    Are you applying for a master's programme?
    Concert piano or composition?

    • @Ivan_1791
      @Ivan_1791  5 месяцев назад +2

      Not for a masters, I'm in the 2nd year of a 4 year program. I'm going to apply to the student exchange program in some European countries.
      I really want to study abroad, it looks like a wonderful experience.

    Sorry I’m dumb but the first thing I notice is your hair change…. Sad the piano is a bit out of tuned in the high register, but very nice playing Ivan!

      I watched some and to me your compositions are well timed and nice overall, though the lack character and intrigue, they are mostly really predictable and would probably fit in as background music. Most composers have become known thanks to their ability to compose pieces that you can't really anticipate, but they still sound good and have lots of character. Also your pieces they felt a bit robotic, perhaps slam a bunch of random length notes together on one instrument and try to create accompaniments for them, worked for me.

      @Ivan_1791  4 месяца назад

      @@sormusoliver How would you define "character"? I'm not sure I understand. And don't my "Distorted Thoughts" give a sense of intrigue?

    • @sormusoliver
      @sormusoliver 4 месяца назад

      @@Ivan_1791 I don't know what you mean by "Distorted Thoughts", but I thought that his pieces resolved rather quick and there was nothing really to wait for. Everything is subjective though! E.g. if I listen to Dvorak, I could rarely predict what's coming but he still manages to make everything sound wonderful. Also his pieces have depth, as in different instruments layering each other without creating too much noise.

      @@sormusoliver My "Distorted Thoughts" are a series of piano compositions: ruclips.net/video/He1ReZiQhlo/видео.html And were you referring to the pieces in this video? I'm confused.
