Well imo there is definitely a balance. If things never deviated from the "old classic way", we'd still be playing reskins of battlefield 1942. The trick is finding that balance of new and old. I think a game like battlefield 1 did that very well, whereas a game like 2042 didn't do that very well.

all dice would need to do is basically remake battlefield 3 or 4 but obviously they will not do that. i did not buy 2042 and i seriously doubt i will buy the next battlefield or dice product.

I want the next Battlefield game to be on the level of great titles like BF3, 4 and 1.
2024 started out as a broken mess and after nearly 2 years (!) has been brought up to “average” which is unacceptable for a AAA title. Yet lately some content creators and fans act like it’s one of the top titles they’ve ever released (which is weird and a bit delusional). BFV started out the same way but at least it was brought up to “good” and being good isn’t good enough either.
Those people never played the older battlefields and were hard stuck on cod. So it was new for them and then the got some type of complex they are right and ogs good and casual players don't kown what we are talking about

Bfv was far better than 2042 no matter how much hate it got. It had near perfect combat gameplay the tanks for example. Performance is super smooth. 2042 is utter shit

I'm still bummed that they gave up on BF5, just when it was shaping up to be a great game. A Russian and German map pack with 4 maps each would've made it a great entry to the series.
Please no year 2. 2042 does NOT feel good enough to play for that. The fact mw2 feels smoother is insane to me.
Hard disagree as someone on PC, maybe a different story on console. I would play BF2042 over MW2 any day.

Sad to say but after V and 2042 I think that’s what it is now.
Whenever a new game comes out, they need to change the superman sprint speed.
The game has turned into cod warzone as far as movement is concerned.
I feel like S6 is the ”Summer update” of 2042.
I do think that Battlefield Redux was made just to make S6 Last rest of the year.
I don’t believe we will see S7 just because it would start Early Next year.

I personally think it wohld be premature of DICE to even announce another main-line entry for Battlefield any time before holiday 2025 at the earliest. We're slowly but surely creeping up on 2024 and a three-year development cycle isn't going to be enough time for them to avoid another subpar launch.
Maybe it'll be some offshoot BF title or something, but I would be absolutely floored if we heard anything about "BF6" or whatever at any point this year; other than perhaps a simple acknowledgement that they're working on it, I suppose.
The problem is with the mess of studios under the EA umbrella, something can pop up out of nowhere.
TBF I think 3 years of actual game development (not 50% engine upgrades like 2042 supposedly had) is definitely enough for a good battlefield game. Just look at Battlefield 1. It had 3 years of development time (2013-2016). While it had some questionable gunplay, the rest of the game was extremely high quality and the least buggy Battlefield Game at launch. They nailed almost everything about that game on launch plus a bunch of great DLC.
If the stars align (EA takes their filthy corporate fingers out of dice and let them make a good game instead of a good MTX store, good leads, and enough time) I could see us finally getting a good BF game in 2024 or early 2025.
I'll also be very surprised if they announce another season for 2042 after season 6. It seems to be 2042's "summer update". Just the rest of their content to fill the final season.
@@aidenduffin1528 if they did release the next game with the next 18 months, it would probably be reusing alot of 2042's framework and infrastructure. that might be okay for you (& others) but I would prefer it to use more of BFV's (the more kinaesthetic and tactical aspects, not the horrendous MTX or customisation) which would probably mean at least an additional year porting or adapting much of the infrastructure and framework.

I've lost all confidence in BF. I'll no longer pre order the bs they put out. They should have re made BF3 AND BF4 with updated graphics. They failed the community in every way.
Imho you shouldn't preorder any game, because:
-it allows companies to use you as a paying tester;
-games don't run out
The loud people yelling "We want a remaster of BF X" should just keep quiet, because that's not what the masses actually want. The masses want a game much similar to those, not exact copies.
Now my own opinion: The BF2042 is a lot closer to BF4 than any other game we have had. It's just lacking content. I mean vehicles are still a bit barebone with their customization, same with weapons and with their quantity. Overall the game has a lot of similarities to BF4. The heroes could have been just "Special gadgets" locked to each class and the characters could have been just normal soldiers. If the game would have launched like that people wouldn't have yelled nearly as much.
I want the next battlefield game to be a BFV style 2042 sequel. a near future 21st century war but with more Grounded and realistic elements (fortifications, vehicles having limited ammo, limited health regen, etc.). I will also be serious concerned if it has a release date within 18 months, it should probably be ~30-36 months away.
Everytime i hear an EA exec saying ‘battlefield reimagined’, i get scared. It’s the exact wording they used for bfv and 2042. I really hope it’s not reimagined in the same way those games were because I can’t imagine EA would let dice continue with another failure (considering id say they haven’t had a good, well received launched game since 2016 with bf1)
Honestly, give us a class system, awesome destruction, nice graphics, great gunplay, and MAPS!!!! That’s all we want!
All I know if the new Battlefield is another hero shooter then the franchise is truly lost. I will put the franchise down for good if it turns out to be one. IMO they need to go back to BF3/BF1942 and design the games on those. I want the games to be grounded in reality. Not realism but authenticity to whatever theater of war they choose.
Make the side games like BFBC3 where you want to go a bit goofier and if you want to have a microtransaction based cosmetics. I dont want hundreds of different skins that make it hard to distingush who the hell I'm shooting at. I want to look at the enemy and be able to within 2 seconds know what class they are.
A Cold War battlefield would be nice. Have it span across multiple decades and all over the world, from Korea to Vietnam to Africa.
@@karlgoodman9194 That would be neat but thats a really broad time period to cover. They would probably need to break it up but I'd be totally down for a Korean war or a new Vietnam Battlefield.

