Cant believe all them bikes and house and he cant afford a lift hehe 😂
The person who started that chain tensioner bolt started crooked. The guy who tightened it ran it in when he should have felt the tension. I watched you do it on the video. I knew you stripped it before you told the story. This dude making the video, he's an ego maniac and does shit too fast, including thinking and talking. Again, the person who started the bolt and used the ratchet, he's the one responsible for the screw up. You East Coast dudes are kinda weird
Hey Moe hey Larry how about a helicoil or do you need a video first
Damn it! Every time I watch a video, you convince me to buy something else! Thanks for making sure I buy the best!!
Ride on!!
Just wondering if that bolt was already stripped, causing the adjuster to fail
Sandy is such a nice guy. Great video as always. Love the LePera tailwhip seat on the beautiful grey SG.
What fluid did evolution tell you to use? I have the same setup the tech guy told me to run B&M trick shift.
I feel bad for him !!! Lol on Sandy's vibrator !! 😂
Wow! I ride an S&S 110ci Road Glide (twin cam) and I had the same thing happen to me! I thought to myself,"I've never heard of this happening to anyone else!" Boy was I mistaken. No more hayden for me! I purchased the latest iteration of the Harley tensioner and I haven't had a problem since! Thanks for the video!
Agree stock tensioner is the best option.
Baker armored attitude adjuster is the best option, but only if it’s installed correctly. All chain and sprocket set ups have a tight spot. Chain tension must be set on the loose spot.
I've always found couple of turns back seats the bolt ..
It’s important to align compensator to ring gear sprockets. Equally important to set a manually adjusted chain tensioner to 5/8 - 11/16” max free play for the loose spot of the primary chain. All chain + sprocket setups have a tight spot and a loose spot. Set any manual tensioner to 5/8” free play for the loose spot.
You will be pleased with the noise level and longevity.
My Hayden did the same to me! Got chewed up the same. Garbage. Went back to stock tensioner working like a charm.
That sucks having a stripped bolt.
Oh man, my favorite content of yours is always when you guys are out riding crushing miles. Not at the expense of Nadal’s bike breaking, but a close second is when you are educating us on upgrading, repairing or bulletproofing these motors! I think Nadal got lucky, his engine could have really locked up. Reminded me of a time years ago, I was riding into my local HD shop for something like replacing tires. The guys in the shop heard my bike making too much noise from the inner primary as I was pulling in. I had no clue. They opened it up to fix a similar stock piece that had gone bad, could have been worse. Can’t wait for Part 2. Great to see Sandy there raiding the coffee, keeping you guys on point, overseeing the decisions made, to properly diagnosing and making the needed repair! 🤣👊🇺🇸
Timeserts work perfect to fix that stripped hole. Helicoil is for light duty.
My rear rotor is done with timeserts because someone striped 3 holes. I did all 5 holes for my rotor because it spins so fast.
wow !
Did it break cause of miss alignment. I’m dumb that’s why I’m asking
Great video John! Does the new clutch set up come with directions and all the torque specs? It does look fairly easy to do..glad you found Nadel’s issue before it could have been worse! I really like these install videos! Keep up the great work!
Too bad new Harleys need to be rebuilt right from the factory.
This only needs to be done when you double the horse power.
What was wrong with the stock clutch besides nothing?
The moral of the story is, don't mess with your Harley's motor. Stock they are plenty fast. Leave well enough alone. Otherwise, you're just asking for trouble. You want a really fast bagger? Get a BMW 1600B. 160 HP stock. You want more speed? Get a Hyabusa or any number of sport bikes.
I disagree
Stock motors suck bad
Always upgrade and then upgrade more.
There people that want a motorcycle and there are people who want a hot rod
Jesus. That is in no way a typical sound. Damn.
Why did he not use the dark horse compensator?
Sorry that happened
Heli-Coil is better than factory...
Another great video! Thanks
Tap and dye it no need to replace the whole thing
Good video.
Cool crowd of guys...
Great video with relevant content!
Thanks for the Video 👌
Good video! I had a tensioner disintegrate like that on a TC 103 heritage I had in the past. It'll definitely wreck your day. It was an aftermarket tensioner too, installed by previous owner
I had that same sound .. sounds almost like rod knock but not really… and sound comes from primary area .. not motor botom end
Bet the clutch assembly hitting the primary cover.
Bike under warranty for me anyway ..
I did new primary fluid and issue went away. U can see where it was hitting the primary cover.
When I get time I’ll have the dealer thst did the install of the stage 2 deal with it.
Seems like the heavy lope was causing it to move. Idk why new fluid issue went away. Nothing came out when I drained it.
Gonna do big bore kit over winter (no I don’t park the bike over winter but there’s times I cant ride … Chitown sucks lol.) Anyway I’ll have them deal with it then
Yalla Yalla hahaha love it!
😂 hilarious. I actually learned a lot from this one, thanks for sharing. 👍🏾
after speaking to the guys at Evolution I went with the same clutch set up with the STEEL inner basket and the dark horse sprocket. I went with the STOCK tensioner because both Evolution and Dark Horse suggested it. It pulls VERY well. No weird noises. The only downfall is there is a little more engine pulses at 2800 rpm if the throttle is steady. completely normal.
Great video, John question anyway u can reach out to evolution and get your subs a discount code?? Huh huh?? Good for the company and we can use your code lol!! Love the clutch you guys are right that is a beast of a clutch!!
Amazing video made by my talented friends. I don't know how you guys figure all of this out but its a truly remarkable.
Get them man a lift😂
Great video, John. Ah the fun that can be had when a of the boys get together in a garage and do some Wrenching on a bike. The time flies by with all the laughs. I'm Nedal is gonna love it. Great content. See ya soon, brother.
Awesome video as always John ride safe and enjoy. Happy holidays to you and your family.
You don’t recommend the dark horse compensator eliminator anymore ?
Should chase all those bolt holes first. Not that I do but that’s what the good guys say to do lol.
I’ve got a 05 Electra Glide CVO with the 103 SCREAMING EAGLE and had the same problem and had to get it replaced
Was there a reason you went back to the stock style compensator with the newer ramp and not continue using the Man-O-War Motorsproket? I am looking at doing this upgrade soon but was thinking of using the Man-O-War. Any info on preference would be appreciated.
The compensator serves as somewhat of a cushion between all your other primary components. However, the factory ramp is brittle and can often break into pieces under too much stress. the man of war deletes that but taking out the compensator ramp also deletes that cushion, ultimately applying more torque and more stress to the rest of your primary components. that’s my understanding at least
Great content brother!!!!!
I'm tired of listening to you!
