- ❗️ Overwatch crossplay across PC, Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo Switch is finally live in beta! Cross platform gameplay is long overdue Overwatch. How does this work in competitive? Is it even worth it at this point? What does crossplay mean for Overwatch gameplay? Will this end the PC vs. Console war? Nah, it's just a last minute hype build from Blizzard in preparation of Overwatch 2 :p

Kinda wish they had added mouse and keyboard on console. Especially since there’s crossplay now.
They would have to set it up to turn off 'aim assist' when you connect with a keyboard n mouse. Since they are to stupid to figure it out, this is what ya get. lol
I don’t understand why they would remove it. Makes no sense to me.
The weirdest thing for me on PS4 is that text chat now works but getting to it is bizarre. Even if you have a keyboard hooked up, during play it's Option, L3, change channel (if you need to), then you can finally type, using either the on-screen keyboard or your real one. Why can't I just hit ENTER like on PC?
(The extra WTF cherry on top is that you can now use chat that hard way on PC with a controller. But you still have to have a keyboard, they don't bring up an onscreen kb. At least with PS4, you can do short messages without having to move hands off controller, though imo it's not worth it. PC, you still have to move to the keyboard. Why, Blizzard?)

I hate cross play I think console should cross play with other console cross play stop bringing pc they have so much advantages
Mostly it's allowing consoles to play each other that matters, IMO, from a game standpoint. Queue times on console dropped for me a _lot_, and matchmaking seems surprisingly better in quickplay - presumably because with a larger pool to pick from, you can get tighter matches. I think it's been a meaningful win.

They killed aim assist when playing with PC players… so it’s impossible to be competitive with a controller 🤦🏾♂️
I play Widowmaker on PC with a controller. (Because of RSI issues, I literally can't use a mouse for more than like 20 minutes without hand cramps.) Am I at a disadvantage doing so? _Absolutely._ And it's a serious disadvantage. But it can be done.
I was originally on PS4 and I mostly turned aim assist off, because their aim assist really screws with your ability to get headshots. It favours centre of mass rather than heads and literally kept pulling me _off_ headshots. So if you want to deal with meeting up against PC players, crank down the aim assist region size to basically nothing. That got me prepped for continuing my bullshit on PC. xD
But mostly though I'm finding what's happening is console v. console. PC players only show up if they're grouped with console players. I did get in a game on PC with a Switch player last night though. And they were pretty good! Their team lost but it wasn't because of them.
Yeah it's really stupid tbh. They should let controller users have AA. I'm done.
I don’t care if controller has a advantage I just wanna be able to play ranked cuz I’m the only person of my friends group that plays on pc
I'm still trying to get used no aim assist on console . It's hard but IL keep training .

no aim assist, controller just feels like shit in cross play lobbies. reason i'd say cross progression can't be a thing is probably because then your account would have to have separate competitive ranks.
separate competitive ranks would also probably mean separate competitive currencies for gold weapons unless they wanted to allow people to get currency for placing on like... pc, xbox, switch. this thought just came to me while i was typing this up. idc about gold weapons anymore, but some people do ig >_> but yeah... it would require a pretty big rework of the whole system

Crossplay should become the standard for most games, personally I keep asking 'why Overwatch 2?' rather work on Overwatch, like crossplay, something the community has been asking for such a long time, happy to hear they finally are doing it tho

I think cross progression is coming w/ OW2. Destiny 2 has had it for awhile. I baught OW on pc cuz no1 played on xbox, even tho i still see that as my primary account.
