    Great review as usual! The Momotaro 0306 GTB tight tapered 12oz was my first Japanese denim. Very snug when I bought them and they didn’t stretch much in the waist, but I lost few kilos and now they fit like a glove. Exquisite denim and details. Love the dark blue dye, big pockets and contrast stitching. And the leather patch with peach boy is very cool! Currently Momotaro are my top brand together with Samurai which is the master of details! 🤩

    Thank you for this video. I think we can see the white dots, because it is a slub woven denim. You can see extra slow woven denim that hasn’t got those dots, in my opinion. I own this Momotaro and I really love it ❤

    My first pair of raw selvedge jeans I got were the GTB Momotaro I got in Kyoto. They had a shop in a mall. This was 15 years ago maybe 😂

    Have two pairs, for some reason I decided to go a size down for my second pair which probably was a mistake, those are 18oz and very stiff still (first pait around 15oz). Hope I have the patience to wear them down and make them softer, did wash whem which probably was my second mistake. Think they did skrink a little, as they was tight to start with it didn't really help. Only reason I did wash them was that I hoped whey would get a bit softer which they did not. Well well lessons to learn on the denim journey,

      It happened to me with my first pair of Iron Heart; in the end, I sold it and bought the right size. It is true we learn from mistakes and some are expensive ones 👍👍👍👍

    I'm on the hunt for a pair of Japanese black selvedge, and Momotaro is on the list. I'm sorry if I missed it, but what was the fit (or model number) of the second pair, with the Zimbabwe cotton and the battle stripes? Thanks!

    • @UrbanLadUK
      @UrbanLadUK  7 месяцев назад +1

      The model is 306. Usually, you can find this model in 15.7oz of Zimbabwe cotton, which belongs to the tight fit

    hey man, great videos. I recently got myself some Momotaro 0306-V in a 34 Waist. I always wear 34's and never had an issue with other brands. I can't do the jeans up lol. Any views on Momotaro sizing. I currently have a 34 in Lee 101Z's. They are bit more relaxed than I usually wear so wanted to get a tighter / more tapered fit in the legs. Is there a cut and waist size you normally go for in Momotaro's? Really love the quality of the jeans, but the sizing just seems to be extremely small .... any thoughts you can give ?

      @UrbanLadUK  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi!! Thank you!!! The best way to choose the right size is instead of only going for the size, is to look at the measurements, most Japanese Brands post the measurements, so grab your best-fitting jeans (not the stretching ones) and pick the size that matches those measurements. Keep in mind that the jeans need to be sanforised or one-wash, unless you have experience with shrink-to-fit jeans (as Levi’s calls them, everybody else calls them Raw Denim ).

      @@UrbanLadUK Thanks for the reply. I've got in touch with Momotaro to look into it. The jeans measure roughly 86cm, they should be 91cm. Thanks for the quality videos, and advice though. Appreciate it 🙏

      @@UrbanLadUK Momotaro are saying that their jeans have an allowance of 2-3cm, but this seems crazy to me. The jeans should be 91cm for a 34. If they measured 88, that would be a size 33, as that is supposed to be 88.5cm. I measure the jeans at 87, and have had them measured by a dry cleaners. They agree with me. So it will be interesting to see what Momotaro say. They have agreed to exchange them as long as when they measure them they are not inside the 2-3cm variance. I love the jeans, but the customer experience hasn't been the best, and their arrogance on sizing hasn't been fantastic either. Hopefully no games, and they just exchange them one they receive them back.