I really want a Vietnam war battlefield game. It’ll be a mix of old and new weapons & vehicles. I know that conflict was limited in terms of location obviously but it would be amazing to play in.

Hey, loved your vid. something crazy but I was actually in your game (user: Suhi_boy) where you killed the Mav. I had shot 2 rockets at it and then got killed, I actually watched you blow up the Mav when I was downed and so hyped that you had destroyed it because I was hunting it for a good 3 minutes. Thats why I recognized it in the video. just thought id mention it and hope have an amazing day.
The next Battlefield game is still probably multiple years away. It was just 2 weeks ago the EA had a job listing up looking for an experienced game director for the multiplayer portion of the next Battlefield game. So if they're just now starting to hire for it, we're probably stuck with 2042 for another 3 years.

The entire community wants a classic BF like 3 and 4, if they make anything other than that, I’m not even playing it because it just shows how much they arnt listening to the player base.
This will somehow end up being a 3v3 tactical hero shooter with the map design of Pong, graphics of Radical Heights, TTK of Halo, and character design of Hyenas. I don’t know how DICE could make such an abomination, I just know they’re more than capable.
The Battlefield IP has as much value as Saints Row, and we saw what happened to that studio…

In regards to Wilson talking about the battlefield ecosystem, that may relate to the rumour that Ripple Effect are working on a mobile Battlefield game with possible cross progression and play.
Any more details on that rumor?
Seems a little strange for them to scrap a mobile game that was already in development and then start on another one. This rumor smells super fishy to me.

@sniffleblox2354 actually you are wrong it's everyone's fault that contributed to the game even the devs. Remember the terms legacy features or expectations are brutal. Devs fault for not meeting deadlines due to working at home during the pandemic. While producers pushed unrealistic deadlines. This lower standard and we can fix it after release is what caused this mess.

It's hard to have ANY desire to play this game when it was so broken and unfinished at release and then it seems like every season is the last season and we never know if there's gonna be more content or not. I just haven't felt like investing time into a game that felt dead from the start and then having a completely unknown future.

Finished Season 5 fairly early including the Tier 1 badge for the season and haven't touched the game since, I'm think I'm ready for a new title, but at the same time don't want another BF title for at least a few more years. It's not as if releasing the next title is going to fix everything anyway, it will probably be a massively broken mess again, plagued with issues that will last for 2 years beyond its release date like 2042. I will however say that the change of leadership which occurred back in late 2021 for Battlefield has me intrigued, Vince has consistently put out great titles ranging from Medal of Honor, Call of Duty (originals), Titanfall & the Star Wars: Jedi franchise. Then we also have Marcus working on a new singleplayer Battlefield title along side the new multiplayer title. This excites me, but at the same time when EA's Andrew Wilson announces things like 'The next Battlefield game will be a re-imagination' - that worries me, because ultimately everyone just wants either Bad Company 3, BF3 2.0 or BF4 2.0.
What are your thoughts on the release date? There's a growing sentiment in the community that the next title wont release until late 2025.
I don't know. It depends on what other studios are doing. If it's a DICE title, yes 2025. If it's the SP, could be 2024.
Recent Battlefield games have consistently released every 2-3 years, with some older titles like Bad Company 2 and Hardline having March release dates being just 1.5 years from the last/next game. I would be really surprised if there was a 4 year gap with a 2025 release for the next battlefield game, unless they released a spinoff title a la Hardline somewhere in between.

I'd be surprised if we hear or see anything before next year and honestly even later. 3 years has been a fairly typical time between titles over the last 10 years. I wouldn't even be surprised to not see anything until 2025 based on how much of a re work it sounds like they are going todo but I hope I'm wrong there. If we got something next year that was a more bf3 like experience would be cool. I do enjoy 2042 now gameplay wise but it could be so much better

Great Video! 2042 is excellent now. I love almost everything about 2042, except DICES commitment to a second year. I would love to see new and remastered maps. REDUX has been excellent so far. Tactical Conquest is my favorite mode of any Battlefield game. 2042 now (not at launch) is by far my favorite Battlefield. 2042 is Battlefield re-imagined. I'll gladly pay you a 2nd year. I am very happy with DICE now. BFV could have been a masterpiece if DICE had stuck with it. 2042 is now BF4 on steroids. Keep 2042 going DICE!

