The biggest loss Aer Lingus have caused is the 45 jobs from their own company. They cannot be held responible for the loss of local business, protecting other businesses not the job of a publically listed company. What Shannon should be doing is not demanding Aer Lingus to keep the route but to spend as much time as possible to look for a new airline to replace Aer Lingus, any other airport would do the same. After all aviation is a business it's there to make money.
Very interesting video! I can understand the anger and dissapointment from the people of the west howvever Aer Lingus is now flying on it's own and should be allowed to do so. A lot of the posters said "hands off our slots" the slots were never Shannons, they belong to Aer Lingus. "People not profit" then whats the point of an airline if its loosing money? At the end of the day Aer lingus is an business just like any other.
