- I think I haven't expressed something properly on the organ only version : Mario music is basically what started basically everything for me. My love of orchestral music and will to orchestrate came from me listening to the score of Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 when I was younger and many of the iconic songs from a lot of Mario games are still stuck deep inside my brain. Ultimate Bowser from Mario 64 has however a special connection to me since it is one of the first rather hard song I learned to play on the piano when i was about 12 or so. I still know how to play it nearly completly as of today even though I haven't touched the song in years. Anyways expect more nintendo related stuff to come in soon since I've kind of fell into a rabbit hole of Mario, Pokemon and Zelda songs that I want to give some love too as well since they were my childhood.

I love how your remixes portray kid-friendly characters like Bowser in a much more menacing and ominous light compared to the official games.
Jonsso Gaming You just brought up an interesting idea. Canon-Bowser is basically a big bully, and has occasionally sided with his fellow Star Children against greater threats. But what if he actually *was* a true threat? Being a combination of giant turtle and dragon gives him a great mix of offense and defense. We all know he’s ludicrously tough (see his Death Battle for more details). So what might happen if he actually crossed the line to become Truly Evil? Could even a badass like Mario stand up to him at that point?

I think Nintendo gets its edginess through with Ganon in Zelda. As a whole, I think Mario is the bigger staple of Nintendo, but considering that Zelda is not far behind, it goes to show that the fan base could really enjoy a fully threatening bowser.
Actually this is pretty close to the original. The original still have this exact mood but held back by the limitations of N64 sound and midi capabilities. He didn't make the music any more menacing than it was, he only made it more epic.
This is why we need a T rated mario game, in Twilight Princes style graphics

Always has been. He turned an entitre nations population into bricks. He has stolen incredible powers and nearly destroyed the world on purpose and accident countless times in games. A shame we will never see a serious mario game where bowser goes scorched earth. No more imma knock you out mario try again, more like... I got the princess and the castle is burning to the ground. More like I stole the power stars and now the entire kingdom's electrical system is down. I wish nintendo would let the big evil turtle king go ham.

The Mario world theme feels a lot like a fight against a pure unthinking monster. This feels like a heroic fight against a tyrannical king. A more civilized threat.

The huge room Mario entered was empty, or so it seemed. The darkness around him felt like a blanket of fog, impossible to navigate or even to see through. Igniting a fireball in his hand, Mario turned around, holding it out in front of him like a torch but the oppressive darkness only allowed a small circle of light to shine around the plumber. A cold chill filled the room, sending chills crawling up his spine. Taking a few tentative steps forward, Mario attempted to get his bearings, all the while thoughts of Peach and Luigi raced through his mind. He hadn't seen his brother since they were ambushed back at the throne room and the last he'd seen of the princess was when that damned Koopa's brat of a son, Bowser Jr, taunted him just after he and Luigi had been separated. He'd taken care of that fairly easily, but Peach was nowhere to be found.
"You destroyed my army," a deep growling voice reverberated through the room. Whirling around, Mario saw two large red eyes glaring at him. Instinctively, he hurled his fireball at them but it was swallowed by the darkness and the eyes vanished. He ignited another just as the voice spoke again.
"You defeated my most trusted servants,"
The eyes were to his left; again, he threw the fireball with the same result. A cold chill filled the room, causing the hair on Mario's neck to stand up.
"And now, you kill my son!" The voice shouted the last words and the eyes appeared directly in front of the plumber. Startled, Mario stumbled back only to see the eyes behind him, to his right, the left. He was completely surrounded.
"You will pay for that, plumber," Bowser's voice declared, "No more tricks, no more games!"
The eyes surrounding Mario began to move, swirling around the terrified plumber before finally coming together at a point not far in front of him. A burst of red light flashed, causing Mario to shield his eyes for a moment, and illuminated a huge, dark shape. That shape began to rise on two giant legs, a massive tail swishing out behind it and two huge arms stretched out to the side. A large, horned head rose from the top of the shape and before Mario had a chance to react, the gigantic Giga Bowser sent him flying backward with one swipe. Dazed, Mario stumbled to his feet as the Koopa king stepped forward, the red light revealing him fully, and let out a earth shattering roar of pure fury. Despite the fear, Mario managed a smirk.
"That's a good-a trick, Bowser," he told the gargantuan turtle, "But this is a-why I brought-a my little friend."
Reaching into his back pocket, Mario pulled a small, glowing item; a Starman. Energy pulsed from the little being as Mario looked up at his towering foe with renewed confidence. Giga Bowser's eyes narrowed and he huffed in derision, smoke billowing from his nostrils. His voice lowered to a chilling snarl.
"And you're going to need him."
You really set the atmosphere, awesome!, you could literally write a drama/action novel about mario.

Every instrument gets its moment to highlight how intense this piece is. I loved the original from the first moment I reached bowser as a child. This makes me remember how terrifying and epic of a fight I was facing at the time. Thank you for your rendition of this piece.

To me, in the Mario CInematic Universe, once we get Kirby, Star Fox, Samus, etc. They should do a smash bros final fight against Giga Bowser (and/or Ganon) with this song
Koji kondo is truly a master at making remarkable songs for these games. Some of his work take me back 15 years into my old room, playing ocarina of time in my old n64. I wonder if he knew back then what those songs would mean to his fans.

When I was a child I use to switch off the volume when was time to fight with the final Bowser. Now that I'm 19 I'm still feeling fear with this theme, and this version it's simply beautiful. The composition of this orchestra is fantastic! Love it

Loyd and Alex Hull by a personally massive margin! This is, not even kidding, a rare occasion for me to sub instantly. You’re the second channel to do this in a year.
Everyone is comparing this to the Dark Soul's soundtrack, but honestly the organ and choir gives me some Final Fantasy vibes.

“He’s out for all of us this time. He is going full brutality. His only desire is to kill you. Once he kills you, he’ll come for us next. You gotta eliminate him brutally as well.” The people said. They had fear within their words.
“So it seems then, that I must end this eternal conflict once and for all. He will burn within the eternal fires that created the universe.” Mario said with determination. He prepared all of his powers for a final battle with the Koopa King to liberate his life and everyone else’s life from him. The battle will be hard, and Mario realizes he probably won’t survive the encounter. He has one shot to kill the Koopa King, so all in he goes. The result of said battle, we won’t see as observers until the end of time.
I actually teared up a bit listening to this. It's a beautiful remix.
