Hej Buster, någon chans att få instrumentala versioner av dessa remixer? Jag gillar den här vocals men jag gillar också att kunna koncentrera mig på musiken ibland. 🤘🏻😣
Listening for the first time. Didn't even know this re-master had happened and I've listened to this EP literally hundreds of times. At first listen, it sounds different but I'm not sure if it's necessarily better. But I might be swayed. I just think the original is perfect. But I love everything you guys do so any criticism is purely subjective. Will report back when I've finished. Sure you'll all be on the edge of your chairs...
My first thought listening to Staos is that it sounds a lot "busier" with more background stuff going on. I think I liked the EP's clearer sound, nothing wrong with things having a bit of space
End of langstmedan sounds great and is definitely making me do the classic gurning vildhjarta face, but I'm not quite sold. Maybe it's just that I've listened to the original so many times, but I feel that a "less is more" approach is better. On Dimman now. This remaster has perhaps too much going on at once and I prefer a bit more clarity. It sounds to me a little like a live recording
End of Dimman was always great because it was so "major" whilst also being so heavy. A really rare thing in metal. Still exists a bit but lost slightly in the re-record.
Listening to the EP again. It does sound so different and actually changes my opinion a bit of the re-master. But I think the difference is not the mastering, but the mixing. If the remaster were just a bit of a tweaking of EQ and compression and the like I'd think it sounds much better, but unfortunately the changes to the actual recorded tracks loses a bit of the original charm. Anyway, I'll shut up now. Thall xoxo
Oh god I don't know. Listening to Regnar Bensin side by side and the new version sounds "better" but I also think it sounds flatter. It's like how an impressionist painting can be imperfect but have something photorealism doesn't. Maybe I'm just chatting shit. I'm probably chatting shit. Maybe I just am used to the old version, like when facebook changes their layout. I'm genuinely going to stop commenting on this now (sike I probably won't)
Maybe it's just me or I just have to get used to it, but I feel theese two remasters sound way too over-processed and too drums-focused. Yeah the drums are huge but lack the groovy feel that makes the original special. I have to say I love the mix in Masstaden Under Vatten tho, which in fact is much less groovy than the previous albums. Either way I appreciate the work being done by Buster and theese guys. T h a l l EDIT: ...i had to get used to it. Seriously, my ears where so used to the old mix that they rejected change, but these are incredibly beefy and satisfying mixes. THANK YOU Buster. This is great, but I prefer the original. Something about the low end snarl of the guitars and bass on the original just trigger my "stank face" more. But the clean parts, both instrumental and vocal, come through better on here. The "I repent this act..." part at the end of Mist Förståndet (my most favorite track) - the way it was mixed originally, his voice sounded a little awkward or out of place. In this version, it fits and sounds S I N I S T E R. And of course, the drums hit harder on here which is always good. *T H A L L*
I'm clearly in the minority on this one judging by the comments, but I like the original much better. It had a lot more personality. I will say, I like the Forte version of Masstaden much better
This version is a lot "cleaner" production wise. Something in the original ep felt really loose and wild, especially the low end of the mix. Also a lot of the ambient parts which made me love the original release got ate up by the massive guitar/bass mix now.
