The reason why Silent Hill 2 it became a classic is because eventually people began to see how unique, eerie, melancholic and authentic the game's atmosphere it really is, and took the time to enjoy its deeply thoughtful narrative and symbolism. do u know why the sign to bhrams is blurred on the distance to it? its another easter egg due to the fact the sign was changed for HD collection and changed again for enhanced edition mod, which i know they have played due to the cord on the fridge, only enhanced has that and its in remake as another easter egg, also the whisper is from stock footage, i forget the actual soundtracks name but its from an old spooky stock sounds album, u can find the exact whisper, jaremy only THINKS it may have been a voice actor but it was actually just a stock sound
After my playthrough of the new remake of sh2 I think I finally may have answered a persisting question regarding the 3 year inconsistent lapse of time between Marys death and when James talks to Laura about it and she says that's wrong. I'm starting to believe the reason why James keeps saying 3 years because in his mind when Mary first got so unmanageably sick 3 years ago that it consumed his life that's when in his mind she died as apposed to her official passing. He then kills her, puts her body in the baskseat of his car, stops by a local restroom to compose himself before he pursues his next coarse of action, then time for him stops after 9 and it's reflected on all of the clocks and he is trapped in an psychological eternal recurrence.
Right under the sign with the Old Silent Hill reference there is a Pyramid Thing Easter egg. One board has a "hilt" and a triangle shape in the fence behind it.
The Walter news report and gravestone were actually in the original game. Silent Hill 4 was famously. Built entirely off of that news report and a seperate note you can find in Silent Hill 3 by a journalist whom is relevant to 4's plot.
The Born from a Wish sub scenario actually wasnt in the very original at launch. It was added to the Restless Dreams version when it got ported to Xbox, and then later added to the Greatest Hits version on PS2. To me, I know SH2R is Playstation Exclusive for a year, itd be pretty great if Born from a Wish is added to the Xbox release when it goes there as homage to how it originally was added. Make it DLC for Playstation of course haha, but launching it around that time would be a neat little repeat of time.
also James didnt REMEMBER he killed Mary, he always knew he did, it was just his hope that maybe it didnt take. Thats kind of the powerful thing about SH2, its not amnesia, its just punishment.
Not sure if it's a reference or not but in the saul street apartments at the top level inside of the bathroom where you put your hand in. It reminds me of the bathroom from silent hill 4 sort of like a very similar design with the hole being there and very similar layout from the one in sh4
The save point location in the Nightmare Hotel is just similar to the one in the OG game. The fan is smaller and there´s no garbage in there with it, but it´s pretty much the same setting.
Haha, James comments that looking at the square makes it feel like someone is "groping around [his] skull", not "someone going in his skull to grope him". Slightly different implication there!
In the very First scene you can See an Imprint of James Wedding Ring he took of. Indicating his wife is not as Long dead, James think she is, because the imprint should Not be there.
I am absolutely loving silent hill 2 remake the puzzle got me at first cuz I never played the original 😅 but I finally beat it and got the leave ending reloaded my save and got the in water ending
I read that there's supposedly a corpse in the prison with a spoon on its neck that is a nod, or even the corpse of, Walter Sullivan who killed himself that way
If I didn’t watch this before I went further into Brookhaven Hospital I Would been annoyed with myself later that I would have missed those fun interactions with Maria at the Pete’s-Bowl-O-Rama and the old Heavens Nightclub location.
Those are not just easter eggs btw, those are past cycles of James being in Silent Hill. In the old SH2 version u could even see corpses dressed as James which support that theory, even the Remake plays into it by showing u past riddles, events from the old game. I also think James couldnt bear the thought of killing Mary anymore and commited suicide, driving off a cliff into the lake, starting the first cycle of his eldritch nightmare being trapped in an unending torment. Damn this game is deep, as deep as the abyss.
I didn't get the cycle theory until you see that the chain fence on the roof of the hospital that James gets blasted through in the original is specifically bent and torn like something had been thrown through it. I can't verify that there isn't an explanation, like text that hints towards a patient jumping off the roof or something, but they had to have made it bent for a reason.
14:37 There is also a female nurse who walks from around the desk as you enter the room. I think this points to his infidelity with a co-worker. Yet, another reason for him to be racked with guilt and shame...

