I have said it before and I will continue to say it. ITF is the original and only true system of Taekwondo. It's not that watered-down sports nonsense. People just don't understand the level these Martial Artists are at is so far above your typical fighter their not even on the same game board. Their understanding of the laws of physics and body mechanics gives thier system the most powerful of all strikes I have seen and felt in my 22 years of Martial Arts experience. In the military system every single strike is designed to break bone. The only other system that matches them is Kyokushin Karate.
This is REAL TKD.... the other shit (WTF TKD) you see is the pussified TKD version (South Korean version) and unfortunately the most popular form of TKD.
This is a bunch of nonsense and tricks/ breaking things that are designed to be broken. This is not unlike the old kyokushin videos where they would break a bunch of shit and "fight" defanged bears etc. I don't disagree that wtf tkd is bad for fighting, but they can still be superb athlete. Remember, folks. Those were confidence kicks in the beginning. They aren't used in real fights. Like the jump scissor kick. When would you ever use that in a real fight? They are good at building dexterity and confidence but I think it's a waste of time training a move that you would never use. They are only to build confidence and flashy movie fights. All the rest are simple tricks. You will get hurt if you don't know what you are doing, but once learned they are easy. Beaking boards is rather simple. They are using pine with tight grain. Plus I don't think you would ever get attack by roofing tiles. The bed of nails? They might sting a little but anyone can do that. The surface area of your body prevents the nails from penetrating. and finally; If someone puts a gun to your head, don't be a hero, give them your wallet.
