Just wanted to point out how difficult it is to sing this song..voice coaches have reacted to this and they can't believe what Mitch is doing..and live..Ive read the original song..auto tone was used to be able to switch notes because if you listen carefully..it goes up and down within seconds throughout this song..I LOVE MITCH..he is one of the most talented individuals I've ever heard..and he makes it look so easy..true natural talent..
I read an article that Mitch admitted that learning how to do what he did was one of the most difficult things to do. And he makes it look effortless. But then, Mitch is an alien unicorn.
Not even so much autotune, but the "Roof is fallin', let me love" chorus is sampled and much of it is played back by the keyboardist. Mitch, seemingly effortlessly, just does it with his amazing talent for seamlessly shifting registers. And the 3-way relay they use on the final chorus of it always blows my mind.
Mitch always looks like it’s effortless when he sings. These high notes are no big deal, it’s insane. And the blend of the core trio singers always blows me away.
Doesnt really matter what you do next. With a catalogue of over 200 amazing songs, and I hope you do them all, you cant go wrong. I personally love SING, but any will do.

PopSpring 2016 is live, perfect sound and it includes 3 originals and the evolution of Michael Jackson!!! It’s my favorite video ever! Also Mitch does a cover of Your Power by Billie Eilish that is mind blowing and then the group does a cover of her song, when the party’s over that is breathtaking as well.
PTX actually refers to themselves as a band - because they consider themselves as creating a full sound and as competition for all music rather than just the a capella genre - so you can go with "band" if you want.
You have no idea how happy I am you're going down the rabbit hole. Wise choice. Mitchslap! A fricken must, and here's what you do: Watch the official video of Aha, then watch the live version from Singapore Star Vista... in that order. In one reaction video. As soon as humanly possible. Notes about Star Vista... yes it's shot from a cell phone but it's still badass. Kevin is there, the video just never shows him.
Most of their songs take six listens. One as a whole and five to focus on individuals… at least for me. Don’t know if you did Havana. But that is an absolute fave cover that pays homage to the original (like Bohemian Rhapsody) and then take it further in their unique way.
It helps to watch/listen to each video repeatedly. Each time focusing on one singer or pair at a time. You’ll still never quite figure it out, but it helps!

Two things... 1, remember that Kiiara had to use a LOT of electronics to make the sounds that these guys are making with just their voices. AMAIZING!! And 2, you will want to watch this video many times to catch what each person is doing. It really helps if you put a paper over everyone except the one person you want to focus on. It's EPIC!

Scott, Mitch, and Kirstin ("The Trio") have been singing together for 15 years as of 2021 (they were in high school together), so they are all really synched to each other. During the group's first public appearances in the line-up you see here on The Sing-Off, judge Shawn Stockman (of Boys II Men) dubbed Avi and Kevin "Meat and Potatoes," as the indispensable foundation for the group's signature sound. When Matt came on as bass in place of Avi in 2017, he had some big shoes to fill, but he's been a real knock-out.

a rule of thumb for me with PTX is that I watch each new song at least 5 times and each time I concentrate on each member so that I can see exactly what they're doing. every time after the 5th time is bonus! haha ❤️

If you search Pentatonix Isolated vocals, you will find a few of their most popular songs. These videos usually go through each song 5 times, one for each part. Yes, they are midi files, which kinda suck, but you can see how the parts are put together really well. Sometime in the past, I have found version where the volumn is adjusted so just one person is louder than the others also. Can't remember how to search for that.
Judging by the aspects of the songs you've already heard from them, that you seem to be drawn to and focus on, I would highly suggest Carol of the Bells and White Winter Hymnal. But there are SO MANY to listen to!
If you want to hear each member’s voice, you should definitely listen to Amazing Grace!! It is absolutely stunning- and even if you aren’t “religious”, you can appreciate its amazing- ness! Mitch doesn’t do his epic high singing in this, but it is his more middle range. I could listen to it multiple times in a row without getting tired of it (guilty). Can You Feel the Love Tonight is another stunner (Kirstin mostly leads), and you will also get your “high-register Mitch-itch” scratched . 😁

Pentatonix has re-defined the meaning of A Capella which is defined as "without instrumental accompaniment" but PTX not only sing, their voices ARE the instruments. Keep reacting to more PTX and you will see. Here they also do synthesized sounds. Mitch Grassi is a superb talent and his vocal acrobatic skills are on display here with those notes, vocal slides and smooth tone. Scott with his signature pop sounds, Kirstie with the ear candy, Avi so deep on the bass and Kevin sounding like a whole drum set, just brings this all together with Mitch sliding up and down those notes. PTX arrangements are superb. They are masters of their craft. Perfection!! More PTX please. Covers and Originals, Studio Versions and Live Recordings. You will be amazed. Most people listen to each song 5-6 times...the original time & then 5 more so you can focus on one person each time😂. All their songs are great so pick whatever sounds good to you. I would highly suggest throwing in a few originals such Sing, Coffee in Bed, Love Me When I Don’t (live), Be My Eyes..are a few of their more popular ones. Sing was rearranged and used as the intro to Thursday Night Football for a couple of years. I’m enjoying your reactions, both Pentatonix & Led Zeppelin!
Mitch and Scott have a side project called superfruit. I noticed you loved their voices together. I would recommend starting maybe with their evolution of Beyonce bc Beyonce herself posted it and wrote, "Mitch and Scott are FLAWLESS". That's how good it was. I was hoping and praying for a new reactor that really appreciated Pentatonix today so I feel very blessed to have this come up on my you tube feed. Excellent reaction. Coincidentally this is not one that is requested often and I just suggested it to another reactor. Everything they do is amazing but one of my favorites is "New Rules x Are you that Somebody". It's Timbalands beats which he used machines for and Kevin and Matt replicate them with just their voices. Can't wait for the next one and am going back for the ones Ive missed!

