However, the specific model discussed in this chapter (by Hersey and Blanchard) is especially difficult to apply to cross-cultural or multi-cultural situations. Determining the developmental level of someone in another culture is very, very difficult, if not impossible, and perhaps not possible in one's home culture either. I would recommend an S2 style (high task, high relationship) whenever one is working with other cultures. As I mention in the video, this is one of my least preferred approaches to leadership.

I think it is a great leadership model, but as David Dunaetz points out, it has some goods things about it but also has things we need to be careful of.
