Amazing upbringing. I really adore vicky of speaking punjabi so fluently and desi punjabi while being brought up in bombay.
You have to attribute it to his parents. I'm a Punjabi Hindu myself and grew up outside of Punjab for a good portion of my childhood and my parents spoke the only language they knew with us ie. Punjabi. Fast forward to the US I've met so many Punjabi's-Muslim, Hindu, Sikh and a couple Christians-very few know Punjabi. They say its because their parents wanted them to learn English and didn't see a need for Punjabi & were busy working to provide for them in a new country where they had no one, which is sad but it's part of life. End of the day blood is what matters I suppose.
