First, I loved the video. It was interesting to see how everyone approached the challenge. Second, there were no “failures.” If every shot you take is “good,” you haven’t really pushed the envelope toward “great.” Mistakes happen because one is pushing the boundaries of what is comfortable or ordinary. Third, my compliments to Alex. When he took the portrait of the young lady, he wasn’t just “A” photographer; he was “EVERY” photographer. When any of us are out taking pictures we’re actually a representation to the public of every photographer. He didn’t just craft a beautiful portrait, but he also helped to create a beautiful and lasting memory for the young lady. Even though he was under a time constraint, he took the time to get her email so he could send the finished image along…, not only the right thing to do, but the classy thing to do as well. Kudos to Alex on all counts.😃👍 I look forward to your future videos. They are always as educational and informative as they are entertaining. Thanks for posting!
Tennessee Rick Elliott Haha it was such a fun challenge. We did ask all of them for their emails to send them the shots. Nestor and I decided to do this at the end so that we don’t lose time on the other shots 😂😅
JeromeTraveller Thanks for the reply. Please don’t feel, I was criticizing the other photographers. That wasn’t my intent at all. I think y’all did a remarkable job. In fact, I believe the other two actually gave business cards to the portrait subjects. Y’all represented our profession very well. I was just admiring and recognizing Alex for going above and beyond to ensure a good experience for his subject. It was a true pleasure to watch all of you in action, and again, thanks so much for taking the time to read my comment and make a reply. Wishing all four of you all the best!😃👍
Alex's portrait is my favorite, doesn't hurt that his subject is beautiful. But interesting to see how he managed to pose her in a brief period of time.
Jerome best reflection - the between the legs just made it for me, felt like a modern day of NY The Decisive Moment! Alex best portrait - Alex won out due to the leading line composition using the lights on both sides and nailing the model's pose. Nestor best panning - for what it's worth Nestor's had the most presence, I can right away tell it is NYC with the lights and taxi showing NY.
Jerome reacted quickest under pressure and also had some great shots! But Alex had the best conversational skills and patience when working with the girl for her portrait. And all of you were very entertaining :) Super cool insight to see how creative minds think and anticipate movement for a shot!
Love Jerome’s reflection shot and Nestor’s portrait . Learned how to approach a stranger for photograph from Nestor. Always compliment what you found interesting in them. Entertaining video! I was stressed for you lol
I feel like Nector had the best overall work. But Jerome was a close second and he was right about having the best portrait. This was really fun to watch. Keep up the good work.
This video was SO much fun to watch and you all did great! Jerome takes the prize though down the line, the reflection image is stellar (with that added bit of luck which makes the best pictures) and the other two are great too, also with nice colourful surroundings telling part of the story and location, which is what street photography is all about. All three portraits were awesome by the way! They all convey the person very well, as can be seen from the videos before them. Keep having fun
@pierre I follow your videos in French and English. This one is my favorite. I'll go to NY in April, you give me great ideas for pictures. Thank you guys !
Your touch and treatment of "Third Rules” and composition is just, something virtuous. I found you today via Random and I am getting a dose of huge inspiration and leisure. Thanks.
I’m new to photography (6 months experience) and i realized that formula :). Checkout my IG and tell me what you think? I’m in NYC. Use me, as a new photographer, in one of your videos if you like. It would be so maxing and an honor. Nice Chanel.
Pierre, you should have shouted that you were in a competition and you needed a portrait of someone. I bet someone within ear shot would have volunteered. Loved the challenge!

The eye patch dude spent a lot of time on hottie. Reckon he was never interested in competition. Got her number too. Well played, brother.
He was playing his own game 🎰

Alex definitely won because of the portrait. He got a beautiful model in his picture. How lucky he was! And he also guided the model to pose so well.