There is an Easter egg in Blue creek that has the bathroom from Sh4. With the the hole and the mirror
Can’t wait to watch this after I get all the endings. I did find the ones on the thumbnail tho. First thing I did was check the back of the car during my first play through 😂
do u know why the sign to bhrams is blurred on the distance to it? its another easter egg due to the fact the sign was changed for HD collection and changed again for enhanced edition mod, which i know they have played due to the cord on the fridge, only enhanced has that and its in remake as another easter egg, also the whisper is from stock footage, i forget the actual soundtracks name but its from an old spooky stock sounds album, u can find the exact whisper, jaremy only THINKS it may have been a voice actor but it was actually just a stock sound
I feel like the inventory screen from the very beginning is also the videotape of you killing Mary, but zoomed in?
The first Pyramid Head encounter is 3 mins long, not 6.
0:30 I see you installed the mod to restore the patches on James’ jacket
Right under the sign with the Old Silent Hill reference there is a Pyramid Thing Easter egg. One board has a "hilt" and a triangle shape in the fence behind it.
Also he does the Chainsaw reference to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre that was in the OG as well.
Awesome video ! And James looks so much better with the patches on the jacket !
The og voice line is a sound bite of a cd they used for stock sound.
The Walter news report and gravestone were actually in the original game. Silent Hill 4 was famously. Built entirely off of that news report and a seperate note you can find in Silent Hill 3 by a journalist whom is relevant to 4's plot.
The whisper was actually just a stock sound fx. Feels like you only did some surface level research for this.
He missed that several things were from the original or were references to the original as well.
15:52 James look out, James, bro looK OUT
"Yeah Steven, look oooooooout"
Lmao
You know what that Original Maria Outfit Easter egg gives? It gives DMC: Devil May Cry "Not in a million years" energy, but done right. 😂
Another interesting detail I noticed is that the corpses that Eddie has killed are all actually James if you look close enough. No idea why tho.
ALL of the corpses in the game look James. This was actually a detail carried over from the original game.
I re-did the fight with pyramid head when it ended and i realized it was just timed, was not walking away after dumping all that ammo. 😂
Thank you for all details you shared ❤
The save point location in the Nightmare Hotel is just similar to the one in the OG game. The fan is smaller and there´s no garbage in there with it, but it´s pretty much the same setting.
love this game
Haha, James comments that looking at the square makes it feel like someone is "groping around [his] skull", not "someone going in his skull to grope him". Slightly different implication there!
In the very First scene you can See an Imprint of James Wedding Ring he took of. Indicating his wife is not as Long dead, James think she is, because the imprint should Not be there.
I am absolutely loving silent hill 2 remake the puzzle got me at first cuz I never played the original 😅 but I finally beat it and got the leave ending reloaded my save and got the in water ending
I read that there's supposedly a corpse in the prison with a spoon on its neck that is a nod, or even the corpse of, Walter Sullivan who killed himself that way
The empty envelope is from the original game. The only difference is that it's a blank note.
James Baldwin? You mean Ernest Baldwin?
It would be awesome if they created dlc for Maria, Eddie, Angela and Laura
the whisper in 209 is from an audio cd of sound effects that they used. It has not been recorded by anyone on the team. It's been debunked before
You should cultivate this talent.
If I didn’t watch this before I went further into Brookhaven Hospital I
Would been annoyed with myself later that I would have missed those fun interactions with Maria at the Pete’s-Bowl-O-Rama and the old Heavens Nightclub location.
11:18 White Chrism!
i wasnt even playing it myself and the dumbass figure scared me anyways running like that after james while hes looking at the bread
I heard the 9 squares represents all the creatures James comes across throughout the game
Maybe the chainsaw belonged to Thomas orosco since he was a lumberjack
I am very curious to see their take on Born From A Wish. I know that they're gonna bring it as DLC, just like how RE4 Remake did with Seperate Ways.
There is another chainsaw animation, where James raises the chainsaw above his head. I believe it could be a reference to Leatherface from TCM.
He did it in the original game too, I love to think he's doing his best Leatherface impression 😂
7:28 I think this one was debunked, it was supposedly a whisper found in a soundpack
Everybody has missed silent hill too much. I hope this hype may force konami to make other games’ remakes
i kept hearing "Old Santo" and "Santo Ranch" and became very confused
I thought you were supposed to wait out the first Pyramid Head encounter like in the original and that shooting or hitting him did nothing.
Did you talk about the James overhead chainsaw scream??
14:37 There is also a female nurse who walks from around the desk as you enter the room. I think this points to his infidelity with a co-worker. Yet, another reason for him to be racked with guilt and shame...
