The Nazis' philosophy on the purpose of the State was functionally the same as the Italian Fascists they just tried to rebrand it with a populist or volkist slant. How much of an NPC do you have to be to fall for 90 year old faux populism. The use of the name National Socialism was also done for the sake of propaganda, as almost all actual socialists associated with Nazism, the Strasserites, were killed or exiled after they took power.
