Texas has some fantastic State and National Parks. I have only been to Texas once, and that was for bootcamp in San Antonio. Love the channel and can't wait to see whats next
Such a great video showcasing these park. Thank you so much for doing this. We just booked spot 43 as everything else was booked. Thank you once again.
We are very happy that you found this video to be informative and helpful! Purtis Creek is a very charming state park! We hope you enjoy your stay! Thank you for watching!!
I thought site 33 looked familiar. Looked it up, that's the site we tent camped at. We were using a SUV tent and were able to set up on the ground at the end of the asphalt as opposed to using the test pad. Worked out great. Good privacy as you point out. It's a walk around to the restrooms but that was no big deal.
Oh My Goodness! look at this site on the lake! I could hang here for weeks! You knocked it out of the park with this pick! I am super impressed with the March weather there. Nice adventure
Good Job! One of the most important things to do in my book is to show the best camp sites and give a good tour of the surroundings. You nailed it! Thanks!
My wife and I love Purtis Creek, especially because it's not very far from where we live. We were there the two weekends before you guys, and the fish weren't biting then, either. We'll be at Lake Tawokani State Park this upcoming week.
Putris is really nice. My son caught his first fish there, a four pound bass, pretty good, mine was a 3oz bluegill. My wife also caught her first as well, as soon as the fish hit she handed me her rod in a panic lol! It’s catch and release on all bass so it must have been a bad day. We’re headed up to Cooper Lake this weekend. Love the videos! Glad to see you guys back out! Safe Travels!!
We didn't see a lot of people catching fish while we were there but we hear it is a good lake for fishing! You'll have to tell us how you liked Cooper Lake--we haven't been there yet. Thank you for watching!!
Is site #23 a 30amp only? We have an Artic Wolf 5th wheel also and need 50amp for our 2 ACs. Thanks in advance. We love your videos because your rig is so similar to ours and we know exactly where we will fit.
Yes! Unfortunately this is just a 30 amp site which makes it a little less desirable in the heat of the summer when you want to run that 2nd ac. Christy and I were there at the end of February so we didn't need to run both units (I'm not sure if we turned on our ac at all that weekend). Thank you so much for the kind words! We are so glad that you find our videos to be helpful! Thank you for watching!!
Wildhog32 - I don't know if you will see this but I was wondering if site 20 would have a lot of foot traffic/noise since it is close to the restrooms. I'm trying to decide on a site. Another youtube channel I watch mentioned that the loop can be pretty busy/loud with people coming/going to the restroom.
Hi guys! Came over from The Art of RVing live show tonight. We’re part of this awesome RVing community. Purtis Creek State Park looks like a really nice park! We enjoy watching park reviews and those near water are the best! Site 23 is beautiful. Love how close to the lake you are. Looks like a large site too. Thanks and we can’t wait to see more friend.
Thanks for sharing this review! We are excited to be going mid Sep. Did you feel like your site was secluded enough? Did you have a lot of people walking down to fish near you? Thanks for any advice you can give. I'm trying to decide on what site we want :) Luckily we are going Mon - Thurs so a lot of them seem to be open.
This site was wonderful! Although it was near the fishing peer, we didn't have many folks walking through or near our campsite. Thank you for watching!!
I am glad you made this video. We are considering going here. I like it when you review the site, it is very helpful. Tent campers get the best sites, they deserve it. We like to hike, so all those trail heads are great. I like the outhouse. very convenient.
We think you guys would love this park! It's close by and very charming! The RV sites are great! (Not just site #23) Excellent weekend getaway--you guys should check it out!
Look forward to all your videos. We r from Shreveport area and lookn for closer places to just get a way for a wkend. We camp/vaca in cooler areas in hot La. Summers. Hope your feeln better. I just got over flu and we r so ready to go camping. But now w coronas craze their shuttn down parks. Happy Camping
Thank you so much for watching!! We've been to Lake Claiborne State Park near you---beautiful state park, but you're right, very hot during the summer when we were there! LOL! We are much better now and looking forward to our next trip in April!! Texas state parks are not being closed at the moment--hope that doesn't happen--the hysteria over this is ridiculous!! Can't find any toilet paper at the grocery store either! LOL!
@Hotladyleo I received an email that Texas state parks are open and welcoming people in, but just listed precautions. Come on over! Weove our little weekend getaways!
This is an awesome lake. My dad an i went there once or twice a week for several years. He has since passed away and now i have my own boat and would love to go back and fish there, however Texas Parks and Wildlife makes it incredibly difficult to go now. You have to preregister on line and the.process is difficult to navigate and not user friendly at all. Then you MUST make reservations 24 hours in advance just to go fishing for the day! Not knowing weather or lake conditions or any other circumstance that might prevent a good day on the lake, you will not get a refund if weather changes or you must cancel. All in all you can't just have the FREEDOM to visit TAX FUNDED lake when you can and want to go. So sadly I will never fish this wonderful lake again. Horrible policy of Texas Parks and Wildlife to require the people who PAY for these places to treat them. Inexcusable. I hope no one pays to go anymore. Its ridiculous. They are literally putting themselves out of business like fools.

Great video! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks! And thank you for watching!!
That look awesome, not what i thought Texas would look like. How did you do that panning time lapse over the lake? Larry
I used a DJI Osmo Mobile 2 Gimbal with my cell phone for the motionlapse. Thank you so much for watching!!

We liked Lake Tawakoni State Park even though the weather wasn't that great when we were there. Thank you for watching!!
looks like a great place to set up camp😁 and you got a spot by the water👍 Happy travels👍
Thanks for watching!

This is a nice park. We stayed at site #22 but would prefer site #20 and it's much closer to bathroom.
We really enjoyed our stay here and will likely go back some day! Thank you for watching!!
