As much as love this solo, the riffs in this song are SO GOOD!!! Everytime I play along and the solo comes I end up playing the rhythm cause it's so much fun
This is why it annoys me when people say Kirk sucks or is overrated. He’s on everyone’s “most overrated guitarists” videos. People need to go back and listen to the first four albums. Great playing my man!
That was an EPIC album, and high time for Kirk. Big shame on the technical team and of course the management that they let ruin that fantastic masterpiece. Blackened is still one of the best 'Tallica songs ever written. Evergreen.
@@StephLeGratteux Damn right. That was fucked up . This album is until recently (under this very shit conditions) one of the best metal albums ever. Not a fast thrash album, but technically wonderful. And the concept was perfect too.
wasnt the technical teams fault, it was lars and james fault. lars demanded the bass be turned down like 6 db so you could barely hear it, and he had to listen to him. he shouldve changed it back, but that wasnt his job or his place
The bad mixing and lack of bass were totally against the mixer's vision, Lars asked to "lower the bass to the point where it is barely audible", James agreed with them and the audio engineer thought it was a joke at first, but he couldn't do anything as they had the final word. As much as I respect them, shame on Lars and James dude.
@@StephLeGratteux 2022 est une année pas mal chargée sur différents points (en particulier, changement de job) et j'ai bien besoin de vacances mais ça roule. J'essaie aussi de me remettre progressivement à faire de la musique. 😄
@@MattyPS Comment ça se fait ? James était pas trop en forme ? A part ça, j'ai mixé notre vieille collab de Man on the Edge xD Faudra que je t'envoie ça.
Top job...this has got to be one of the longest videos/ guitar lessons that you have posted in a long while..it will probably take me from now until Christmas day to nail it!

Yes the riffs and whole rhythm are killers. The first riff of the song might be one of their best.
The best Metallica song, and by far the best Metallica solo.

It would have been so much better with the bass in the mix, right ? :D And also maybe a better drum sound/mixing.

What solos of rock or metal songs do you recommend learning and I'm talking about long solos like two minutes or more?
Top job...this has got to be one of the longest videos/ guitar lessons that you have posted in a long while..it will probably take me from now until Christmas day to nail it!
Thanks. Right! I had to check and it's even longer than Nightrain outro or Achilles Last Stand solo.

Perfect basketball shoes, but I used'em for runnin'.
N'runnin, runnin', and runnin', runnin'...😂😊🤗
spot on lesson except at 1:24 none of the notes except the first should be picked - they're all hammer ons
Thanks. You're right, I guess I'm too used to the similar lick on Whiplash solo where more notes are picked.
@@StephLeGratteux yeah kirk sure likes reusing that one lick ;p
