As a self-taught person I was probably only using about 10% of what's available. Anyway, as well as the dog, I actually managed to make a funny looking cat trying to use some of the things I learnt from the tutorial.
Thanks for the tutorial, the skills you've mentioned in the video are truly useful, but the issue for me to actually create something is not simply "how to create it", it's more like "what to create". As an amuture graphic design enthusiast of myself, I found the lack of creativity and sense of art is dragging me back. I'm actually majored in civil engineering and have zero background of art, could you please suggest me some readings or practices to improve creativity and art sense?
When I create the body using the rectangle tool, then direct select to bring top two curves in. I cannot then resize the rectangle or it's duplicated one. It resizes vertically and wider horizontally but won't go any smaller width. Any ideas where I am going wrong?
sorry I'm italian.. I've lost a passage when you put the shadow on half dog you create the rectangle black... and then? which are the command to hide only on the dog design shape? do you cut it? or hide? thank you fabrizio

Shape builder tool to cut the shape off outside the dog. :)

14:11 doesn't work. It scales it unevenly. Alt Shift do not help. It squishes the shape down.
I had the same problem but I solved it by grouping the copied object with itself before scaling it down. Idk why it didn't work in the first place..
