you are made. A tip to Yamaha would be to make no secret of the settings. The sound of THR 10 --- 30 does not need to hide. The best thing there is for your home! I hope there will be more videos about THR 30, for example THR and effects (loop etc.) Thanks to you for this wonderful work! greetings from Munich
@@DrewCreal Hi, have you already had experience with thr 30 and effects or do you do the backrounds on cubase? Wanted work with the looper .. About your video I have to say that the patches are very good, especially clean and your lead sound (3) great sound. You probably know Matteo Mancuso and his 2 Yamaha clips wonder why the guys from Yamaha aren't showing the patches or is it Helix after all? Thanks to your (1 & 3) sounds, this results for me a good basis for experimenting Thanks for that! greetings from Munich
Great video. It's the first one I found talking about how to get the desired tone tweaking the THR II. About the Digital Delay option, if you update the Desktop App, it will appear.
Hi there ! Great review. ! Question is it possible to connect your guitar wireless to some effect pedals and these effect pedals then connect (wireless or by cable) to the yamaha 30II wireless speaker ? Or is it better to add the effect pedals after the speaker ? What would be a good solution ?
Thanks man for the tone settings, any chance you could do some tone settings for Hendrix rhythm? Trying to get a fairly clean tone but with a crunch sound when hit double stops, can't quite get the tone, please help
The hardest clean sound to achieve is that jazz guitar tone in the vain of George Benson or Wes Montgomery which is beautiful and rich sounding.I use a Fender Princeton for my jazz clean sound but it is to loud for neighbours , so can this wonderful Yamaha amp produce this classic jazz tone?
I agree, that is a very difficult and elusive tone to reproduce. I'm confident that you'll be able to come up with something close. The reverb sounds beautiful on the THR.
Great video. I just got the THR 10ii ( non-wireless) haven't used it much yet. Is it possible to copy these tones? I see a little difference in the Echo. Yours says echo but mine has tape echo and digital delay as the 2 options. Great video, great playing. Subscribed. Was looking for a video like this because I don't have a laptop at the moment I can't download tones so screenshots of the app is what I am looking for. Update: I dialed in the first 2 tones and to say I am underwhelmed is an understatement. Your clean sounds so warm and bright whereas mine sounds thin and boring. The 2nd tone of yours is also much better in the video. It can't be just the speakers, can it? I am just using the amp's speakers. So disappointed.
Thanks so much for checking out the video and subscribing. At the moment I don't know of a way to upload and download tones other than with the THR remote app. And I believe to change between the different delay types you have to use the THR control app which is different. I'm sorry that the tones in the video aren't working for you. There are always other variables with guitars. It could be the type of pickups that you are using or the type of wood your guitar is made out of. The final tweaking has to be done by you to get the best tone with your setup. Good luck and thanks again for watching!
Can you play back tracking music from your phone via Bluetooth WHILE still using the line 6 adapter? Also, have you ran into the adapter overcharging problems?
Hey Drew, Can you tell me if this has a line out so i could put thru an interface and to the computor to run an effect loop after the amp so i can mix tones in the loop ??
@@DrewCreal the thr10ii is also wireless and battery powered, I own one. The 30 has a line out and a physical switch for the modern/boutique/classic amp selection.
You can run one in front of the amp, in one Andertons video it seemed to work fine. Also the 30 has a hidden effects loop, where you connect one of the line out's to the looper and then connect the cable going out of the cable to a 6.3mm (guitar)jack to 3,5mm (aux)jack into the aux input.
It has stereo line outs L and R. So you can plug into a PA system. You could theoretically turn off the speaker simulation, send your signal to a power amplifier to drive an unpowered guitar speaker cabinet.
@@DrewCreal actually this exactly what I have always wanted to see how this amp performs with the line out driving a power amp, I have yet to find a video or anyone talking about this type of use with THR
I just ordered the THR30W and really liked how you're using it to create some of your tones. Very helpful video.
Thanks Leo 👍
With the electric bass, is it only recommended to use it in the "bass" mode or can it be used in the others without problems? (special, hi gain etc.)

Thanks for the kind words Gary I'll try playing around with the master volume like you mentioned!

You’ve got to run wired to pedal then wireless out of your last pedal from my experience,
Oof, that first clean tone! Holy shit! Can you say Holdsworth in Tokyo, Metal Fatigue tour?! Bravo dude. Best $450 I ever spent.
Pretty impressive sounds for this little amp, I love them.

I'll have to do a follow up to this video. I would recommend using the crunch setting for that kind of tone.
They need to make this thing in a 50watt, channel switching 2x12 combo. It would crush.

@@DrewCreal is there a delay option (vs. echo) on the THR30 that is closer to the delay on the original THR10?
Hey drew can you help me get tomes like Sublime. I have an American Fender Strat and the THR 30 wireless. Great video thanks.
Can you play back tracking music from your phone via Bluetooth WHILE still using the line 6 adapter? Also, have you ran into the adapter overcharging problems?
Yes you can! I had to send back my first wireless G10T, luckily Sweetwater was able to send me a new one.
So the connectivity with the THR is usb linked to your computer. And the Yam app is running on your computer? Thanks
That is correct!
Hey Drew, Can you tell me if this has a line out so i could put thru an interface and to the computor to run an effect loop after the amp so i can mix tones in the loop ??
The THR30 has a line out! All the models have USB for recording!
Which would you prefer? The THR10ii or the 30? Is the thr30 worth the extra $200?
They both sound virtually the same, The extra 200 is most definitely worth having wireless and the battery powered option.

There is no such thing as "too 80's" but good tutorial on the rest of the tones :)
Hey Drew,
Have you tried to dial in Allans lead and clean tones? think Magicstomp, and Rockett Alan pedal
Hey Joe! I have a magic stomp that works great for cleans, but I haven't tried the J Rockett yet, do you like it?

Can I use a loop pedal on this amp?

Yamaha thr30 has a speaker output? Can you play thru a cab?
It has stereo line outs L and R. So you can plug into a PA system. You could theoretically turn off the speaker simulation, send your signal to a power amplifier to drive an unpowered guitar speaker cabinet.
You can't directly connect a cab...

Gain on 37 for a clean tone?? He mentioned for clean he's using a bit of compression but actually using a ton of chorus
What can I say, I love gain and chorus!
