WOW! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE VIDEO -IT WAS FUN AND EXCITING!! PIERRE LAMBERT HANDS DOWN WON THREE CHALLENGE. ONE THING I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT THE OTHER PHOTOGRAPHER, WAS WHEN HE SPLIT UP PEOPLE, HE KEPT A PIECE OF THE OTHER PERSON'S ARM IN THE SHOT!! HE TOOK GREAT PHOTOS OF WHAT HE GOT...BUT YOURS WERE MORE POWERFUL!
@@cryora Not necessarily... I mean, sure, he may have faked his smile, but who knows? It’s fine as long as it’s not “the cringe” smile 😬😭But don’t assume every frown means that a person is in a bad mood. Some folks will naturally appear as if they’re frowning (e.g., angry or sad). Hell, my naturally resting face looks like I’m mean or ‘unfriendly’ to strangers, but that’s just how my face naturally sits. & on top of that, I’m a deep thinker, so it’s slightly intensified whenever I’m having a deep thought. So, it’s annoying as hell when a total stranger make assumptions about how you feel (facial expressions are unreliable when it comes to accurately interpreting how folks truly feel).
I love how Pierre always compliments his subjects when getting shots of them. Seriously an inspiration I wish I could be talented as you sir in street photography
As someone who loves photography but has always had problems talking with strangers, this was kind of inspirational. Thanks for doing the video, it looked so much fun.
i know this comment is two years old but i think if you have a friend while doing this just following you around and if u act somewhat excited and enthusiastic you will have an easier time convincing people to shoot, it also probably depends on the weather, time of day, month, how cold or hot it is, how old they are, what country your in and what city. I know nothing about photography however and just watch these videos for fun
Someone else mentioned this as well, but I think the approach had a lot to do with Pierre’s success. He seemed more confident and started the conversation with a compliment where Jerome started by apologizing. No matter what, it still takes a lot of guts to do that. Kudos to both of you and keep those videos coming!
The one thing that amaze me more than the number of "yes" is how amazing each shot looks for the little amount of time u can give on each Oo Mind Blown , photography is definitely an art
I notice Lambert usually commits on people's accessories first then explains what he is doing. Example " excuse me that ['item'] looks great on you, I'm doing a challenge etc", chances of him grabbing a photo is highly likely.
big compliment to everyone involved. I was particularly impressed by the ease, the openness and friendliness of the people in NY. It’s one more reason to visit NY on a time. Awesome video ! Love it a lot ! Greetings from Germany !
Jerome, don't say "Sorry" as an intro. Just ask if you can take their photo with a smile on your face, and laugh in your voice. You will get more Yes's that way, and faster too! Even just miming "I want to take your photo" works as well, in my limited experience. I am an introvert, so do find it hard to ask often, so, sometimes I ask, other times, I mime the ask. It seems to work well. Plus having a smile on my face puts the subject at ease, even though smiling for me, is not a natural state. Take from this what you will, and I hope it helps.
Can’t believe how many people say „yes“. My first guess - if I try this in Germany I get 100 No’s - 50 slaps in my face - and maybe one „yes“. Maybe I try this one day
derVlogdahalt wenn ich so nett gefragt werden würde wie es pierre im Video macht würde ich auch ja sagen. Bei ungefragten Bildern wäre ich auch nicht amüsiert
omg i love everything about this. the way he gassed people up. How fast so many people said yes. How great every single photo came out. i was smiling the whole time! what a way to give people compliments, make them smile, and give them a free portrait
Nice! What I take from this is that the approach you take when asking is what makes the difference, the first guy seems very experienced in doing this and thus had the best approach by complimenting people and being quicker with his words which made him more inviting.. the second although good, was more formal and reserved which is why I think people were more hesitant... also, like someone suggested, I would carry around business cards, it would make you look more professional and serious and not like you are just trying to get photos of people for free (I know you guys go back to these people afterwards but some of them kept on miving), don't mean this in a bad way, I just felt that if someone took a picture of me, I would want the picture and would also be wondering what's going to happen to it or what it would be used for. but really learned a few good tips on how to look more inviting to people. Thank you guys.