Dice and EA are excited because they know people are going to give them lots of money for a pre-order of a new game that they can roll out half finished and never really fix it. I’ve played almost all the BF games since BF 1942 but I stopped after they walked away from an incomplete BF5.

Even if the next Battlefield game isnt a lot like the older games as long as it retains Key things and is a fun epic game. Its a win.
I'm wondering what that "exciting news" Flakfire was supposed to get in September was. Anything that we've heard as the public-facing fans has been about season 6, which is cool but not super exciting. I was hoping that we'd hear about an official confirmation of the next BF game coming next year or something. I think 2042 has run its course and it's just been losing players consistently post-season 4 (unfortunately). An announcement of a new title would do wonders to bring some people back to the game in preparation for the new game and would give us a "roadmap" of things to expect, such as how many more seasons the game will have or how the support for the rest of the lifecycle will look.
The exciting news I think surrounded the Boreas storyline - I did receive a card and letter in the mail relating to the narrative. I was hoping it'd be more substantial.

They can add all the new talent and idea's to the next game they want. It won't mean a god damn thing until the exec's get it through their out-of-touch skulls that they should leave the dev team alone and let them DO THEIR JOB!
It's a misconception most people are convinced of that the devs have full control over the direction of the game but so long as someone else is keeping their lights on and their projects funded, it's their tune that they're dancing to. Never forget, Battlefront 3's development was basically finished and ready for production when EA abruptly decided to pull the plug on it.
DICE is about to kill off the last few veteran battlefield fans.
For the love of God, please just make the next Battlefield feel more like an authentic military shooter. Yes we need the arcade "Battlefield moments" sprinkled in, but the base game should just feel gritty and *somewhat* realistic. Here's what I think we need:
- Large scale maps and a setting that makes you truly feel like you're "deploying" (think ARMA or Squad). A free roam map would be awesome, where you can battle other factions.
- Reworked gunplay. Recoil needs to be increased, along with bullet velocities. BF2042 gunplay looks NOTHING like what real life looks. BF3 and BF4 were much better at this.
- Hardcore damage being default
- Stop obsessing over graphics. Yes they need to be good, but the gunplay, environment and scalability are way more important
- All authentic military weaponry. Get rid of anything airsoft related. Full customization that makes sense. Zero perks.
- Add weight system. Heavier rifles should sway a ton
- More realistic movement. My soldier shouldn't be able to parkour over 7ft walls with 50+ pounds of gear on.
If there's a year 2 on 2042 I won't touch it lol I wanna like this game but I just cant.
I’m not hyping myself anymore after 2042. I’ll definitely be interested to see what they make. But if we just went old school BF3/4 even BF1 I’d be happier with that. But I don’t trust what they say now.
Haven’t we already been in Year 2? Game came out in November 2021. November 2022 would’ve marked 1 full year. Season 4 and 5 have been year 2
Well, "year one" from the perspective of seasons didn't start until last... May? I think? I can't remember exactly. So right now, that would make seasons 5 and 6 the first part of "year two".

They need to bring back the old ways of ea in general. With the start of the end beginning in battlefield 5, I think it’s time to go back to their roots and hopefully make a Vietnam war based game? Nobody has made a recent good console game centered around the Vietnam war

Kind of hate to say it, but I think going back to the premium model might be the way. Live service just ain’t it.
I think they are in a really big hole already and although it would be hard to revive the franchise at this point after BFV and 2042, they still have a chance if they play it right. Give us a classic experience with more than 2-3 factions or at least give us 3 factions with everything else the classic experience gave us. Would be nice to see a new game with new countries added, a good amount of weapons, vehicles, customization, destruction, server browser, and classes. Give us this and you will win back your fans and keep current ones. Id like to see no SP mode but im sure they will still throw in a crap 5 hour campaign I wont touch. Id also like to see live service gone unless you are going to actually support the game with decent content quickly and not 1 new map every 6 months. Give us 10-12 good maps at launch. And finally bring back all basic features that should have never been removed.
Ill never get excited for a new battlefield title ever again.

I’d be down for that. A game that takes place across multiple decades and all over the world would be a truly ambitious project. I’d be excited to see the wars in the Congo, Angola, and Rhodesia.
I wouldnt get my hopea up for hearing about the next battlefield game. My bet is the absolute earlieat we would hear about it is next Spring/Summer, but even then im anticipating a Fall 2025 release. They need thay time to make something thay won't insult the community
Bf needs a new game. 2042 is the first bf game I've left behind . Bf3 bf4 bf1 I could never put down. And Go back to premium or something because as much as people say it splits the player base, it gives you way more content and it's way better. Live service is garbage

Agreed. Needs to be an authentic, hardcore military shooter. It should have the Battlefield moment abilities sprinkled in. But the base needs to be REAL. Get rid of the work, arcadey, superhero bullshit. There's a reason nobody wants to play Shitfield 2042.
