He used them to hurt the Tijuana and Sinaloa cartels shipments. There was a scene where El Mayo basically said he found it strange how the army was able to conduct raids on their spots, yet Juarez shipments remained untouched. Amado didn’t give a damn about others winning lol
El Azul spent six years in prison, got out in 1993 and died of a heart attack in 2014 at age 65. He was my favorite character on the series because he never lost his cool, and the shootout at the Palma house was AWESOME!

I'm from México, from the City of Querétaro, I watched Narcos and knew about Amado Carrillo, and a few days ago, I just discovered that in the 90's, he lived for 2 or 3 years just a few blocks away from my house... When a friend told me that, I thought it was bs, but I just discovered the house, It's totally abandoned and it has a signboard that it's owned by the government. Querétaro is my hometown and it has always been a very quiet and peaceful city, so I never thought it has something related with the cartels, but now I know that it's beacuse most of the cartel bosses agreed that their families would live peacefully here. People also say that Amado wanted to buy the soccer stadium of Querétaro, just as a fun fact, it's the soccer team that became world famous a few years ago because they signed Ronaldinho.
