@@stephencornelious That's true, I never liked Puffin browser anyway and never used it, I've always used Brave browser, I use to have Chrome & Firefox for awhile till I found Brave.

1. Open developer option on setup
2. Attach external hard drive
3. Install recommended apps
4. Install emulators and Roms

Hello there. Nice video, thank you. I just wanted to point out that connecting a usb or through network sharing is faster and easier. You just drag and drop into the shield after you download, right into the shield download folder. I mean no disrespect to you. I have followed you for a while now and you have it nailed down.

I tried to download some retro games on chrome to play it on my shield but download a cain of ad or something popup on chrome like malware or whatever. Could you make or guide whow to download and play some games on the shield I bought for playing games and now I don't know how to use it.

Hey, Stephen, I am thinking about buy Nvidia Shield Tv and Webcam for Zoom, facebook messenger video chat, other various apps. I can tell Nvidia Shield TV is under Android tv platform with Google and limited certain apps that can be allowed to download into this shield android tv box.
My question to you is Can I use USB Stick to put on my computer in order to download such as Zoom Meeting video chat, Facebook messenger video chat, other various apps APK into USB Stick? After that, once I put USB Stick on Nvidia Shield Android TV and download FX files manager and I can also unload apps apk from USB Stick into Shield tv?? Will it work? Please let me know anytime when you can. Thanks!!
Would you stick with the 2017 Nvidia Shield or go with the Pro because trying to buy one
I dont use chrome anymore since I cut the cord it's not availible to me so dont use it and I disabled on all my "legit" android devices. Havent used the Yalp or something like that I'll test it again and there is a few more. Thsnks for the info your one of the best & trust your info👍

Hey Steve thank you for another great video. I had a question about my Nvidia shield. The older version not the newest out I wanted to know how to get my microphone working again the Google assistant Android for some reason it will not work and I cannot find a video how to fix it. One said uninstall updates on my Google and I didn't think that was a good idea because it said it would replace and remove all data. Do you have any suggestions? I have the newer 8gb version. It does not have USB but what Bluetooth keyboard do u recommend for using chrome browser? And what alternative is there for es file explorer? I could sign in on Google drive through the old provided one.

On my NVIDIA shield 500 go I download a file to a flash drive and am trying to install it when I execute it the next screen says staging and bottom right says cancel then it displays parsing error unable to proceed with installation

I’m having problems in NVIDIA shield pro 500 gb, using filelinked won’t install Kodi the file downloads but when I hit install it says staging and just locks there bottom right of screen just saying cancel with no install button. Back out and retry same results
Hail up Mr Stephen, that's allot of money to invest in a device that u have to jump thru all these hoops to install simple apks that 30 dollar devices can install with great ease. Good video sir. No to Android TV.

I bought a new shield box. Went through the whole setup like normal but for some reason the sb wizard wont open after i install from repository. Just sits there. This is literally the first thing i installed so not sure if i need to do something additional. Did your supreme build install like normal?

Try Easy Fire Tools. Basically what ever you download to another Android Device you can transfer to Nvidia Shield.
Hey ther I am having some issues on the shield. I just got the pro, everything was working just fine. Now I can’t open the tv series on Addons. I can only access new episodes as opposed to all the other options like. New tv shows, most popular, people watching. It will let me in, but when I click a specific tv show. I can’t browse the series. This is on every app I have please help
try Uninstall the app than install again if it doesn't work factory reset your device keep in mind you have to install everything back again

Verry strange to hear Google prohibiting downloads on Puffin considering Chrome lets you download anything you want!
I guess it's just android TV os because chrome allows you to do anything. My favorite browser. I didn't even believe it until their devs actually posted it. I was like no way it could be true
@@stephencornelious Kinda funny considering that Android TV OS has a DOWNLOAD folder... I bet one of the streaming content providers pressured Google to do this as a piracy countermeasure. Sony made Google remove Kodi from the Play Store on the Sony Bravia line of Smart TV'S... No biggie tho, Android has more backdoors than a dirty movie! The amateur tech community won't be stopped!😎

Hello Steven another great video, but for me and my New 2019 Shield, my easiest way to get filelinked and everything else on it was to search for BRAVE browser apk, or go to apkpure.com & download it, no one ever mentions Brave browser but I think it's the best & easiest & safest browser for the shield, it will let you download anything, and unlike Puffin which you have to back out to downloads to see & install what you downloaded, on Brave you find your apk or file, click on it, it pops up & asks if you want to open it, then it pops up when downloaded & asks if you want to install it & it stays on the screen & does not disappear as other browsers do. Very simple, clean interface & so easy to use, the best way to get your files downloaded. Also if your transferring files from a computer, search & download FILE COMMANDER, the easiest ES FILE EXPLORER replacement I've found & click on PC Transfer, then it gives you a web address to go to on your computer, surf to it, and it opens up your Drive on your SHIELD to view on your computer, unlike Send Anywhere which has to be installed on both devices, then just choose any file on your Computer you want to transfer to the shield or from the sheild to the computer, even easier than using the USB FLASH DRIVE.

It's funny all the FB Shield & other groups are making not being able to get downloader & Puffin to work way too complicated, also on the New Shield remote I used Button Mapper at the play store to change my NETFLIX button to be able to open 3 of my favorite apps, 1 click for one 2 click for the 2nd app and long pause for the 3rd app, you can do 1,2 or 3 apps that way, another thing people are making too hard, then I printed out a tiny label to go over the Netflix button, LOL!. also I found out how to open the remote to change batteries, I dropped it on the floor and the back cover came right off, HAHAHA!, now that it's been off once, it slides up and down very easy.

Yeah I did the same thing now it's saying drive is corrupted. It's a Seagate so don't know if I can get all my files back.
Why don't you just use downloader to install apps?
I've been doing this along time ago PUTTIN all the new apk files on a flash drive and install them onto the box or firestick

That nvidia shield TV app in play store gives you a portable keyboard

This does have to do with nvidia, they should put a browser of some kind on the actual device. They put this "upgrade" out knowing it was worse than what we already had and now they make it difficult just to get back what we already had. I was a LOYAL fan of nvidia, but not anymore. Im pulling for amazon now. I hope they start putting real equipment in their products again like the old school fire TV box. Their pro is worse than the regular 16 gb kit was in 2017. 200 bucks and they have identical specs except this new one doesn't come with a game controller. More money to get less equipment, and have to do more work to get apk apps working.

While I understand Android apps appeal way too complicated to navigate. I always hated Android in the past and still do regardless which device I try. I just keep using Windows which makes things soo easy
