    • @cryora

      When people do that, it's like they were faking the smile the whole time, and their frown shows their real emotions.

    • @UNDEFINEDpreSENCE
      @UNDEFINEDpreSENCE 3 года назад +16

      @@cryora Not necessarily... I mean, sure, he may have faked his smile, but who knows? It’s fine as long as it’s not “the cringe” smile 😬😭But don’t assume every frown means that a person is in a bad mood. Some folks will naturally appear as if they’re frowning (e.g., angry or sad). Hell, my naturally resting face looks like I’m mean or ‘unfriendly’ to strangers, but that’s just how my face naturally sits. & on top of that, I’m a deep thinker, so it’s slightly intensified whenever I’m having a deep thought. So, it’s annoying as hell when a total stranger make assumptions about how you feel (facial expressions are unreliable when it comes to accurately interpreting how folks truly feel).

      i know this comment is two years old but i think if you have a friend while doing this just following you around and if u act somewhat excited and enthusiastic you will have an easier time convincing people to shoot, it also probably depends on the weather, time of day, month, how cold or hot it is, how old they are, what country your in and what city. I know nothing about photography however and just watch these videos for fun

    Jerome, don't say "Sorry" as an intro. Just ask if you can take their photo with a smile on your face, and laugh in your voice.
    You will get more Yes's that way, and faster too!
    Even just miming "I want to take your photo" works as well, in my limited experience. I am an introvert, so do find it hard to ask often, so, sometimes I ask, other times, I mime the ask. It seems to work well. Plus having a smile on my face puts the subject at ease, even though smiling for me, is not a natural state.
    Take from this what you will, and I hope it helps.

    Nice! What I take from this is that the approach you take when asking is what makes the difference, the first guy seems very experienced in doing this and thus had the best approach by complimenting people and being quicker with his words which made him more inviting.. the second although good, was more formal and reserved which is why I think people were more hesitant... also, like someone suggested, I would carry around business cards, it would make you look more professional and serious and not like you are just trying to get photos of people for free (I know you guys go back to these people afterwards but some of them kept on miving), don't mean this in a bad way, I just felt that if someone took a picture of me, I would want the picture and would also be wondering what's going to happen to it or what it would be used for. but really learned a few good tips on how to look more inviting to people. Thank you guys.

The creator protection make that when you take a photo in a public space it become instantly your propriety and you don't even have to ask the model anymore. If someone is unhappy with a photo you published he have to prove that this photo can cause him prejudice to force you to remove it.

    if you're in a public place you have the right to photograph whomever and whatever you like. The government and local law enforcement is proof of doing this to us citizens on a daily basis.

    Great video! I think it would be even better if it was a rule to not mention the challenge unless explicitly asked. That would be closer to the situation most photographers face and I also find the interactions much more interesting if the challenge is not the main talking point.

    Thanks for asking for permission before shooting peoe! The world is saturated with "photographers" invading our space wherever we go. I was just talking on the phone leaning on a pole when a man walks in front of me and positioned his phone at a perfect angle to photograph me. When I realized what he was doing, I walked away. I hope he didn't get the shot. Enough! We are not on show wherever we go.
    Asking permission means that you respect the person's wishes and that means you are respectful human being. When someone doesn't ask for permission with their excuse being that it's legal, that just means that they are rude and lack manners.

      You are on show wherever you go. That’s why you dress well and comb your hair before going out. In public you have no expectation of privacy.

      @@aquilifergroup Exactly. 100% agree! I never understand how people get offended or curse me out if I take a video or photo of something around them. Like if you dress a certain way or look a certain way, what's the difference between how people remember you and a photo of what they look like?

    Ah yeah. I'm new to this and introvert by nature but it's surprising how positively some people react when asked. I got some great pictures; a lady even did some spur of the moment model poses and asked me to take a couple with her phone too. . I think having a pro 'looking' camera and a little bag helps; not forgetting a smile and a compliment :)
