I think Tech is gonna be much better w McGuire at the helm. Spotting OU 17 and then coming back and winning? The old Tech would have crumbled. Nice to see them running the ball and playing D too.
"Spotting OU 17".... you act like it was TTU's intention to get stomped on in the first half .... reality is, TTU got very lucky to capitalize on a worn out, paper defense, otherwise Oklahoma was going to win by about 3 scores. At the end of the day, your record is 6-6, just like OU.
Congratulations, you guys won a competition of "which team is slightly less mediocre this year." Lol Oklahoma is trying to rebuild from an absolute train wreck that happened to them towards the end of last season. TTU has been rebuilding for... well... ever. 😂😂😂
My wife was surprised I was still watching the game. I was like, hell I still have beer and bbq, I may as well keep watching 🤷🏻♂️ Glad I stuck around. Excellent finish
only thing I thought you missed...the last play before the half on the first down pick up. they started the clock before placing the ball. ..could have gotten one more play off. but overall, thank you
It must be a bad angle for you, because there was a ref standing right under the goal post watching the ball. No one in the entire world had a better view & he was trained and experienced to make the call. Plus, the handful of fans on the grass in the endzone all saw it was bad and celebrated before the call was made. The bottom line is, Schmidt missed the FG and OU failed to score any points in OT.
how the hell did they give the tech qb a 1st down at the end of regulation when he was 5 YARDS BEHIND THE YELLOW LINE!!!!!!!!!! OU GOT SCREWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1) the yellow line was off... It was set 10 yards from the line of scrimmage on a 3rd and 4 so he actually was tackled right at the first down marker and 2) they ended up giving him a lousy spot and called it 4th and 1 anyway which is why Tech had to settle for a FG and send it to OT. If anyone was screwed on that play it was Tech who lost the chance to end it in OT and would've lost the game if the kick had been missed
Lifetime longhorn. I'm sure most TT know that with an expanded Big XII OK is not on your schedule. But TT was finally able to beat TX and OK in the same year. With TX and OK leaving for the SEC and raider fans can claim final blood on the sooners. Well see you in Thanksgiving weekend.
I wouldn't consider 51-48 much of a wrecking.... especially since Oklahoma's defense held TTU pretty much the entire 1st half. Second half, Sooner defense pooped out once again and choked, and TTU was able to capitalize on it.
@@cfbredraider No coping necessary, I knew the Sooners haven't really changed on Defense the minute they allowed K state to jump ahead a few scores so early in the game, back in week 4. 😂😂😂 I thought this game was going to be a stomp for TTU... but instead they barely won in a nail biter. What happened to Oklahoma in the off season was the biggest train wreck to happen in the FBS for the 2022 season, and they still finished the season with bowl eligibility. All I'm saying is this wasn't a wreck. It was a 3 point OT win, after a lucky second half, where you were able to capitalize on a caved in defense. No skill involved. Both teams were at full strength in the first half and the Red Raiders were getting sh*t stomped by the severely weakened program, that 3 other teams completely kicked the sh*t out of from start to finish.
The stupidest rule in CFB> Field goal kicking attempts that are above the goal posts cannot be reviewed. WHAT??? It's a scoring opportunity! And why wouldn't you review a ball going above the post? There were about 3 or 4 calls the refs made and they were bad calls. Poor spots with no reviews. Its hard enough going up to Lubbock with that shitty D but now you gotta deal with terrible refs. There should have been some fines to that crew.
Watching the OU defense. Man they were BAD!!! Absolutely horrendous! Poor tackling. Guys not giving 100% effort. Over running plays. #2, #23, #25 were terrible most of the game on D. (So glad they'll all be gone!!) OU should have easily won this game by 2 or 3 TD's. Tech's D was not very good either. This game came down to who's defense was worse.
Don't be a sore sport. I'm thankful that he actually has accessible highlights to the game. Nobody else made highlights to this game. The game had some pretty entertaining offense, and pretty good defense in the first half. There's more to football than just winning, dude. Especially in college ball... these players are just trying to play for NFL recognition, or for school spirit. It's FUN... football is FUN.
Let the Flood Gates begin! This is the beginning and the End of a Football program that I have been following for over two decades. This whole thing with the new QB & Brent V. team of Coaches didn't feel Right from the start. my love for the OU Sooner program with Barry Switzer & Bob Stoops is only a memory now. I watch all the old games on youtube- I didn't watch one game this year. Brent Venables is not the guy! The QB from Hawaii- number 8 is not the guy! We will have a losing season for the next 5 years! No one wants to go to OU anymore! Do I blame Lincoln? No- Lincoln saw this coming. I think it is because the new-age football player doesn't have much to do in Norman, OK. This is a sad day that will only get worse. If Brent loves OU, he should step down! I apologize- I needed someone to talk to.
Thanks for posting REAL highlights of this game!
I second that
I concur! Peace, Love!!
They never gave up!!
What a game!

@@justinklinck6575 are u an OU bootlicker, bro? I don’t care what the reasons are. I just made an observation. Now, go away…..get back to OU’s boots.

21:46 that hit was so hard Oklahoma’s next recruiting class felt it.
Stupid pass.
@@StripedSooner lol y’all got a cupcake schedule in an attempt to stay relevant in the big 12 😂
Anyone know who called the game? They were a fun team, and better than expected.
Looks up the Charlotte Hornets Announcer
For real right they were into it. Great stuff.
Agreed! Best I've heard in a while, hope they get some recognition.
His name is Eric Collins, he’s known for calling Hornets games, the best announcer in the NBA hands down

The Texas Tech clock operator has been horrible all year.
Great highlights 🖤❤️🏈
You can look at this game and see how tired Oklahoma was. No pass rush whatsoever.
Jesus ol boy on kick coverage at 0:19 got his damn ankles taken from him
That field goal for OU looked like it went thru for me, might be a bad angle but that is good
No it wasn’t.

The fake FG and going for it on 4th down at their 33 in 3rd qtr were bad calls that go against the percentages and have been a big problem all year.
They are only bad calls because they missed, had they executed, or Tech didn't execute, then everyone is talking about how good the OU coaches are.
Shough got that first down on the last drive before the end of regulation. Terrible spot. Could've won it in regulation.

Turk did a Utube pass
If you put it at .25 speed you can see the kick was indeed no good by just a hair
For the SEC crowd you probably need to slow it down to half speed and remind them that it’s a football play.
