AriochStarr yeah the cymbals and drums always give of the same sound, no matter how hard or with what technique you hit. If he played like that on a real set you couldn't hear the bass, even if you were standing right next to him
AriochStarr It woulnd't be impossible as long as you're using a quad bass. Also it would require years of practice to play this fast and accurate, but also clean and loud on a real set. I just dislike how he acts as if he was a bass king even though his blasts are wayyyyyy too underpowered to do so. Lie I said, the way he plays one wouldn't be able to hear the bass.
ChiliLP Ahh, I see. Apologies for trying to over-complicate things. I guess I'm just trying to sound like a smart arse. But I don't know how you can tell he's acting like he's the "bass king". Just looks like he enjoys what he does to me. I suppose you have a different way of reading people than I, whether you're right or not.
I had never heard something like that before. It´s amazing....It´s a question of finding its musical function within the different styles and it´ll be revolutinary
@@RealJohi You wouldnt be able to hear all the individual hits when playing this fast on an acoustic kick drum. People think its an cheat but its actually the total opposite since you will be able to hear the tiniest of mistakes.
LOL Hilarious man. Also I love how its really mellow and funky sounding with ungodly blasts of quad bass under it. And actually I really the song playing and your drumming to match. Nice vid man!!
@TheSpazzarro It does makes you faster because there's less effort to get sound. If you read other comments you'll see that others say the same thing. I've been playing almost 20 years. I think I might know a little about drums by now.
Wow.. from an owner of an electric kit myself I know he has the sensitivity up to 1,000 or something. excuse he's barely making an effort to hit those pads..
@Mordain607 i think its the either one pedal hit causes the two to go back and forth or when you hit the pedal one hits and when you drop it back the other hits
Also using drumsticks is cheating. They're ment to be hit with bare hands... Also how do you' cheat' playing an instrument? Isnt the goal to make sound?
@Arkain9 No actually they are modified pedals that give you the ability to use a second beater with your heal. Triggers are sound recording devices that are made for acoustic kits and detect the vibration of the drum and add an electronic sound to the recording in order to help it not get drowned out by the other instruments, with can be a problem with recording. Many great drummers use them, they do not reduce the amount of skill it takes.
@MykeUntold13 When you press down on the pedal one beater moves and when you lift your foot up, allowing the pedal to move back upward, the other beater moves
i dont know why people take it so seriously saying omg you are cheating bla bla... in fact using a dualist pedal like this could be a little bit more confusing on the slower rhythms since you get a beat when you lift your foot. and even if he used single beaters he would be faster than most of you haters :) thanks a lot, it was an entertaining video.
@Hipno702 Nah, I found it out, actually - the pedal is split in two, so moving the front of your foot hits the bass (like with a normal pedal), but moving your heel back down also hits the bass.
@97tokio this isn't a computer program, there is no "bot" to play everything perfectly in time. All notes he's playing, the absolute perfect and consistant double bass is by him playing in time. Take away a beat on eat pedal so it turns into a normal double bass...he's still playing VERY consistantly and in time. Adding another beat on each pedal and playing consistant and in time is just that much harder.
and you can hear where the "fake" audio kicks out and the audio from the camera kicks in at the end when he drops the sticks, you can hear the audio being switched from absolutely no external audio at all and no backround noise to when he drops the sticks you can hear the backround noise and the white static noise. meaning at the end is the true audio from what he's playing
@Omegist Exactly. It's not the speed itself, it's the accuracy. Trying to get TWO beaters evenly timed at that tempo would be annoying, but four? Good night.
you have some kind of orbing going on there. nice tune, what iv'e come to listen i have heard it and it was NICE! keep it on, make yourself some kind of new ultra fast kill speed metal. it will be AWESOME
@DaDrumingMan hes totally a drummer, just because he uses a quad bass doesnt mean he isnt a drummer nor does he know how to play. some people think its catchy and sounds better using triple or quad basses. i do, but i only use double.
nah these ones work differnetly, they work, so that on a single stroke down, a beater hits like usual on any sinlge pedal, but when the foot board moves back up to go for a second stroke, the next beater hits, so that in one down up motion two hits are made, there are connecting rods and chains that make it do so.
so, did you make that pedel? or does it comes with orginal bass pedel (im talking about.. alternate one foot pedel if you know what i mean..) great video tho!
It's Pretty cool and all, but if you would the same (sort of) pedals on an acoustic set, would get a good sound? it seems to me that when you're going this fast, you loose all the power in your kicks..?
That bassline is hilarious
Sounds like the bassist is a Mudvayne fan.
@@SaltWaterDrums or a tryhard primus fan?

He did another drum video on an acoustic set without triggers. It's pretty damn brutal.

1:07 bro doing triplets with that thing is horrifying…that’s genuinely impressive
Such a laid back song for such high speed blasting
Doing this with Quadruple Bass: Epic.
Doing this with Double Bass: Amazing
Doing this with 1 Bass Drum: Godly
Doing this without a bass: violent flatulence
@@iododendron3416 fuck you take my like

I can do it with double bass, but I have to scale it down a bit
I remember finding this video when I first started playing drums in 2007. Legend!!
Omg I just came across this again...haven't seen it in like 10 years. Still so funny 😂
A 10 warthhog drum cover
That bass line is ridiculously sick.
Obviously it's a quad pedal, since it shows and even tells.
But this is still extremely hard to do, he's so damn consistent
Roflol the background music sounds like elevator music, imagine hearing these drums in an elevator! lololol
Came back after 16 years! 🤙🏻
Yeah. These pedals are OP
This video/song is a classic.
Oh man, 10 years! I remember like it was yesterday.
Sweet groove, great for slowjams!
can't believe he was 25 in this video, time flies man
I don't think I've ever seen some play bass notes quite like that.
Both interesting and impressive.
now see him play this on a real set, you won't even hear a sound
Is his set different to that of a real one?

i was waiting for some one to take two dualist and put them together. thank you for doing this
@ElEsteparioSiberiano but can you play this? I thought of this video instantly after watching your double dualist pedal setup!
those drums are so triggered you can call them a feminist who has encountered an opposing viewpoint

This reminds me of writing drums in Cubase VST 5.0 back in 2001, when Windows 98 hangs as it's playing a MIDI bass drum note.
Look like your feet didn't move and the bass drums sound are like machine gun. So incredible.

@123Elmo321zildjan no, he has set the springs so the beaters are very close to the bass drum pads. then its little effort to hit them.
@Hipno702
Nah, I found it out, actually - the pedal is split in two, so moving the front of your foot hits the bass (like with a normal pedal), but moving your heel back down also hits the bass.
i love the bass sound in the background

A certain point when the drum hits sound like one long consistant note is when it stops sounding musical at all.
hey we should replace the cymbals with bass pedals
