    Hi Denise! I have this TressAllure Wig Wax product. Yes, it does have a heavy scent when you spray (and I love the way it smells) but the scent does not last too long. I did get caught in the rain last week and I could smell it again when it was wet, but once my hair dried, the scent was just about gone.. I, too, think it works great to add volume and yet, no left over residue. I use it pretty often on all my wigs. It does not have the same result as the Jon Renau piece-out cream. Like you said, it's more like hair spray. Thanks for your honest review. You are the BEST! God Bless you! XO

    I agree with you on the name, seems misleading. I'm glad to see the review! I wish they'd stop putting perfumes in these products.There is really no need for it and they'd sell more if they would produce scent-free products, I believe. Nice to know it doesn't seem to coat the fibers and make them feel dirty, though! That might make it worth a try. Thanks, Denise.

    Thank you so much, Denise, for sharing your experiences and giving us your insight on this product! 💕 I‘ve seen other reviewers use it and wasn’t sure whether I want to try it. But after watching your video you totally convinced me and now I want to try it, too! I don’t mind scents, I love them! I have a dry shampoo that is heavily scented and love the smell that lingers for quite a while. I agree with you about the JR piece out cream, it’s good, but doesn’t feel so good the next time you wear a wig.

I’m so glad to see that you love this product because you always delve into each of your reviews with great honesty and detail and I love that! And I agree with you about the Jon Renau piece-out, it does dirty up the wig pretty quickly. It is a good product though. Another honest, helpful review. I know wig sisters who soak their wigs in cold water the second they get them. Why would they do that? And then, I heard wash every 10-12 wears. Sigh. So glad you give practical advice. Because of your prior advice I now have most of my hair back in the boxes and only keep out 3 that I plan to wear soon. I so appreciate your generosity and sincere help with my wig journey. TY

    • @heywigsister
      @heywigsister  2 года назад +1

      I occasionally feel the need to soak a new wig in cold water if it is curly and has really bad box hair. Usually spraying with water is enough. I've never felt the need to do that with a straight wig, though. When I do it is just plain water, I don't wash it. I do try to go 10-12 wears before washing whenever possible.

    Wow, I find this product phenomenal! I’ve always worked to get lift in the front of my men’s heat friendly wigs, with varying success (best luck with Piece Out crème and holding spray). But this stuff by far offers the best results I’ve had with lift/volume. My new wig has 5,5” frontal fibers and I was ready to steam it to get some frontal lift-but Denise is right, Wig Wax really can be an alternative to steaming for lift in the front (albeit you gotta do it daily). I followed Denise’s advice and did two applications, letting them dry in between and it held 80% of the lift for 8+ hours. It did feel slightly “crunchy”, but as Denise mentioned you can’t have your cake and eat it too.
    Wig Wax is one of the top performing products for synthetic fibers I’ve used, right up there with Piece Out and Estitica Nourish & Renew conditioner. I just ordered a second back-up can so I’ll never come close to be without it.

    Ok... Got this product in the mail yesterday after ordering it through your link. It didn't come soon enough before I left to run some errands. I put on Mellow (Estetica I think) and within 10 minutes of leaving the house, I regretted putting that wig on. The fly aways were HORRIBLE and the front area (where bangs would normally be) wouldn't stay up. Kept falling down into my face even though I had somewhat redirected it with water & the hot air dryer. When I got home, the Wig Wax was there and I immediately sprayed and then sprayed some more. LOVE the smell, btw, but more importantly, it took care of the issues I was having... beautifully! I can not THANK YOU ENOUGH for trying this product and then telling us about it. This will be a permanent staple in my wig repertoire! Hugs! 💜 💚

    YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! I have been looking for a product like this. The thing I have the biggest issue with is all the fly aways from static cling or just being a little dried out. Plus the help with lift staying. THANK YOU for sharing this. So excited!

      This might help; I put about a tablespoon of Downy (unscented) in an 8oz spray bottle of water to control static. Shake it well! Since fabric softener is basically to control static cling, this works well !

      In my opinion it works better than hairspray on wigs. I have personally not had much success with wig hairspray doing much of anything so I do think this is actually better. Again it's personal preference but I have not ever found a hairspray that I really like on wigs and this does what I had hoped regular hairspray would do.
