This isn't a paid ad (I actually didn't even know Jordy had a supplement business before the podcast), Jordy has just offered this up after seeing so many comments asking about it. Thanks legends!

    Dude... I wrestled high school and walk on for college. Motocross is by far the most extreme individual sport I have ever competed in. There is an isolation component to MX that no other sports offer. In sports like wrestling there is mental time for strategy in most cases. Not MOTO... 100% react to what is given to you, while being pushed beyond what you think you are physically capable of... Best drug ever...

      That was interesting because I remember hearing some other professional nutritionist person (I can't remember their name, it was a couple years ago) explain that a little sugar helps you hydrate faster because every molecule of glucose that goes through your intestine into your blood carries 2 molecules of water with it. But it sounds like that drink would take longer to get from your stomach to your intestine to begin with. Maybe that first person was wrong. Time for more homework...

During the working week I'm drinking 200ml an hour of DiH20 and pissing like a horse constantly. In the days comming into an event I'll add carbohydrate and creatine(once a day) as loading. Night before and first rise morning of the event I'll try drink as much water as possible 3L being the target. During the event, I'll avoid water as I've found it causes cramps and will drink a fruit juice/carbo mix and smash electrolyte caps. Failure to do any of this and I'll cook and cramp like a MF.

I'll drink 1gal plus at the track, not pee all day and still feel dehydrated at the end of the day, so there must be something I can do better. Trying to keep calories going in is another challenge.

    I call BS on this. Selling the product by telling everyone water can’t hydrate a person is in the stupid box. Facts: electrolytes provide better hydration than water - but saying water can’t hydrate…?! Also, if you combine electrolytes with sugar, you are closer to water. My advice - try a few. I like Nuun the best as it seems to have the best mix and provides no sugar meaning the fluid is getting absorbed faster. Or go cheap and make your own. Mix 1/4 teaspoon of salt into water 30 minutes before a moto. Add in potassium and magnesium to further improve the mix. Just don’t go too heavy on the elements. Quantities can be found online.

    If you eat the carbs and drink the electrolytes together I would think the carbs would mix into the solution changing the osmolarity.
    Seems a wait between the liquid and solid would allow the liquid to be absorbed quickly by itself and then eat the carbs.
    Even five or ten minutes should give the fluids a head start.
    If you know what the average rate of absorption of pure water vs a hypotonic solution is please let me know.
    Damage to the lining of the intestine from alcohol,stress, overeating or drugs leading to inflammation could drastically affect absorption too.

    So he kinda lost me on when he was asked the question about whether or not you should rehydrate with his secret mixture on top of maybe eating some carbs and he said that it really didn't matter because the food sits higher than the fluids in your stomach and that the fluids will still get through faster into your blood stream while you still gain the benefits of the carbs being digested slower?? Is this accurate? I always was told that ANY foods in your gut will slow down the digestion process (just like drinking beer and eating a lot of bread slows the absorption) so I would think you should drink the hydration mixtures first and then eat..no?? Thanks for any insight.

    It’s much simpler than what’s explained here. If you’re eating raw living foods (high amounts of fruit especially) you will naturally replenish all the necessary electrolytes and minerals to stay hydrated. Up hydration even more with a juice extractor. All cooked foods will have an acid ash effect on the body and will cause some form of dehydration. Sports drinks like Gatorade are the worst and should never be consumed by any athlete trying to rehydrate being that it has a PH of high 3’s or low 4’s. Supplements are not necessary!

    • @townley1017
      @townley1017 Год назад +1

      Honestly your comment makes more sense- it merges in well with what he’s saying.
      Yeah these drinks may be good for rapid replenishment, but you’re better off eating good and drinking water- it’ll effectively do the same thing as changing the concentrations. I suppose it’s useful occasionally. I’d probably use it for hard running races every now and then.

      Not the best for hydration due to sugar content.

    I never heard the name of the product mentioned and there's no link in the description. Is this something that he's formulated just for his athletes?

    Very interesting! How does that relate to say a blood test looking at electrolytes in the body? Cause i drink a lot of water and sometimes alkaline water but still worry about dehydration. Bloodwork always looks good though.

    He doesn't say NOT to drink water. He is stating that the body needs more than just water. Water passes quickly. You just piss it out. The Gatorade is the product that slows the body down when it's trying to rehydrate. Did half the people in this comment section watch a different segment...

    If you use salt don’t use table salt use Celtic salt or Himalayan salt they have way more minerals in them than table salt table salt is basically only good if you need iodine

    Not kidding I've always said water is not the way . And I learned this because racing I'd always drink a Gatorade then water , water, water , and I'd have heart burn like a mofo for the rest of the day . So then I started drinking body armors and man those are the way to go .

    I fucked up today boys, did a 100 mile Grand Prix race that I did not properly hydrate for and on the final lap I got a cramp in my leg that can only be described as my knee actually exploding. I handle pain well when I know there’s nothing “wrong” and even tho I knew I wasn’t gonna like break myself by continuing it hurt so bad I had to lay my bike down. Was locked up so bad it’s not even funny. Even when I got home it flared up again and basically couldn’t move it for about an hour.

      I did a track and trail Enduro free ride. Attempted two 5mile laps of a pretty knarly course. I fell and washed out the front and my quads cramped so bad my legs got stuck straight and I had to waddle off the track and fix them, luckily someone else helped me pick my bike up. Not fun, definitely gonna hydrate properly

    I wonder how humanity survived without these miracle drinks. Imagine Ceaser's army marching 30 km carrying 25 kilos in one day rain or shine. How did they hydrate? Water!!! Give me a break. How did the American Indian hydrate?Or the australian aborigines ?

      We are talking about hydration for peak performance... I bet the Romans used the best tech they had at the time to perform at their peak also.

    • @ricoingles8322
      @ricoingles8322 2 года назад +1

      @@GYPSYTALES I can relate to that. Id say the human body is an adaptable machine and qill compensate if trained. The roman legions never took a break while on campaign. After they marched all day they built a fortified camp, and started everything again the next day, Fought all day and hardley ever rested Pretty gnarly dudes comparable to anything you see today. Their rations consisted of bread, grain , olive oil and hunted game as well. Pretty fit Id say.

    • @GYPSYTALES
      @GYPSYTALES  2 года назад

      @@ricoingles8322 It's not to say you can't be fit without this type of stuff. But it is to say that there is such a thing as better... Can you ride a stock bike fast, yes... Will it go faster if you add race gas, yes again...

    • @ricoingles8322
      @ricoingles8322 2 года назад +1

      @@GYPSYTALES The problem today is where is this all going to stop. The stock human pro racer today doesnt exist. Only the factory human (no pun intended) Only those willing to undergo expensive mods to the bodies system will come out on top. Thats pro sports for you. Looking back at the history of pro football (soccer) back in the 1930 and those dudes were taking uppers and coke to play way back then. There is a well documented story of a top Brazilian player who did all that stuff. He paid the price. I guess there are many who paid and will pay the price to come out on top under the current system. Cheers and keep up the good work

    Evolution has created our bodies to know what it needs. I salt my meat to taste then dont worry about it. If my body needs more salt, I'll crave it. If it needs more water.. then I get thirsty.

      eBay or Amazon, organic electrolytes. Look for sugar free as those will work the best
