I did the exercise and the probability of getting 0 in the first qubit (where phase is applied), P=[1+N*cos(theta-alpha)]/2 For CNOT gate, N=0, So P=1/2.
thanks for the insight. I am still thinking how come adding a controlled gate in mid of that H--phase--H circuit make the probablity of 0 and 1 equal. mathematically it seems to be fine... is it related in some way to the quantum eraser concept ?
