- This was recorded in January 2024 when I finally got the flat on the market.
All my hard work had paid off but it came at a price, I was mentally and physically drained and the pains in my foot, leg and back were at an all-time high.
As you know, I now live in Thailand and I'm determined to stay here forever. I can not touch the money I got from the sale of the flat, that is invested for Chloe to enjoy when I'm gone. All I have is my personal savings and this will run out eventually unless I can build my channel back to where it was before.

Good luck mate. I totally get where you are and having lived in Thailand with a Thai wife and our daughter, I'm itching to escape once Great Britain to return there. The UK is on borrowed time, and Sir Kneel-a-lot freebie Stasi and his band of thieves are nailing the lid on over the next 4 years, 10 months. I have to remain here for a few more years until my daughter finishes school, but I'll be back in Thailand as soon as possible.

You have made a great decision. All western countries are being deliberately bankrupted and culturally, religiously and societally collapsed. I'm in Australia and if I didn't have peripheral neuropathy I'd be moving to Thailand as well. All the best mate.

Hope you get a good job there but it's difficult to work if you're a foreigner in Thailand. Some guys lose everything there, go careful.
It’s your life my friend, I myself would not sell my property to move abroad. I would hold off, find a long term tenant and rent it. When the money is spent, it’s gone.
Your a British man and right now we need British men in our country more than ever.

Going there with medical conditions is not good unless you get very expensive medical insurance and thats if they insure you at all .

@tony have you checked about medical over there and how it works. As in price I know they offer a "basic" public package for all citizens, as for the UK. I agree something will happen because the working class will only put up with so much like a pressure cooker looks all quiet on the surface but the pressure is building, NHS can not cope with the influx I need treatment and in past 5 years I've had well especially past 2 years had appointment upon appointment cancelled. With no reason even when I asked, too many mouths to feed from the tax pile.if people want want to be on the dole nothing wrong with them and pretending they have a headache or backache you can pick up waste and rubbish, clean buildings for your money. If you don't like it get proper employment, people come to the country you have to work a minimum of 5 years to get NHS treatment. Otherwise you will have to pay for a basic plan. Same for no benefits from the government. And if you come here in a rubber dingy "illegally" then sorry but you can not stay. Especially with no papers. The longer this country carries on like this the harsher the treatment. If I wore a tinfoil hat I'd say the government wants it to go to crap so they can bring in martial law or more Draconian rules.

I'm in Australia now 23 years. Great country but I feel it may end up the same in the future. In 5-6 years I'm going to send half my time here and half in Asia between Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. Thank god for Asia 🙏
I have basic medical and I have insurance from the bank. Apart from that, I'm self insuring because I'm not paying the massive excess that all insurance companies expect you to pay.
in the UK, only 3 years ago, a simple operation like a hernia was performed without problems but now, they won't even do that because of cut-backs. I have 2 friends who are in agony because of hernias and they refuse to treat them unless they become strangulated (which is life threatening).
The influx of immigrants into the country is by design mate. They have plenty of opportunities to stop them from coming but NOTHING has been done, it's the fuel the next generation which won't have a middle class, just a lower and upper class because the middle class still have a voice which causes the establishment problems.
In 4 years time, the UK won't be anything like it is now, I'm sure of it.

A,few,points have more than one bank account in uk as,when santander found i was living in philippines they debanked me . i had sold my last house and tranfered money here to buy property . customs blocked my pensions and i had to give a full account on sale off my house which i had done once it was sold .they asked again and proof what i bought in phills. This is why santander debanked me was very stressfull

I fully agree with your views on what’s happening to our once great homeland. The writings been on the wall for years and it’s now ramping up rapidly. The ‘powers’ that be are doing everything they can to provoke mass civil unrest. It’s just a matter of time.

DON'T go with the solicitors suggested by the agent. You already have a solicitor, so use them. A lot of people ended up with problem properties because they used online conveyancing services. I have to say that I don't like the sound of this agent and bet she will get a kick-back from the conveyancing firm she suggested. Good luck with your plans to move abroad and I hope it works out for you.
Sounds similar to Australia, the government let's far too many immigration in with little to no english, or work skills..some cannot even read basic english !
Zero reconised Qualifications then the government looks after them better than their own people/ permanent residents.
Meanwhile Australia has a extremely high cost of living & House Shortage as a result of Tradesmen shortages.
I believe the government should use this wasted money & focus on providing "incentives" to both the Companies through new Apprenticeships & Young Residents just out of school like tool allowance, and a bonus for completing each year of Apprenticeships etc. to entice them into "Valuable Trade & Apprenticeships thus more Tradesmen which build the essential buildings & infrastructure, services we need both now & the long term future. I can imagine the UK is of a similar problem from what your describing.

I've been here for 7 months on a retirement visa mate and I don't regret anything I did. Thailand is an amazing place and I will never go back to the UK.

If u go to philippines u can get uk pension its not effected to live here comfortable cost about 150k a month i sold all my property in uk payong taxs accountant stress if oil runs out tenant wants it fixed free .
You are lucky to buy that through the Right To Buy. And the council was sorting the door and window for free, despite you owning it. Anyway, I agree, the UK is a sinking ship.
technically i assume he is a leaseholder NOT a freeholder , he paid for many years for a sinking fund to fund the upkeep of the properties , its not free, he paid for it via service charges
Not free. He agreed for the new door and will be paying through service charges.
As it's already been correctly pointed out, I owned the property but not the building because it was leasehold. I had to pay for the new door and window through my service charges (another load of extortion).