Okay, there's Hallelujah, Amazing Grace, Daft Punk Medley and Sounds of Silence. That's the core songs that are the most popular. Some reactors do them and switch to somebody else. Drives me nuts. HOWEVER, there's so many other fabulous songs to chose from, and Christmas songs (brace yourself, they start just before Halloween and it goes through New Year). HOWEVER, TWO of my favorite covers are CHEERLEADER and HAVANA. Please, please do them soon! (and then, you really gotta get into some of their originals.)
This is one of my favorites. The stripped down one take approach is phenomenal. Also if you enjoyed their early daft punk medley, you should check out their original song Love again that was produced around the same time with similar aesthetics.

I love the set, so low key, yet some of the most wonderful harmonies and Kevin was just killing it! That song should be 10 minutes long so we can take it all in. I had never seen this in nearly two years of watching them., and now I want to put it among my favorites.

a rule of thumb for me with PTX is that I watch each new song at least 5 times and each time I concentrate on each member so that I can see exactly what they're doing. every time after the 5th time is bonus! haha ❤️

If you search Pentatonix Isolated vocals, you will find a few of their most popular songs. These videos usually go through each song 5 times, one for each part. Yes, they are midi files, which kinda suck, but you can see how the parts are put together really well. Sometime in the past, I have found version where the volumn is adjusted so just one person is louder than the others also. Can't remember how to search for that.
Judging by the aspects of the songs you've already heard from them, that you seem to be drawn to and focus on, I would highly suggest Carol of the Bells and White Winter Hymnal. But there are SO MANY to listen to!

If you want to hear each member’s voice, you should definitely listen to Amazing Grace!! It is absolutely stunning- and even if you aren’t “religious”, you can appreciate its amazing- ness! Mitch doesn’t do his epic high singing in this, but it is his more middle range. I could listen to it multiple times in a row without getting tired of it (guilty). Can You Feel the Love Tonight is another stunner (Kirstin mostly leads), and you will also get your “high-register Mitch-itch” scratched . 😁

Pentatonix has re-defined the meaning of A Capella which is defined as "without instrumental accompaniment" but PTX not only sing, their voices ARE the instruments. Keep reacting to more PTX and you will see. Here they also do synthesized sounds. Mitch Grassi is a superb talent and his vocal acrobatic skills are on display here with those notes, vocal slides and smooth tone. Scott with his signature pop sounds, Kirstie with the ear candy, Avi so deep on the bass and Kevin sounding like a whole drum set, just brings this all together with Mitch sliding up and down those notes. PTX arrangements are superb. They are masters of their craft. Perfection!! More PTX please. Covers and Originals, Studio Versions and Live Recordings. You will be amazed. Most people listen to each song 5-6 times...the original time & then 5 more so you can focus on one person each time😂. All their songs are great so pick whatever sounds good to you. I would highly suggest throwing in a few originals such Sing, Coffee in Bed, Love Me When I Don’t (live), Be My Eyes..are a few of their more popular ones. Sing was rearranged and used as the intro to Thursday Night Football for a couple of years. I’m enjoying your reactions, both Pentatonix & Led Zeppelin!

Mitch and Scott have a side project called superfruit. I noticed you loved their voices together. I would recommend starting maybe with their evolution of Beyonce bc Beyonce herself posted it and wrote, "Mitch and Scott are FLAWLESS". That's how good it was.
I was hoping and praying for a new reactor that really appreciated Pentatonix today so I feel very blessed to have this come up on my you tube feed. Excellent reaction. Coincidentally this is not one that is requested often and I just suggested it to another reactor.
Everything they do is amazing but one of my favorites is "New Rules x Are you that Somebody". It's Timbalands beats which he used machines for and Kevin and Matt replicate them with just their voices. Can't wait for the next one and am going back for the ones Ive missed!

Okay, there's Hallelujah, Amazing Grace, Daft Punk Medley and Sounds of Silence. That's the core songs that are the most popular. Some reactors do them and switch to somebody else. Drives me nuts. HOWEVER, there's so many other fabulous songs to chose from, and Christmas songs (brace yourself, they start just before Halloween and it goes through New Year). HOWEVER, TWO of my favorite covers are CHEERLEADER and HAVANA. Please, please do them soon! (and then, you really gotta get into some of their originals.)

This is one of my favorites. The stripped down one take approach is phenomenal. Also if you enjoyed their early daft punk medley, you should check out their original song Love again that was produced around the same time with similar aesthetics.
